Assistant Facilities Liaison [Position Filled]

Thank you to all who are interested, I have accepted a candidate and a few
possibilities and will be putting them through their paces during the convention!



HEY ALL YOU AWESOME K-CON PEOPLE!!!

Do you like Kumoricon?
Do you want to make it awesome?
Are you a people person?
Do you have an interest in the meeting events planning career track?
Are you awesome?

If you answered yes to most of these questions you might be a perfect candidate for
the super awesome really cool and fun position of Assistant Facilities Liaison!

I am now taking applications from any and all people interested in filling what is most
certainly a really great Assistant Director position in Kumoricon! Here are the Pre-Reqs:

1. Must be old enough to be a Kumoricon staff & willing to abide Kumoricon staff policies.
2. A desire to work with Hotels and Meeting Spaces on Behalf of Kumoricon.
3. Have a propensity to negotiate and discuss contractual information with people.
4. Willing to work with deadlines and due dates.
5. Be willing to meet at hotels with the Facilities Director and Hotel Staff once a month.
6. Be willing to meet at various times with the Facilities department for trouble shooting and training.
7. Enjoy working with all departments and learning how each is affected by the hotel.


Basically, the facilities assistant is the second in command and the proofer of all things that
connect with the Hotel. They will be working closely with myself and the hotel as well as any
and all Meeting facilities we use to get the best possible events and the most positive report with
all we come in contact with. This means diffusing problematic situations and getting to events
early to prepare staff and the building for the arrival of Kumoricon staff or attendees. It also means
you will be given and indepth knowledge of how a meeting is set up and how contracts are negotiated.

If you feel like this would be fun and exciting and you feel like you could pull off the job, please e-mail
me at Hotel@kumoricon.org with a resume and a brief "letter" of intent. I plan to meet with or call all
the applicants in a group setting at the end of march.

Apparently I am unloved and being my friend means nothing to the staff of Kumoricon,
because they would rather be sad lonely and normal blah staff than even ATTEMPT
to be my bestest awesomest Assistant ever!

*sigh* Whoooo oh whoo in the world wants to be in such an awesome position...

Sure thing, only I can't just skip lines this year.  Waiting in line is going to be so much of a bummer :(  Especially creation station, that stuff filled up fast!

We hope you will make it to whichever of our panels you'd like. Our craft panels certainly do fill up. To make things a little easier, we will refrain from having others in the room working on our art contest during our craft panels. However, because we provide all the craft supplies at no charge to attendees, but have to stay within a reasonable budget, we, regretfully, are not able to just keep expanding the number of people we take for each craft panel.

BTW, what exactly will your Assistant be doing?  I remember last year the facilities liaison dealt with (I think):
1) V.I.P. on a smaller level, (isn't there a v.i.p. specific person?)
2) hotel staff
3) hotel access, aka elevators, exits, locks, ect..
4) mmm that it?


Anyways, mayhaps I can "Volunteer" at con and help you out some when I don't have somethings I want to see for a while.  ^.^
Oh lol, I see it says filled now, yayz.

My Assistant becomes me when I am sleeping... so I hand off my magical powers to that person and away they go!

If we are both awake and happy and performing super awesome duties, my Assistant is the one who is on the ground floor making sure;

max capacity isn't exceeded in rooms
hallways are not blocked
elevator access is given priority to Handicap guests and those needing assistance
Nothing has caught on fire
questions are being answered
the hotel is in the loop about any changes made what so ever!

And primarily just running around being available.
