If Ukraine is the one I go with, I'm planning on asking the music department to have someone play the appropriate drum while I record the sound on my phone. I'll play the soundtrack every time I run, again, if I go with Ukraine.

Soooo drastic change of cosplay plans y'all. Although there were three Hetalia cosplays I was debating on for quite some time and I was going to do two of them, I decided that I would rather just make one really awesome one so I can devote all my time to it and not just half-**s the rest. I had some people take a vote and it looks like I'm gonna be Ottoman Sultan!Turkey. I'm going to do a crap-ton of research on Ottoman Sultan attire and try to come up with an awesome original design, I already have some ideas, I'm thinking of a gold and white color scheme-thoughts? After watching and reading a myriad of tutorials I now not only know how to make myself look a touch middle eastern, but also like a man and how to make his stubble/facial hair look realistic. And hey, how many Turkey cosplayers can speak some Turkish?

The only Turkish that I know is "Ben bir kurabiye isterim," which means "I want a cookie." (I have a list of various ways to say that on my laptop).

Washougal_Otaku: Actually, it would be "Ben bir kurabiye Istiyorum." But that's still pretty cool! :]

Edit: Well, you might be right actually. Though the more commonly used word would be istiyorum, particularly in this case. Isterim would be used as more of a response, for instance, if someone were to say, "What do you want?" (Ne istiyorsun?) then you would reply, "Ben bir kurabiye isterim." But if you're just saying it on its own without it being a response to a statement or question, then you'd say "istiyorum."

Thanks to talking to someone *cough*Maddy*cough*, I've come to the conclusion (Partially because I dunno if my Turkey will even make it to kcon), That I'm going to be doing Pirate!Holland instead of Ottoman!Greece.

Well, how about you look up famous Dutch pirates and go off of their outfits? It's not easy finding pictures for all of them but some of them might have some! You could look up certain names on the internet and see if there are any pictures of them :x

Indeed, I think the same thing. That and being a little bit "fabulous" since they seem to have a general reputation for it. Actually whenever I imagine the Ottoman Empire I see them just chillin' as they expand while Europe is just in a constant state of panic as they creep up. Then it reminds me of a lot of Enlightenment period comic artists who drew all of Europe personified into a huge mob fight, or at least arguing, as the Turk calmly sits outside and smokes a hookah.

Saki: Same! I usually do fairly simplistic outfits/cosplays for conventions but this year is a bit of a challenge. I have to do a formal Victorian-era attire and an Ottoman Sultan look. The other one will be a piece of cake, but those two will take most of my time I'm sure.
That would be cool. Also, if you want to save money for a cosplay I can let you borrow my Wales flag for K-con. In fact I might even let you keep it since I want a better looking one anyway, not that this one is bad, it's just not as cool as the one I want.

LALALA LATE RESPONSE, but

I won't be able to go to Sakura-Con 2012 for the same reason I won't be at Kumo.

I'm going on this program called Year Course. It's not a full year long, it's a school year, so it's 9 months. I'll be living, studying, and volunteering over in Israel. \o/ It starts September 4th and goes to June 4th. There's a slight chance I may be able to stop by Kumo right before I leave and say farewell to people, but I won't be able to be there for like 95% of the con.

I need to go back to learning. I found a site for some basic Welsh, which seems easy enough. It's from a native and a learned speaker too. So you can hear it both ways.

Miria: I personally would like it on Saturday. If I recall correctly the skits are usually on Sunday and I'll have to be decked out in my other cosplay for that one and I intend to stay with it most of the day.
