I decided to stay up and watch this go down after I realized how much light the full moon was filling my room with (the moon is frame in my window right now).

Looks like it'll be starting here pretty soon, I've got my camera ready to go. I'll post pictures after.

Well, I took about 80 pictures messing around with my camera's settings to get the best possible shots. I followed it from about 1/4th to full. Was outside for about an hour.

The AC kicked on once and scared the crap out of me. Plus I think my nosy (and quiet pompous) neighbor was across the street wondering what I was doing in my own backyard (that, or he was watching the eclipse himself and just staring down my house's sidewalk).

None of these turned out all that well. I was using a D40x with 55x200mm lense but my iso and F were probably too high. Kind of disappointed.

i saw the lunar eclipse it was sooooo cool... ^_^ id never seen one because its rare we see one on this side of the US the east coast always gets to see it. I caught it just before we lost the moon XD I love it and it was so clear out tonight it was beautiful.

Thank you. I really like the D40x, but I kind of wish I had my dad's D80 for when I was taking these pictures.

Some of the pictures game out really shaky because of the tripod I was using. If I would have actually planned this out, I would have had both the D80 and the tripod my father uses for it (a really nice one). However, I kind of rolled over in bed at 12:00 and figured what the heck. Quitely got everything together and went out back. Good times.

Man, glad I wasn't the only one to miss it. Recently I had been waking up around 2-3am and I was expecting that, but for some reason I really passed out and only woke up when my roomie got up to leave for work.

Oh well, hope when February comes, I will actually have a tripod for the show and a extension to my zoom. ^^

Mwahahahaha! I didn't miss it. It was great, though a bit chilly outside. But I got a great view of the moon and some constelations. Oooh so red, but I went to bed as it started to go back. And that's why I'm up and about now instead of earlier. ^_^

It was great. I went to Waikiki beach and saw it from there. I had my camera with me but it's old and I think it's slowly dying.

It looked like the moon was turning into a dark crimson orb.

Before it happened here, the weather channel lady said it was starting to happen as she was driving to work. So I look outside, and wonder which moon is she talking about? It's the same one isn't it? I don't get it.

I think the next solar eclipse we get is around 2016 or later. It was something like 40 years between them.
