I should delete some of the things on my list.  I have decided to scratch off Mikuru, Washu, and Freakazoid.
My cosplay plans for 2022 (thus far): Vanir from Konosuba
My son's plans this year (thus far): Penguin Chiyo-chan from Azumanga Daioh

Got the fabric for Max! The fur fabric section is amazing at fabric Depot. So glad they had a sale! Instead of $90 I only payed about $45. =A= i'm below broke now...

And I looked at fur fabric for Luki...but they didn't have bright pink fabric that was really fuzzy. But they did have really nice fuzzy bubblegum pink...Those of you who know DOGS, do you think that will work?

Well, do you have a Noki and if so will the bubblegum pink match the fabric of their dress?

If not, check Amazon.com because I know for a fact that they have hot pink faux fur with shag rug-thick pile. It's supposed to be used for throw rugs, but that's the beauty of re-purposing I suppose!

I don't think I do, Shay said she might want to, but later on.

hmmm, I'll have to check that out. thanks! I don't want it too pink though, cause it might be hard for Shay to find the same colour in regular fabric...I don't think I've seen much hot pink coat fabric xD

This is my last free weekend of the school term. After that things get wonderfully hectic with homework. So far I've fixed my Mew ear that broke and have finished painting the shoes. They're cute; I'll take a picture tomorrow. =) All that is left for it is to make the tail and buy the shirt I want. Hope to get the tail constructed tomorrow.
Montez Bailey, 1988 - 2009, we miss you, rest in peace.

!~~~No Kumoricon for me. See ya'll at Akicon 2011~~~!

Akicon 2011 Costumes: Genderbent Kim Pine, Marshall Lee

My Misty wig has finally arrived. :'D

I am about to start making the clip-on pony tail. I hope I don't utterly fail. :/

Edit: Here it is!

And for those of you curious, my shirt says, "US Bombs."
I got it in Japan. ^^

im slowly painting the stripes....

pftttt I ran out of paint tho... so i need to go buy some more tomorrow

Whoa, is that a Joey Jones shirt I spy? 8D
I've been on the hunt to find Heroman cosplays, but sadly they're aren't that many yet. This makes me super excited for Kcon 2011.
Are you planning to make his disc controller too?

*Edit: I should probably write about cosplay progress too.. because this is the cosplay progress thread.
Wigs and contacts have been found for Yin, and Korea's wig looks like it's probably going to be a trimmed Amphigory "Layered Flip" or "D Boy". Holding out on buying Yin's contacts since they're good for one year. I'd only get one use out of them if I buy them now.
Still trying to decide if Satin is a good idea for Korea's blue half-top.

Aaaaaaaand the decision has been made: Satin is too shiny for Korea. Perhaps broadcloth will be a better fabric.

did you look at matte satin? it's alot less shiney than regular satin. and its nice and thick, so there would be less chance of it running, which is a plus ^^

Seconding matte satin, broadcloth is a bad decision for costumes, especially fancy-looking ones. It wrinkles so badly and generally looks cheap.

I say that having made a lot of costumes and clothes in general out of it.

Oh, matte satin? I haven't heard of it.. but I've probably seen it before. I shall track it down at Joann's. I was hoping broadcloth would be good as a slightly stiff fabric, but didn't know about the wrinkles. Though I guess I hould have known, I guess- it's used in mens' dress shirts, and those have to be ironed.
On a side note, would you recommend lining matte satin? Or any other kind of satin, for that matter?

Yay for being kidnapped? o 3o

But, here is the pony tail I made for Misty.
My mom thinks I should leave it long because "it's more sexy this way." (And yes, those are her exact words...)
I think I should trim it a bit. I don't want it too short but maybe like...above my boobs?
What do you guys think? (And ugly picture is ugly. I'm sick so yeah... :/ And ignore the red eyes and the hair showing on the side.)

Use lots of hairspray to make it spiky and accurate. Misty's not supposed to be sexy, she's a ten year old girl!

I don't think I will be able to spike it because of how I made it. I used this tutorial, so it is made to hang. Plus, I think the spike would look weird. I have looked at a lot of Misty cosplays and the ones that were spiked just looked...weird...
And, I would be afraid of ruining the pony tail. It didn't take me long to make but it isn't exactly cheap with $10 for the wefted fibers, plus the shipping which is like...$8. So around $18 and a week wait to make a new one if I screw this one up.

I don't know if Joanns has it or not, I have never looked for it there. But I do know that Fabric depot has a great selection of it. the satin there is about $9.99/yd not on sale. but they have lots of really good sales often. I think there is a 40% off fabric coming up soon, but don't quote me on that xD
And lining in generall looks better, and you wont have to hem xD I'm not sure if its better or doesn't make a difference, but I recomend lining it with lining fabric (its cheaper haha)

Augh! Woe is I, who relocated to Tornado Alley for school. ;A; I'm afraid I don't have access to Fabric Depot at the moment. Looks like they have an online store, so I guess I'll resort to that if I can't find anything at Joann's or Hobby Lobby.

Went and found my Girafarrig pants, and found out where to find the jacket that I can sew spots onto. Now ... to figure out how to get a face on the butt of my pants. I thought about paint but, if said person sits down too much , would it like...come off or something. So I figured I get like patches... or something.. Dx

Aero, my friend did a Grafraig (please excuse my spelling ^^;) gijinka last year, and he just sewed the face onto the butt of his black pants, then drew on the details like the blacks of the eyes and teeth lines with black marker. Sorry to jump to conclusions, but it sounded like a gijinka thing (:

Gotta slowly work on things. I had to drop a costume I wanted to remake for Akicon because I'm doing too much stuff cosplay stuff for other people :\

I think this weekend I'm gonna finish Makomo's Barrett (waiting for the wood filler to dry right now, they just another quick sand and I can paint it), one of my Ramona bags, finishing Ramona's sweater, dulling my wig, and starting up my hammer.

And so far my weekends look like this....
8th-10th- Ramona stuff
15th-17th- Finish Ramona's Hammer, dye wig for a friend, Make Duster from Mother 3 for my boyfriend, make Butterfree dress for Dubaby, Finish Game Scott for my boyfriend TRY TO DO THIS ALL WHILE MY BIRTHDAY STUFF IS GOING ON ;.;
22nd-24th- Finish Makomo stuff (Make labcoat, paint shoes)
29th-30th- Make Kumatora's dress, touch up my wig, make extra Mother 3 props, style Dusters wig

I HATE EVERYTHING.

WHY DO THE FORUMS SUCK SO BAD?

~2012 cosplay mofos~

This weekend my focus is on making oslapedo's commission, and finishing Man of the Public's cosplay-related birthday presents. Then this week I need to make Slowpoke because JNHS wants me to wear it for their float in the homecoming parade, which is on Friday.

My plan is to get a base glove for Tidus' gauntlet tomorrow, and start working on that. I think it's going to be one of the hardest parts of that cosplay, so I think I should get it out of the way early.

I NEED TO ORDER MY LEA WIG OR IRENE IS GOING TO KILL ME.

I've got to get some gray dye (who the hell sells GREY dye?) for my Scout pants, because they're too light, get the belt figured out (likely have to make it), aquire dog tags, find laces for my shoes, paint white stripes on my shoes, and make the headset. Which includes getting the stuff to make the headset out of.

Luckily I have until Halloween to do all that, so I should be fine... oh what's that you say? School every weekday and this is my last weekend that I'll be not out of town until Halloween? Gorram it.

Try black Rit? I know a few people who've used it trying to dye their clothes black and ended up with a nice shade of grey. You'll probably want to test some scraps, so you don't accidentally dye it too dark.

15th-17th- Finish Ramona's Hammer, dye wig for a friend, Make Duster from Mother 3 for my boyfriend, make Butterfree dress for Dubaby, Finish Game Scott for my boyfriend TRY TO DO THIS ALL WHILE MY BIRTHDAY STUFF IS GOING ON ;.;

You forgot to add "make Ren my personal cosplay slave". k thnx. <3

Okay, so, I've redesigned my Mew cosplay AGAIN. This is like, the fifth time. What's hilarious is this new design is eerily similiar to the original so I'm like... full circle?

What is 100% done and sure though is the wig/ears, the tail (which is currently unpainted), and the shoes.

Hopefully by Akicon I'll actually have my mind made up on this, haha!
Montez Bailey, 1988 - 2009, we miss you, rest in peace.

!~~~No Kumoricon for me. See ya'll at Akicon 2011~~~!

Akicon 2011 Costumes: Genderbent Kim Pine, Marshall Lee

That's sort of what I was thinking of doing. I was all thinking this cosplay would be REALLY EASY because it's basically just a baseball uniform and a headset, but apparently people don't play baseball in dark grey pants, they play baseball in white pants, or striped patns, or black pants, or khaki pants, or PALE grey pants, but never dark grey. Ugh. Black Rit, here I come. I am SO tired of dying things after Vanille and Yuna, you have no idea. xD

It's because Scout's secretly a Soviet spy, which is why his pants aren't a proper American color. Believe it.
At least you're an expert at dying now! I've only done wig dying which didn't turn out so awesomely. >>

My reaction to making puffed sleeves.

First I was like:

Then I was like:

But I'm still getting a bit frustrated. I understand how to make the damn things at least.

My progress:

I figured out what I'm gonna be finally! WHOOT what progress!!! xD

If I can lose the weight- Super Sailor Mars from Sailor Moon
If I stay the same size as now- Taiwan from Hetalia!

For now, I just got to diet and exercise and keep growing out my hair so I don't have to use a wig.
