i had fun, there was a lot of energy, but i think there was just too much popular music played.. i can go dance to that at any regular club and i was looking forward to the anime/game/techno music thats only played at cons. i was a little disappointed.. :/

I was waiting for the blue guy to get R#%$d by all the girls. Awesome party kinda petered off early in my opinion though.

The music was a little mainstream but the energy was still rollin' so all's good :)

Blue man was badass up on stage haha! I lifted him up and threw him onto the crowd to surf! haha

That was my first rave dance at a con, and even though it wasn't rave music i still thought it was fun. It gave me an excuse to wear my tutu shorts and cat ears also, which made it even funner ^-^

the worst time to go was at 2AM on saturday. the music was not that good and the 5 people still in there were just sitting on the floor listening. I was hanging with Yojimbo outside and we got so bored we'd randomly run in and do backflips and choreographed battles

I went to the dance, and it was decent. But I thought the rave was a tinsy bit too hot.. so I had to leave after awhile.
It was fun while I was there though! Very fun! Next time I'll just wear a cosplay with lighter layers of clothes.

I KNOW!! The DJ during that time only played the same sheet music over and over and over again with only different words. I decided around 1:30 that i could b doing better things than listen to the same notes over and over again and left, there were only 24 people when i left and most werent dancing.

Actually, like everyone else...

The 2nd rave's dj's were cool and all...

But the songs played were kinda wack. It's not their fault though. It was an open requests DJ.

So it's the entire dance community at con's fault for choosing goofy songs lol.

Either way I had a blast at both raves!!!

Hope you guys and gals jump in more often,

I felt really sorry for the people running the Kumoricon ball. I could tell they worked REALLY hard on it but the people there kinda made it a little hard. when one of them was giving out instructions it was like trying to listen to a mouse talk over lions because of all the chatting. Not to mention at the beggining it was extremely waaaay overcrowded. I'd like to take a stab at assisting the Ouran Hhighschool Host club next year as I have plenty of Experience co ordinating events. Other then that I ended up not going to the saturday night rave because of panels but the sunday night one was awesome.

I heard the discussion outside and I seem to remember hearing the room may have hit 800+ at one point.  They were told to not let anyone in until it was back down to around 700.  Even at "700", it still seemed incredibly packed in there.  I wonder if it would be possible to only have ~600 or so in there instead?  Would that have eased it up a little?

I feel bad about all the confusion at the beginning of the ball, especially since a lot of people got in with costumes / props / apparel that weren't appropriate for the ball.  However, I think the fact that the cap had to be watched carefully and frequently there was a line formed outside can only be seen as an overall success, even if everything did not go to plan. ^^

Looking forward to next year's dance too.

Too epic.  "Two ladies at a time, people.". Though maybe not an exact quote.

Also, Maybe the ball should be ticketed?

That's a great idea, methinks.  Not sure how the people who put the ball together feel.  At the very least, it would be an opportunity to ensure that every single person that attends is aware of the dress code well in advance of the actual event itself.

Depends when you got in. ^^  There was a lot of confusion to start out because people were let down before they were supposed to (I informed a yojimbo upstairs that things were running 15-20 minutes behind).

lol, I feel for K-con staff when they say this- YES! We need more volunteers!! (hosts for the ball)
It was really fun, I loved talking to everyone I asked to dance~  :D

I don't know about the other hosts, but personally I was NOT expecting that many people to show up for that dance... @.@......I don't think I sat down once, but it was fun so I didn't really care.

I was only able to stay for the first half of the dance, so I left right when the actual ballroom dancing ended, but I really enjoyed that. The people I danced with knew how to lead (one person said they had learned that day, and they did amazingly!!), and it was a ton of fun. Next year, actually, I might wanna try to find some of those people again. Hope that doesn't sound stalker-ish.
I think I might not wanna crossplay for the ball next year, because it's more fun to dance in skirts and stuff. I might actually wanna wear a ballgown or something.
Anyway, I loved the ball, and I was so disappointed that I had to leave early. I literally could have danced all night.  :D
I'm looking forward to next year. Hopefully I'll be a better dancer, but I'm hoping I did okay this year.  ;)

The dances were pretty sweet! I loved the raves mostly though. Saturday night I was bustin' moves as Duke from Fear and Loathing, then Sunday (which I think was the most fun!) I went as Sweeney with my Lovett and Tommy in my Duke costume LOL. It was pretty epic.

I didn't go to the rave(s), but I went to the ball.
It was fabulous~
I learned the formal waltz from Tamaki (the one who was actually a host for the ball), Haruhi (also one of the hosts), and Feleciano AKA North Italy.
They were all so nice, and I got to dance with some of my favorite characters as well.

Goddamn, that Tamaki was REALLY good at their character. My heart melted as soon as "he" came up to me and spoke~
...Now that I think back on it, we didn't dance, because I was so flustered at that point.
I must've made an ass of myself.

I'm excited for the rave next year!, if there's going to be one? on Saturday DJ Jiminy Cricket played, and she was amazing!, I had so much fun dancing and raving to her DJ-ness. Although sunday was the best rave! :), I stayed there from when it opened to midnight, but sense I'm 17 I had to leave...V_V, but I heard after midnight it was awesome as well.

I have to say this years raves was one of the rare ones for me. I attended the sunday one, as well as swooped by the Ouran Dance(I was trying to find people). The Rave was fun, and I managed to actually enjoy dancing at it, last year I couldnt make it to any of them, and the year before that I was too stiff, 2007 I was only able to attend the con the last day. I had so much fun that I ended up on stage at one point >.> although afterward I ended up outside embarrassed DX I dont dance in public often and definitely not where people can see my face. >////< I wish I had more rave worthy clothing only had my bathing suit top and jeans >.> I should find a skirt of some sorts, been wanting a pleated one. But yes the rave was awesome, Im not accustomed to any sort of rave music, I just listen to what I enjoy at home.
