Windows 7
« on: October 07, 2009, 08:37:43 pm »
I just installed it to my computer and I like the feel of it. Plus it cycles through wallpapers like apple does :P

Anyone else have it or going to get it......Tanis? XD

Been running it for six months. Not going back. (Except perhaps to Linux once this whole Windows thing blows over.)

Windows 7 features the new MinWin kernel, with a working memory footprint of around 40Mb -- around 20% tighter than XP.

I can run it on my small laptop with no trouble.

You don't hate vista because you're not trying to muck about with the settings and the registry. I haven't had any problems either.

I have a friend who got all pissy about vista because "it is my right to adjust any part of the registry I want".
If you want that much control over your OS just get to work on Linux. He's just too lazy, lol.

I like what I've seen with Win 7, especially since it's got a lot of nice diagnostic tools to make my job as Tech Support EVEN EASIER. ;D

Another problem was that people where trying to install Vista on a computer that doesn't have enough ram for it so it was really really slow.

And the Window 7 that I have is not beta it is the release. They gave it early to engineering students (and for free I might add) so I took one of the ones they weren't using. (they have four total CD keys XD each)

OMG- I HAD SOOOO MANY PROBS WITH Vista..-I got Shaun Whites snowboarding and tried to play it...it worked but THE SNOW WAS PURPLE...You needed a patch that only ubisoft had for that game..Then i played it on my XP AND ITS PERFECT....Plus Vista is confusing to people who are used to XP Ya'Know. (thats why people hated it so much)

Anyway...someimes id rather have PIE than Vista...

I've been running 7 for about 6 months as well. First the beta, now the RC. I love pretty much everything about it. No problems at all with it, other than the fact that there is no dreamscene in windows 7 (but you can patch to enable it).
