Hi everyone I'm Sven from Slightly Anime. I just wanted to let you all know we had a great time with the dating game this year. It seems some people have some questions and concerns about how the game is run so I wanted to take the time to answer some of it.

Prizes:
Prizes are chosen before the game at a meeting time and place to be determend at the Con. Prizes need to be in costume and over 18. The event is not labeled as mature, but we like the prizes to be over 18 just as a precaution because of the content of the game. This thread will be a way for you to contact us if you are interested in being a prize. For anyone who is worried, THIS IS NOT A DATING SERVICE! the only obligation of the prize is to get a photo by our official photographer David, with the bachelor(ette) they chose to win the round...and possibly be carried off stage by them

Also, I'd like to mention that David aka Minilla has posted the pictures from this year's game on this forum.

Contestants:
Contestants are chosen out of the audience during the game by the hosts asking a number of random A or B type questions. The answers that are "right" are chosen basically on mathematics, as a way to narrow down the large group to a manageble size in order for the hosts to choose the final 4 contestants. (As a side note, costumes will make you much more visable to the hosts increasing your chance of getting on stage) Also, if you are trying to be a contestant, we will take into consideration whether or not you've been in the game before, and this will count against you.

If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, etc. please feel free to post here.
As far as we know, we will be hosting the game at KumoriCon and Sakura Con 08 hope to see you all there.

Woo! I am the Kairi that was in the dating game. Just showing love and support for the game, it was HILARIOUS this year. (Not saying that cuz I was a prize, but because c'mon, JEEBUS ROCKS!)

the slightly anime dateing game is always a highlight at the cons. i've been to the ones at sakura con. i did not get a chance to see the dating game last sakura con

me got sick. loads and loads of fun...it is getting more adult-ish, which is fine by me, but i kinda wish it could get more and kick the kids out.
how do you get to be a prize? i have a guy friend who would like to be a prize, he wants to dress up as a westler in a tiger mask. he is loads of funny fun! let me know.
we plan on attending the next sakura con! i hope the tenticles are there this year!

Just a reply to blue, if you've only seen the dating game at Sakura except for last year then you never saw us. WE are Slightly Anime a loosely defined group of friends and cosplay nerds. The game at Sakura before 2007 was COO (custodians of Otakudom) They are the ones with the tentical monsters you are thinking of. COO ran the dating game at Sakura for many years of hilariousness and fun. I started doing a dating game at Kumoricon in 04 and then brought in the whole Slightly Anime group for the second and subsequent years. We were also fortunate enough to be invited to do the game at Sakura last year.

Don't worry she was feeling well enough to go play zombies in the park afterward so I'm pretty sure she was good!

Hail And Well met! It's your friendly Slightly Anime Dating Game host. We're Are On for this year! Don't know when yet but I'll let you know. As for age. It IS NOT an over 18 event. There was talk of doing another game that would be. But for many reasons we felt that it would take away and not add to the game. As for being a prize in the game. Come in costume and in Character and find the men in the red kilts in the main lobby at noon. the day of the Game. Not everyone will get a spot. Sorry just not enough time to use everyone. We do look forward to having fun with everyone this year. And remember that even if you don't end up as a "prize" you can still get picked out of the audience to be on stage. If anyone needs more info let me know.

Whoo! When I first saw that you weren't allowed to be a prize unless you were eighteen, I was so sad! D: This is the year I'm actually cosplaying a character from an anime, so I'm definitely going to go check it out. X3 -excited- I went to it last year, and it's such a fun game. So it's good to know you don't have to be eighteen for a prize.(I thought it was kinda weird, since it's just a picture and all. XD)

Its not about "just a picture" its about the fact that some people whether it be congoers or conchair, someone has some sort of beef with something. So its basically watch your self kind of deal.

I want to be a prize. I am cosplaying both Albel and Temari so it you would prefer one over the other let me know. Like if a lot of girls say they want to be a prize then I can go as Albel and even it up a little.....I don't know. I think I much rather be a prize than a contestant.

We are asking that "prizes" be 18 or over.The reason for this is that We have had problems in the past with a contestant wanting a little more than a picture with the prize. It has made some people unconformable, and the 18 prize rule was born out of that. However! Since the Game is not an over 18 event and I will be picking contestants out of the audience with no way of knowing if they are 18 or not. I'm not going to be checking ID for "prizes" ether. But I do retain the right to refuse anyone for any reason. Sorry for the confusion I hope this helps.

I were gonna have one officially but apparently it was set for HQ instead of the 2hr version and the last round or 2 are missing. o well.
I did see like 3 other people video taping too so if you just look for it you'll probly find it sooner or later.
