I don't think so. Someone could say that they got the wallet and then put the picture on. But I seriously doubt anyone would care. If she made a bigger business out of it then yes. But just making them for friends then no.

but its not just making them for friends shes selling them for money, I'm an artist I write mangas and I myself would be fairly upset if someone took my art and sold it without my permission

It's the same thing as printing art and putting it on your binder, or bedroom wall.
If you don't want your art being used, don't put it online. = n =

Shes selling the wallet with the pictures on it which is basically the same thing, and I don't expect you to understand since you're probably not an artist, its rude and disrespectful to use peoples art without permission, especially putting it on "wallets" or whatever then selling them, yeah putting it on your wall or binder Is COMPLETELY different it is not putting it on something then selling it for money.

I'm neutral. Doujinshi is the same thing, using copyrights of someone else to sell work, but I can see how you're thinking~

Maybe it would be an issue if she sold these at an Artist Alley table, or pumped them through a machine then mass sold them but I hardly think that a few handfuls of handmade duct tape wallets for less than $20 each are going to make a dent in any industry, whether it be that of duct tape, wallets, or wherever the pictures come from.

Capital letters aren't very good when arguing, that goes for all of you chill'un, they make you seem rather inflamed and unintelligible.

Now that our wangsty emotions are out of the way, can Colleen have her little lemonade-stand duct tape wallet thread back?

If you took it the wrong way then its your own fault I was not insulting her, and yes if you print up the art and put it on the wallet yourself that is fine because that is not you buying the art that is someone else, all I am saying is that she shouldn't be selling other peoples art its not right, and I put watermarks on all my art to keep people from stealing my art, i've had my art stolen before someone claiming that they drew it when they didn't, its not fun and it makes the artist feel like crap and feel totally disrespected by the person, I just think you should have a little more consideration for the artists that take hours creating there wonderful art before taking it and selling it on stuff you have made.

Yes, I never said she claimed the art was hers, I was saying IF the art was hers that would be fine and a whole other thing but due to the fact that other peoples art is on it and she is selling the art on the wallet. I mean this is the nicest way possible. But if she is doing something illegal and gets in trouble why do you care? We get your point and there is no use arguing it anymore. Anyone. If she still wants to sell the wallets she is running the risk.

I'm an artist and paying 90k to go to art school. I wouldn't care if a random teenager was putting my art on wallets and selling them for such a small amount of money it probably doesn't count for anything.

Hell, I'd feel happy people liked my art enough to do it
