FINE.

The following material you're about to read is from a lovely essay Demony wrote. :)

When we are born, all we do is want. We want food, we want sleep, and we want comfort. This is an example of the id. The id is the part of your mind that wants, it holds your desires. This is the first thing we develop. Later in life we develop the ego, and after that, the super ego. The ego is the decision-making part; it mediates between the id and the super ego to carry out your choices. The super ego is your morality, it is formed by family and society, and it is basically your ‘conscience.’ Freud’s theory of behavior is that these are a big factor in personality. They lie within the levels of consciousness. There are different levels of consciousness: the conscious, the preconscious, the subconscious, and the unconscious. These lie mostly in the conscious, but parts of them are found in the other states of consciousness as well.
According to Freud, the conscious is all that we are aware of at a given moment. He says emotions and thoughts pass through it all the time. As stated earlier, the id, ego, and super ego are mostly located in the conscious. We think about our decisions, about the cause and effect of them, so they are consciously made.
Subconscious is the level of awareness below that. Most of your mind’s contents are in the subconscious, it is split into two levels: preconscious and unconscious. The preconscious contains emotions, memories and thoughts that we are not aware of but that can be accessed and brought into the conscious, all the information the conscious can use if prompted. It may take a minute to remember the information but it is accessible. The unconscious is content of your mind that is inaccessible to the conscious directly. It is blocked by repression, but some content tends to leak into the conscious in pieces, it can get there in symbolic form, these take the shape or random thoughts or images from dreams, or in direct form.
These states can affect how a person acts because contents of the unconscious can cause pathology. Also, situations in which someone acts unconsciously make affect decisions and performance based on what they are told. For example if someone was playing basketball with their father and saw ‘Beating Dad is okay’ would perform better than someone presented with ‘beating dad is wrong’. Thoughts and feelings can cause physical symptoms and these thoughts and feelings have the power to distort and shape behavior.
Human behavior is affected by many things, the id, ego, and super ego is one theory of what affects behavior and the levels of consciousness is another.  These are both theories of Freud and there are many more out there.

How'd I do? :D
I miss 2010.

Two pages double spaced. Got a passing score fore IB standards. <3 In my opinion, my other one is much more interesting.

Psychodynamic psychology is a perspective that deals with people as a whole, not as individual pieces. Through this outlook, psychologists, guided by Freud, have developed techniques for therapy and research such as free-association or dream interpretation. Through these techniques they attempt to re-educate your ego (the active decision-making portion of a human that mediates between the super ego and the id) so that it can cause less conflict between the super ego (your morality) and the id (your wants and desires).
Free-association is a technique where the client says what comes to mind without thinking about it or editing it in any way. Through this method the client may get a word or image to prompt them for a thought, but the idea is for them to lift repressions so that the therapist or analyst can find where the repressed material lies. Pausing, changing words, omission, and forgetfulness are signs of repressed material. Repressed material is unconscious and usually if the client says rational things, it is likely to be covering for something they have repressed. This method’s strengths are that the unconscious lets out material, when prompted, which can lead to a proper analysis. On the other hand its weaknesses are that it is not always reliable. Sometimes experiences change over time and that can cause the association to not locate the original trauma.
Dream interpretation is more complicated. Dreams have two levels, the manifest content (the symbolic content of a dream) and the latent content (the more literal part of a dream, its true meaning). Dreams start at latent content; this is its true form and true meaning, it gets transformed and disguised into manifest content by the dream censor (a psychic mechanism whose function it is to ensure that sleep isn’t disturbed by unconsciously expressed desires that are the basis of dreams, it achieves this by transforming latent content into manifest content). This therapy is very personal to each patient. The analyst must discover which symbols are for that patient personally or are a universal symbol for many people in order to come up with an accurate analysis. Freud used this technique after free-association to develop a better understanding. This technique has its fair share of flaws because dream interpretation isn’t specific and misinterpretations are bound to happen when relaying a dream or symbolically trying to come up with an analysis without knowing what that person’s personal symbols are supposed to be, instead of what you think they are.
Psychodynamic therapy often involves many sessions a week for a long course of time to develop understanding and analysis. Generally, symptoms start to dissipate and these methods have shown success. At the very least they are a form of talk-therapy which was developed as a successful therapy in the case of Anna O. Of course there is always the possibility that they will not work or a mistake will be made. Over the course of time since Freud developed these techniques, they have been a part of many theories from other psychoanalysts who want to make them better. They may show better success rates in the future as people continue to change them based on experience and research.
I miss 2010.

GOOD MORNING SPOON FAMILY!

-I'm in a Ty Pennington mood, XP-

From the Final Fantasy 2010 thread, I want as many opinions as possible!:
Ok, I still want to cosplay from FF but lots of people are doing the form of Rikku I was going to do, and that's never fun...
So!
I decided to cosplay a different character from FF!

Here are the ones I would (I hope could) do:
Edea Kramer FFVIII
Rydia FFIV
Terra FFVI
Ashe FFXII

Those are the ones I thought I'd like to do.
What do you guys think?
