No, last year it was at the Lloyd Center Double Tree. This year it is at the Hilton on 5th/6th Ave in Downtown Portland.

Yeah, it is a few blocks away from the Park Blocks, which span about five or more blocks, just a long park essentially.

Depends, what are you looking for in the location? (Park, city, street, urban, etc.)

Just a nice open space, close to the con (like, basicaly in the con, unless there is something cool across the street)

They should have an area for pictures inside the con, but I'm not sure yet.

Well, that's one of the more unfortunate aspects of having the con in the heart of Downtown PDX. You'll not be able to find many open spaces particularly close or within the con-space. You're gonna have to do some walking to get there. Almost all the photo shoots are going to be in the Park Blocks or near vicinity. That's just the way the city is set up around the hotel. If you want an open space, you are either going to have to go to the Park Blocks or the Waterfront, pretty much the same distance in opposite directions.

How far are they?
And if those don't work, I don't mind not having open space, just was hoping for a place where it wouldn't be cramped.

The hotel is about 6 blocks from the waterfront and 3 blocks from the Park Blocks. I really would say the Park Blocks will be your best bet. They stretch up a good number of streets, so you'll have plenty of room, definitely won't be cramped.

Well, I haven't been to the hotel yet myself, so I don't really know enough to recommend anything. Sorry. The best thing I can suggest is going to one of the Kumoricon General Meetings, where they will be doing tours of the hotel conspace. Those meetings are on August 9th and 23rd, I think.
