A letter to myself I wrote in the 6th grade:

Dear 7th grade Katie,
Well, I remember lots of things from this year, the strongest of which happens to be winning the Crew Cup. Of course, you must consider that that was only yesterday. Oh! And there was the time Karen
(my humanities teacher)got a referral for laughing while other people were talking. And as punishment got ducttaped to a chair.
Goals for next year: A goal for next year is something I really haven't thought about. I think I want to win the cup again, but I'm not sure. Maybe it should go around and not just stay in one crew. Pegasus needs a turn and after that Cygnus. That way, each 6th grader (6th now, 7th when you read it) would get a chance to stand up and win the crew cup.
Hopes for this summer: I hope that I get a chance to ride everyday. Not only the horse that I can ride, but the one that is being trained now. I also hope to get enough sleep!
What I want to do after high school is go to college. After college go to a nice home in a good place and become a published author. Not to mention get another job so I can support myself until I get a husband
(lolololol, oh baby Katie, you don't know yourself very well yet)and can settle down and focus on my writing.
Love,
6th grade Katie

tldr: I was a ridiculous child.
And kind of a communist.

Ladies and gentleman of the Kumoricon forums it is my sad duty to inform all that actor Jeff Conaway who has been on T.V. shows such as Taxi and Babylon 5 as well as starred alongside John Travolta in Grease has passed away. he was 60 years old. He had been on life support for the past week since he was found at his home and was unable to be revived. He was a great talent who for the last decade he had been suffering from problems with drugs and alcohol. Still his talent will be missed and we mourn the passing of a great actor. God bless you Jeff Conaway I hope that in Heaven you finally find the peace that was denied you in life.

I THINK I MIGHT BE TOO PARANOID FOR CONTACTS.

This is day 2 of wearing them and when I can feel them I think there is something wrong but when I can't feel them I have to go check and make sure they are still in there.

Oldboy...such a gloriously mind-fizzling movie. Check out the other two in that series if you haven't seen them yet (Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and Lady Vengeance).

But really...who doesn't love a movie where the main revenge-point consists of unknowing incest...I'll give a Macho Man Oh Yeeyuh to that.

Hey Soramunesanzun I noticed the last costume you had in mind for this year's Kumoricon looks to be Zoe, a companion of Doctor Who #2 Patrick Troughton. If it is I'm very impressed that you know of her. It's always refreshing top see people who know and appreciate some of the great shows of the past. And by all means go for that costume.

Possibly Amy for kcon 'cuz she's easy but only if Rory is doing Rory.

I went to TCBY with my brother today because we had a 2-for-1 coupon and it's so hot. So we walked over and the guy who served us was this super super cute guy who looked about my age, and he smiled a lot when he served us but look kind of nervous, and he gave us huge scoops. Then I was like "Oh should I give you my coupon? So I can't use it again haha" and gave it to him, and then when he gave me my change he gave it back and was like "You can use it again." and smiled at me. And then when he gave me my change his hand brushed mine and neither of us pulled away. Also the coupon was for "item of equal or lesser value" but he rang up my frozen yogurt instead of my brother's and mine was cheaper.

MY LIFE IS A SHOUJO.

I want to know if this guy actually likes me or thinks I'm cute or something ;^; Because he was totally gorgeous, seriously.

Today has been the most amazing day..... work was good, my brother won $50,000 from a scratch ticket that he got at work for 'Employee Appreciation Day', and I saw the sexy guy who I used to chat with at a local sandwich shop for the first time in about two months while celebrating at the bar. Granted we didn't talk, but the smile he gave me from his table, and my brothers excitement about his big win have made me so insanely happy.

I'm really excited for him.... with the money he can pay off all of his debt, he's going to invest about $5,000 in something (hasn't decided yet), and is looking at possibly going back to school or taking some courses with the cash also.

He works so hard, and deserves to do well, so I'm really so wickedly happy for him right now.... I love that he's being smart about the money too and not just blowing it on random stuff. =]

If he can, look into a Roth IRA. $5,000 now will be huge when he retires, and he can take it out then tax free!

I won $100 one one pull of a slot machine a couple weekends ago. Lady who works here hit 2 grand on a penny machine. But 50k is so rare. So rare. sigh

Look the person up in the members tab??? Send PM from there???

Four girls living in one room for a year - I'm the last of them to move out. It's so empty in here! @_@

At the same time, I'm incredibly glad to be moving out of the dorms. The neighbors this year were AWFUL, completely immature nincompoops. I will not miss the neighbor's loud bass at two in the morning, or being woken up by somebody running down the hall yelling "penis" at the top of their lungs, or the girl who sings like Rebecca Black strangling a goat (I'm still not sure if she's Rebecca or the goat). I won't miss the drunk people who have made a habit of pissing in the fire escapes. And no way in hell will I miss the floor bathrooms!

Well, back to packing~

cramping.... help!

Make a small pillow case about a foot by four inches, throw in 4-5 cups rice and some lavendar if you've got it. Sew up the pillowcase, microwave for 2 minutes, and place on your back.  If it's too hot, wrap it in a towel to add extra buffer or make one side out of flannel.

I'm guessing at this, but my friend made me one, and it's wonderful.

I was told by my bf that he didn't want me to be around when he saw his sister this weekend.
Now he tells me I'm going to have to be with them until my friend gets off work so I can go be with her.
So I have to be somewhere I am unwanted for about six or so hours because there is no where else for me to go (everyone else is busy) and he doesn't see why I am a bit upset by this. How would you feel if you were told you were going to be somewhere you were unwanted until someone could come take you away?

And apparently if I didn't have any friends then I would be forced to either be alone the whole time and try to find my way around a city I've been to maybe four times or be with people who don't want me around.
In other words...if my friend gets called into work on Sat those are my two choices.

Edit: My news can wait for something like this.

Gryff, he sounds like he's treating you like a kid that needs to be watched. That is, of course, the surface of the matter. I would seriously consider why he's doing this, your history, and definitely ask for an explanation. The key to that explanation is you need to put any hurt feelings and emotions aside. He might have a good reason for it. Maybe his sister is... well, not-so-awesome and he wants to protect you from that. It might be that he's embarrassed of her for whatever reason. She could be a member of the Westboro Baptist Church. o.o

And if it turns out that he doesn't want YOU to be around, then is that because he just wants quality time with his sister or is it that he doesn't want you around because you'd annoy him? If that's the case, seriously reconsider your relationship. If he wants something like honest, quality time with her to catch-up or if she's treating him to something awesome, and he's just considering her wallet, those are things that, while they suck, they're fair explanations. If he has no real explanation or hints that he doesn't want you there for negative reasons, that's totally different. If he's seeing you as an embarrassment, then I would reconsider your relationship.

I dated a guy who treated me like a kid and HATED that I cosplayed, and while he was sweet to me, I realized once I was out of that relationship what an a-hole he was to me most of the time. He would literally call me a kid and say that he felt like he had to take care of me. That was when we argued though. Which was fairly frequent...

Well, if you're friend gets called in, places like Pioneer Mall are good to hang out in. There's a movie theater that you can waste at least two hours in right there. Art Media is really close to that, too. If you need food, the food carts are awesome and super cheap. You can get a great quality meal for $6.

Gryff, I would offer to hang out with you, but I don't know if you'd be comfortable with that, and I don't know what time this is happening at either. I'm meeting up with my friend then on Saturday. :/ Anyways, I hope things work out in your favor. Hang tough, Gryff.

Well heres the 'reason.'
He said it was a family only thing. The kicker? They arent related. They just call each other bro and sis like I do with FateChooseMe. And its being spent around her bfs family and not her own plus friends. So in reality, its her and all her friends getting together. The two arent doing anything together by themselves. They arent really family. Im just not wanted. For no real reason. Just not wanted. Ive met her before. We got along great. Shes a cosplayer, goes to kumo, and everything. We had no issues at all. I even asked him to explain it more and he just said hes being selfish and doesnt want me there. Not that I annoy him or anything. He has no problems. Just...doesnt want me there. Its like I dont rank up high enough in his mind to be worthy of this event. And its not like she can forget me cause my bf and I LIVE TOGETHER. We have for over five months now. She spent the night at our old apartment once. She texted me to find out our new address to send the announcement for the graduation.

I guess Im still trying to get it through my head as to why. It doesnt make sense to me. I cant find a reasonable reason that Im not wanted.

Hmmmmm... That's a tough one, Gryff. Is this the first time something like this has happened?

People have the right to be selfish from time to time. It could be that he feels left out since you two get along really well. Maybe you guys end up talking to each other and it makes him feel excluded.

It might be like this. I have two friends "Amy" and "George" shall we call them. They're both extremely sweet people and awesome to be around, but together they become "AmyGeorge", a conglomerate of goo and adoration for one another that gets a bit annoying to people around them on rare occassion. AmyGeorge is still really fun to be around, but sometimes its nice to have just Amy or just George. You might be GryffSister and have no idea.

But we dont... if anything its himsister. I was the third wheel the whole time but when we were with her bf he and I hung out and talked. So its not like I would have no one to be around cause her bf would be there at all the events tomorrow. He and I could have hung out together as the third wheels.

Im fine with him going but its like...telling me Im not wanted really hurt. Especially when there really isnt any reason for me to not go unless theres something hes not telling me.

Actually... I'd guess there is a very good chance there's something to it that he's not telling you. But it doesn't have to be something horrible, like "she's actually broken up with her bf and it's really a date". If he's given you reason to trust him this far, then it could be something dumb but harmless, like one of them being jealous of you talking with her boyfriend. Or it could be something wonderful, like shopping for a present for you. Or something neither harmless nor horrible, like trying to hide that they've broken up only because he thinks you'll misunderstand. Or something painful to hear that he's trying to protect you from, like "They like you, but her family doesn't."

There are about a million possibilities... but the best thing you can do for almost any of them is to ask him in a way that shows him you're listening and won't flip on him (unless it really is a date, in which case flip away). I really hope he'll open up to you about it, but that's up to him (if he's brave enough to truly talk) and you (if you're brave enough to truly listen).

I'll have my fingers crossed tight for you guys in getting it straightened out.
(But... this is kinda getting close to the "discussion of off-forum personal disputes" rule. :-\)

I have to say I'm really digging the fact that my brother has been paying for my dinners lately. Today we went with his girlfriend to Red Lobster and had a super delicious mango berry rum daquiri, and a mango pineapple Mai tai...... about to leave so we can hang out for a bit before going to the theater to see Super 8, and X-Men. SO EXCITED.
