Portland sounds good. Guess we'll just have to get to know Vancouver when it gets closer to con-time.
Goodwill for boy's clothes. It'll take you maybe a couple hours, if you hit up an area with multiple thrift stores.

I'm down with having my picture used. Make sure to post a link up here with your photos after the shoot so we can see them too!

The sun won't be setting 'til pretty late, so I don't think they'll come in much use.

I'm sure we could find some place dark enough... Like an alley.
Goodness, does that make me sound like a stalkercreeper. >.>

Absolutely, I'll link to the pictures! I know we'll all want to see the amazingness that we will surely bring to wherever it is we finally decide on meeting.

As a general rule, if it's dark enough for glowsticks, it's too dark for pictures of anything else.

Portland is sounding good for everyone then. I live in Portland so it is certainly better for me.

Tree, could you take public transportation down? Or something? Depending on how close you are to the border, I'd be willing to go and grab you and any other Vancouver kids and then bring you down.

Glowsticks would be great but like Malaria said, glowstick dark is generally too dark for everything. Especially when you'd be using your phone like me and it doesn't have flash.

I'm also chill with having my picture shown in your class!

If you guys need more photographers, I wouldn't mind taking some pictures of you guys, that is, if I don't have to work on the 21st. I'm not a great photographer, heck I wouldn't even really call myself one, but the offer is open~

:T Public transportation would take a pretty long time from here. (Plus I have this inherent fear, as a 5 foot nothing tiny person, of going alone.) I'm not-so-sure about you coming to get me, though, Harucha, awesome as your offer is. The parentals would make a huge frowny face at the prospect, 'cause, technically, strangers. I might be able to convince my brother or a friend to drive me down, though.

Are there any other Vancouver kids? Just curious.

I'll have to run the idea by my parents and then get back to you. Unfortunately I won't have an answer until tomorrow at the earliest.

Also, regarding the glow sticks, I just get ridiculously excited about some things, glow sticks being one of those things. It's too bad, though. And sharks. I'll have to remember to bring the shark.

Oh god of course! My parents would feel the same way if a stranger was coming to get me. I guess I just didn't think about it ;; I also understand the public transport thing.

I can wait until tomorrow. As long as it's figured out by Saturday we'll be bro.

I love glowsticks. I might just buy some anyway and then derp over them and be insanely out of character. Rave!Conrad, whoo. ALSO I LOVE SHARKS.

As for you, Rebecca, having you as a photographer would be great! It doesn't matter that you aren't a pro....I don't think many of us are. Having any photographer would be bomb.

Ok, so I found out my work schedule for next week. I work until 1:30, which means that I could get down to Portland by a little after 2 pm. You certainly don't need to work your time frame around my schedule, I can just call someone and ask where you guys are at that specific time.

I shall be able to be there at the shoot! It's now, like, a ninety-something percent chance. Harucha, thank you again for offering to give me a ride, but I discussed it with my parents and my dad would prefer that either he or my brother drive me instead. So that can also mean that we have a tag-along that might be willing to do some group shots so we can all be in the same photo at least once.

Monday will be interesting, that's for sure.

'Kay, so going by what everyone's said so far, meeting at Pioneer Square at 2:30?
We'll need a secondary location to shoot at. Possibly a few of them? People at PSU, any suggestions?

The problem with that is that Peal is always covered in people, so we'd need somewhere vaguely specific where we could be guaranteed some clear shots. That and Hanna is set in kind of gritty, urban environments. Less frou frou, except for Conrad's place.

2:30 is perfect. I'll change the front page. We'll meet in the square at 2:30.

I'm glad you can make it, Rebecca and Tree!

As for places, we could sneak some shots in NW for maybe Connie's place- it's nice but not too crowded. For gritty, we could try the industrial district. Lots of warehouses and grit plus it's not too far from NW and downtown. We could try the pearl, maybe. The outskirts might be less crowded and some parts still look like the warehouses they once were. I'll head downtown on Sunday and try to scout out some spots. The problem is finding grundgy while not going into some sketch neighborhoods...which we could do but, you know, being safe is cool.

Aw, man, I'm gonna be so late to the meet-up! I'll try to be there as early as I can, but I can't guarantee any earlier than 3:30 and even that is kind of pushing it. -.-;;

I found a few possible places we can go. If we take the 17 for long enough, there's a lot of warehouses and great places to shoot. We can look at places downtown and NW too. If anyone has any other ideas, I'm open to them.

And because I am a mom; Remember to bring money for food and public transport. The weather's been funky down here too, so you might want to bring a jacket or something. Sometimes it's really warm and sometimes it fricking cold. It seems like phone numbers are covered but if anyone needs mine let me know.

I think, considering that we'll have latecomers, we should stick downtown at least for the first little while. Also, herding a large group onto the bus? Not worth the pain, most of the time. ._. I know of a couple good grungy-looking type alleyways around PSU campus. We can either walk or take the Max if it's raining. Those stops are in Fareless Square, which is nice.

I don't mean to shoot down your idea of heading out to the warehouses. It's just my experience that meetup that requires a large group of people to cover a lot of ground tends to fall apart, or you end up with lots of people lost or scared.

I don't mind! This is my first time organizing a shoot or anything of this type, so advice i really appreciated. I'm a little nervous so keeping it simple is probably the best course of action anyway. ;; Looking around PSU seems like a good idea, and I'm sure we can find some good stuff downtown.

Haha, yeah. More complicated tends to be more daunting. Together, we can make it work!

So it looks like the for-sure plan now is meet at the Square at 2:30 and stick in the downtown/PSU area?

I'll have my pictures up today, hopefully. I'm just really picky about everything remotely art-y I do so if there aren't a whole bunch of them then that is why. eue;; I was having fun with shutter speed and making things darker.

I had fun, by the way; I'm just really quiet with people I don't know personally. It was great meeting you all yesterday!

Count me in to be [...] and my friend is going to be Toni for Sakuracon and Kumoricon. :) This is a fo' sho' deal as I've already scrounged up most of my costume, and she's pretty much done with hers not counting the wig.

For those of you going as the [...], so you know, Vans currently has awesome shoes to match his, complete with black laces. I bought mine at Journeys at Washington Square mall. The only drawback, they're hard to do bar lacing with since they have odd holes on either side of the shoe tongue, and they are NEON orange. If that isn't a problem, go for it.

Here's a link: http://www.journeys.com/product.aspx?id=158160&g=guys&p=shoes&l=orange&m=SM

I did have success! I just left the top lace holes unlaced. I tie it under the tongue of my shoe so the knot's hidden. It's a little uncomfortable, but at least it works :)

I found the PERFECT shirt at Value Village. I was so excited. I just need the face paint, wig, pants, and trenchcoat. Possibly new gloves. We'll see about that last one.

I can't wait for Kumoricon to meet up with you guys!

Kiwi opted to have her friend make the wig. She probably could have done it herself, but she's never had to really style a wig before, and Toni would be a super big challenge.

Her friend was Tanuki Mario last year at Sakuracon and is going to do a fantastic job, I'm sure.

Can't wait to see your Hanna in person :3

Outfit-wise, I pretty much have everything for Zombie. I might just pick up some better boots (I need better ones for another cosplay anyway, so I might as well kill two birds with one stone.) Shortly after the start of the term after tuition is all paid I'll go get those boots, some black make-up, feathers, and I'll totally be done. <3

I was all "Boots? What boots?" then I remembered you were going to be Fem![...] Haha. Well, if you need his sneakers, I posted a link a little while ago above.

Can you dish on what outfit you're going to wear? I'm curious!

Nah, I saw your link, but I'm going with boots, thanks though :]

It'll pretty much be boots, orange tights, orange shirt, tie, black pencil skirt, and maybe some gloves.

Sounds cute! Really cute. It sounds like it be good with a black suit vest, too. That's just me thinking, though.

I think you should go with the gloves. I just bought a pair for [. . .] today at Freddies for $5. They were on super clearance. If nothing else, it will be good so you won't have to worry about paint sloughing off your hands and having to retouch them.

Lychee: I only just noticed your comment about the paint sloughing off the hands, which is an excellent point. I reapplied the white to my hands three or four times Friday of Sakuracon. Some of it barely stayed on, and some of it didn't wanna come off at all.
