K-con '07 Slo-mo Flashmob
« on: May 12, 2007, 08:37:50 pm »
My friend and I want to organize an awesome flashmob for K-con '07. ^^ Our plan so far is to gather as many cosplayers as possible to meet in a crowded gathering and then spread out in a popular area (lots of people) and mess with the norms.

What we will do is an interpretation of the classic "Slo-mo/Time Freeze" -----> http://www.vimeo.com/clip:98460 cosplay style. So far we are thinking about meeting at the huge clock tower right by the hotel and finding a popular place. We will then scatter to the populated norm area and act normal eg. walking, chatting with friends, or  playing frisbee at the park. This plan is very new and still in development, so we still need to work out all the small details. Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! =3

We're looking to get this event to be huge. We hope to hand out flyers and have a great time messing with the norms! ^^ Spread the word, we'd love to make this event a reality!

OK, OK< I'll do the dance....   :D
Hmmmm.... it would be very silly if you could coordinate a portion of it to be done by attendees of KumoriCon's Cosplay.... perhaps as soon as the last act walks off the stage, everyone stands up (applauding, right 'cuz all acts are awesome), and have the sound guys start the song, and then everyone in the audience starts doing the dance for a bit just before the half time group appears on stage (i suppose I could convince "them" to run onstage and "demo" the dance so everyone could follow in sync?)....   silly or  ????   Oh, someone be sure to suggest to the DJ at the dance to play that song!

Here is a video of a different flashmob of Hare Hare Yukai-- I want to do this so badly....

There is a farmers market....literally, right outside of the Vancouver Convention center.  There is lots of slo-mo shopping that can be done there~!

And I love that video of the Haruhi dance. It was actually the first time I saw it! I saw the anime later.
