Merchant registration?
« on: April 26, 2007, 10:43:11 am »
So, I was wondering, I am planning to make swords and sell them at the con. Is there a certain form I need to fill out? If so, then where is it? I couldn't find anything in the documents section of the site...

If you are going to be selling anything, first you would need a booth.

email "exhibitors@kumoricon.org" to get in touch with Eric, our Exhibitor's manager. He'll get you the forms.

I still have my copy, but it's technically the Artist Alley document and might not be what you need.

Once you've got the booth that's pretty much it. Though I don't know what kind of Con Registration that will do for you. I always figured they were seperate fees.

If you want to register as a merchant you will need to do that with the State of Washington. Kumoricon is not a governmental entity and does not register businesses. You probably ought to check with them to make sure you can meet the requirements that state law may impose before you plunk down the money for a booth.

And does anyone know how much it costs to get a booth at the con?

I wrote to exhibitors, but have yet to get a reply. I'm willing to share a booth with someone :/ I will be selling charms and possibly crochet plushies of octopi and other characters.

If anyone is interested in sharing a booth with me or something, AIM me (same as my screen name)

There are two kinds of booths

Artist Alley ware you have to had made every thing you sell.  LAst year they were about $50

A Merchant or Vendor Booth ware you are reselling retail stuff.   Last year they were something like $200 or $250?
