Impromptu Planetary Musical Tour - An Game
« on: January 18, 2010, 04:56:15 pm »
So I heard you like music. You like a lot of music, yes? Good. This is the thread for you.

This is a game. Games have rules. Here they are:

1. Every post must contain a link to a youtube video, no commentary without a post.
2. Every youtube video linked must be a music video. Static images with a song playing are cool.
3. When you post the song, identify what language the song is in.
4. The song must be considered good. No humming something in French and recording it. This is a planetary tour of good music.
5. No songs in English or Japanese. You've heard enough of them already.
6. No songs in any language previously used. This is a tour, not a "let's stay in Germany".

So I'll get us started then, cause I gotta follow the rules too.

This is Turmion Kätilöt and their record breaking "Vertä ja Lihaa". I like it a lot. It's in Finnish.

Languages used, alphabetically for easy looking up: Amharic, German, Gibberish, Finnish, French, Hebrew, Hindi, Icelandic, Italian, Russian, Swedish, Turkish.

This is the song 'Sæglópur' by Sigur Rós, I absolutely love it and it's in Icelandic.

This is Schweine, by Glukoza, in Russian.

This song appeared on the Grand Theft Auto soundtrack for Vladivostok FM, and when I heard it, it did a fine job of setting the tone for the first area of the game. It does a good job in some parts of Portland too!

And yes, you can post twice.

This is Prisencolinensinainciusol, by Adriano. He's an Italian man, but the song is supposed to resemble English, but it ain't any language.

I'mma mark this confusing mess down as Gibberish, cause the only intelligible language in it is Italian and the "English" has an Italian accent too.

HERE HAVE A VARIETY OF ISRAELI SONGS BECAUSE I CAN'T CHOOSE JUST ONE. ;A; These would be in Hebrew.

Bo'ee by Idan Raichel
This is a pretty popular Israeli song, has Amharic in it as well.

At Yafa by Idan Yaniv
This is one of those songs where everyone knows the chorus to it...

Love Boy by Dana International
Sexual. But fun.

Shirat Hasticker by Hadag Nahash
The lyrics are slogans from bumper stickers... I'd advise you to read the page about it on Wikipedia for little more understanding. orz

This is Tunak Tunak Tun, by Daler Mehndi, in Hindi. Very famous song across the nets a year ago.

Also, rule #1. No posting without a song, otherwise it's gonna resemble the "Post a picture of yourself" thread, where every few pages you might see a picture. This means you too, Mustash.

If you wanna comment, you gotta contribute.

And one more:

This is Dragostea din Tei, by O-Zone, in Romanian. The Linden trees are very popular to love under, apparently.
