Kumoricon 2010 After Party!

So you know how no one ever likes the convention to end? Well I have a solution for that!

How about having an after party right after the closing ceremonies?! I was thinking about doing it over at Ground Kontrol as Classic Arcade just a few blocks away from the Hilton. This would give everyone a chance to unwind, hang out with their new friends, and play some pretty epic video games!

To realistically do it we would have to reserve Ground Kontrol for the time we wanted it (I was thinking around 5PM - 10 PM). This does cost quite a bit of money, but if we can pack the place (125 person cap) it wouldn't be that bad!

Now if we do reserve it there are two options. 1) All the games would be free and 2) pay to play.

Free Games: $23 per person
Pay to Play: $17 per person

I know that seems like a fair bit of money, especially right after the convention, but think of all the fun that we could have! And I would really like to do the "free games" option because it's only $6 more and I would defiantly spend that at Ground Kontrol in about one hour, let alone five.

So everyone let me know what you think of the idea!

I think it would be a great idea!  The only problem is that some people start to go home at like noon. Would we have to pay in advance or day of or what?

Actually, I've been keeping myself from spending all the money I get for cons, at the cons, so I'm sure I could pitch in.. :3

The only problem I might have is that I would want to stay for the Rant and Rave after closing ceremonies.

We'll see where I am financially next year.  If you haven't already, make sure to cushion the prices to allow for low attendance.

If there's interest, my band could probably throw in a free 1-hour show for this event too, assuming GK's willing to let us use their sound system.
