While I'm Still Riding high off the Voodoo Too Meetup I'd going to start planning my own.... *Ahem*

SUPER-FUN TIME OLD TOWN PIZZA BROTACULAR MEET UP! FOR THE EATING OF PIZZA AND HANGING OUT WITH K'CON FORUM BRO'S!
or
A MEET UP TO EAT PIZZA AT A HAUNTED PIZZA PARLOR!

For Those not in the know, Old Town Pizza,(OTP), is one of Portland's oldest and most famous pizza parlours. Housed in an old hotel that was once was connected to our city's dark past. Rumors state that you can even see some of the hotels former patrons still roaming the Restaurant.

This is one of my favorite spots to eat in the whole city with a very cool atmosphere and great pizza. So when planning my own meet up I naturally chose OTP as my location of choice.

And Now the Info:
Where: Old Town Pizza
Date/Time: July 10th at 5PM
Cosplay?:NOPE! It's a hang out not a Photo Shoot.
Price Range: $15-30 (Note These prices are for the Larger sized pizza and drinks.)

I am quite please on seeing how this is building up.

Now Hopefully we can even get together some group rates for the Meet Up.

What are Group rates, you ask? Well if we have at least ten people coming, I can call ahead of time and let them know we're going and we can get some cool Discounts. There is two different Group rates, which if you go Here, and scroll to the bottom you can see what they are.

It'll be about $110 for ten of us to get 4Large Pizza, 3 Salads, and, 3 Pitchers of soda.

Just wanted to state my thoughts about cosplaying...

I find cosplaying is just a hobby for most people, like drawing and stamp collecting, and there are times you just want to do it b/c you love it that much. You don't have to be in character when cosplaying, you can still be yourself, and have fun.
I cosplay so often that people expect to see me all dressed up every time they see me. I've cosplayed when I just walk to the store, b/c I love wearing my wigs and dressing in clothes I like to wear.

I will be cosplaying to this b/c I love to do so. I will still be myself and will be social and have fun. And truthfully, the area we're gonna be in is a wonderful place for pictures, and I'm going to take advantage of it, since I don't get that opertunity very often.

I'm sorry if people disagree with me. But, really, you can't tell me that I can't wear what I usually wear to a public place.

Anyway, I'm excited for this ^^

I'm sorry to say that it sort of seems like you are disrespecting the wishes of the people running this by cosplaying. They asked you specifically not to, so I, personally, think you should respect their wishes, not just go "Well, screw you, I'm cosplaying".
You could make a meet for another time for that.

Agreeing with Katie. Cosplaying is a hobby, but that doesn't mean you have to push it in everyones' faces and go against the "dress code" set up by the organizer. For instance, lolita is another hobby of mine, but if I'm going to, say, a restaurant without a lot of space, I'm not going to wear my enormous petticoat and take up space because IT'S MY HOBBY LOL.

If you want to wear cosplay to Old Town Pizza and have a meetup, have a cosplay meetup at Old Town Pizza. Don't wear cosplay to a non-cosplay meetup and expect everyone to praise you.

As this meet up falls under my supreme rulings I will have the final say in all this:
I didn't just put this as a non-cosplay meet up since I won't be cosplaying, no, I put it there because a fairly small restaurant during dinner hours is not the best time or place for it. As much I am proud to be a cosplayer or a nerd in general, I have enough sense to realize that bright, over the top costumes only belong in a slim number of events. We are NOT going out on Halloween, we are not in a Broadway play, We are not marching for Gay pride, WE ARE EATING AT A FAMILY RESTAURANT. For peep's sake. If you wish to come to this meet up as a welcomed guest, bring a spare change of clothes. I you still insist on making fools of yourselves, then DO NOT expect any welcome for me, or the rest of my party.

I don't consider cosplays costumes. And what I was going to wear was going to be clothing I usually wear anyways, I'd just so happen to be wearing a wig.

I'm sorry, but how is a cosplay not a costume? Cosplay = costume play. Wearing cosplay pieces is fine, I've worn my Athena/Anri pleated skirt out because it's a fine and dandy skirt. But I wouldn't wear my full costume out, I'd look dumb walking around in a sailor uniform.
Wearing regular clothing with a wig isn't something I consider cosplay either, I was going to possibly wear a blonde wig and regular clothes, it's not like people will think I'm some weirdo for having blonde hair.

w/e it doesn't matter trying to tell ppl that the outfits we wear are out of our own volition and it doesn't seem right for ppl to tell us what NOT to wear out in public! i wear my cosplay outfits every day! i wear them as clothes! they ARE clothes! so why not wear it? i don't even have to wear a wig! it's just idiotic to think that ppl have to tell us not to wear a certain piece of clothing even though it won't even be a real costume! it's just REGULAR CLOTHES! You really don't need to throw a fit because you're not allowed to wear a costume to ONE meetup on this entire forum. Go to a different meetup if you want to dress up, it's not that hard.

If you think we're boring, then don't go. I really don't understand why you keep pressing the issue; not every meetup needs to be a cosplay meetup. The last meetup I went to from here wasn't a cosplay meetup and it was a lot more fun than any cosplay meetup I've been to.

In case it's too difficult for you: Just go to a cosplay meetup instead of this. Problem solved.
