we should have a game called survival glomp! there is a raffle, and the person who wins gets chased by everyone who joins. if they stay unglomped for a minute, they win a prize. and the game start over and over again.

That sounds like it could be fun for a lot of people, but would also definitely need its own space or else it'd get dangerous, heh. Running through crowds and people not playing = hazard, lol

of course more rules would have to be determined. but the fact that it's everyone against one, would just be over kill. i say 10 second head start. with maybe some safe zones where they can be for like 5 seconds to rest.

With the majority of the Kumoricon crowd, I am sure this idea would be a hit. It would be fun to watch from the outside, heh (I am not a glomper, but I like seeing others enjoy it, lol).

I KNOW. i have glomped only 2 times. one emo, and......well the same emo. i still think that from what i read on the forums this idea would be a homerun (is that what they are called? or is it a touchdown?) with the peeps. i am talking to someone in IM and it started out as extreme glomp. flamethrowers, porcupine shields, etc. etc. i have an idea. reply to this saying GLOMP FEST somwhere in your reply if you like this idea.

That could be seriously dangerous, so be careful. That actually happened to me once and I tripped over my own feet then the group chasing me STILL glomped me by piling on me. So yeah, it can be bad. Just don't get into trouble!~

there will be a prize (don't know what yet) and i recommend that if you are going to join, there should a a insurance waiver or something so the con can't get sued. i will update the list again. as soon as we get 8 people wanting to do it.

This could be a huge problem for the con. Last year a young man was seriously injured in a glomp fest in the park. His ankle was broken, and it really messed up his plans for the fall. Thankfully, it took place off con space, so we weren't technically liable.

Regardless of a waiver, if it takes place in con space, we're responsible. I don't want to ruin anyones fun, just tossing a serious consideration out there.

We are not automatically liable for anything that happens in con space, but there is concern there could be liability, or risk of liability which can be just as significant as actual liability, which affects policies, programming decisions, and the like.

Things like this are best brougt up several months before con, so we can iron out logistics and see if it's okay to have in con space. It's less than two weeks before con and yall are talking about running, tackling, evading and crowd-causing stuff in con space. D'ya see why this might make some organizers worried?

to be fair this topic was started July 19th. I am pretty sure this would be something that happens at one of the parks as well. At least I would hope so. I would be pissed if it did happen in the hotel and I got hurt because of it DX

I thought this was already done at the random panel of doom, where one guy stands there and see's how many people can glomp him without him falling (I think the last one was up to five people at once)

This will not happen in con space. (And I will talk to the organizers in the Random Panel about theirs).

If you guys do decide to do it, just be careful.. being hauled off to the hospital will probably make the rest of con no fun for you. And if you do it it in the park blocks, just please be considerate of the normals... we probably freak them out enough as it is
