Due to some, financial problems, feeling like I'm unwanted in the cosplay community, and other issues. I may make this my last year of cosplay, as well as my last year of going to cons. I'm not entirely sure if I'll quit, but I'll keep you guys posted if I do quit.

I can certainly understand financial difficulty and whatnot, but I'm curious what makes you feel that you're unwanted in the community?

There is one person, who I won't name, makes me feel pretty bad. And a few others who completly ignore my input on meet ups and such.

Aw, I'm sorry that happened to you. -petpet- There's inevitably going to be at least a few people who are less than friendly. But you shouldn't let that ruin the whole experience for you! K-con is 6000 strong, if you have a bad interaction with one person, there are hundreds more to try and make friends with. :3 You don't have to feel a certain way based on others' emotional cognizance..or lack thereof. Plan your own meetups; I doubt you'll have a hard time finding people who want to go.

tl;dr version: You don't need to stop going just because of a bad experience. I hate to see that happen to people.

It's not that she's treating me badly, just I can't be around her anymore because of what she did. But, I mean I want to keep cosplaying, but it's hard to do all the pairing cosplays. And the money, I myself would rather buy the cosplays on commission, but I'm impationt, or however you spell it, and I'm out of a job so money is really tight, if I did go to kumo after this year I'd be wearing the same cosplays I'd worn the last year and farther back.

There's nothing wrong with that. Well done cosplay is forever popular. Plus, a lot of people will be new, and thus only be seeing your costume for the first time. Also, wearing an already-finished one will give you the leeway to save up your money for next year.

True, but the majority of my costumes aren't finished because of a lack of sewing machine, and by wearing my unsinished cosplays I get a lot of flak for things being unfinished.

Do you have friends that sew? Borrow theirs. Or, if you really want, rent one. I think that'd be cheaper if you already have all your stuff and just need to sew it together. Sorry if I come across as pushy or anything. Just trying to be helpful. xD;;

Whatever you do, don't go just yet. You don't have to cosplay if it's a money problem, but at least attend the con just for the plain fun of it. PLEEEAAASE.

I would say just try & attend the con with or without cosplays finished. My first 2 cons I attended, I did so without cosplaying. Even at the most recent Sakura-con, I only wore my cosplay for a few hours each day. The rest of the time I had fun just hanging with friends, meeting new friends, taking pictures, & wandering about the different events. Plus, I haven't met you yet...so you can't quit!

Hang in there though...there are always going to be tough times in life to challenge you. All you can do is stay as positive as you can & keep pushing forward! Remember, things could always be worse. Feel free to PM me if you just need someone to cheer you up or offer advice

D: you guys make me feel wanted again. I'm currently -trying- to save up for a sewing machine so I can finish my many cosplays that I've started. I -would- hand-sew them all, but I prick my fingers all the time, so I have nearly no feeling in my fingertips anymore D;

I think I'll try to not make this my last year.

Team Magma is one of those evil Pokemon teams that I've always wanted to do, but this year I'll have to stick with the good guys in Pokemon I guess : D

On the few occasions I've seen your cosplays, I think they have been wondeful. I hope that you will keep doing your thing, and I hope that if finances is an issue that you can find a solution.

I'll keep cosplaying, and I'll keep going to cons, I'm just gunna do the smart thing like everyone has been saying, and just re-wear old cosplays. I've just been so down in the dumps lately I've thought of dropping everything, but I realised if I did that I'd be another r-tarded rat race rat. I'm no sheep D:
