I'm going to have to figure out my hours for work seeing how it's THursday-Saturday >:/ I wish MEWcon was fixed days of the week. I'm glad it's just not dead center in the work week.

What military workplaces do you all work? I work for a heartless corporation and they still let me have the days off as long as you ask at least a month or so ahead of time. I mean NO ONE works on New Years...even the places that are open 24/7 have very little foot traffic on those days.

I've been really surprised at the number of people who haven't been able to go due to work. It seems to me like the only day that people (in the US) would be more likely to have off would be July 4th/Independence Day. Apparently Fred Meyer's and Subway both run full time on New Year's+Eve. :/

I'm sad. I'm going to disappoint the panelists who wanted to learn how to make boffer swords and take them home. I wasn't able to grab a case of pool noodle before summer ended to hoard for the panel. So instead I'll have a panel where they can come and take turns using the foam weapons available. Maybe even line two groups of fighters up and have a team battle.

I believe the official estimate was 240 paid attendees, 40 staff, plus guests and vendors. So, it was probably somewhere around 300 total. Unfortunately, bookkeeping was not properly established, so no exact count is available.

Haha, no no. I should have phrased that different. Focus on my costumes for bigger conventions. I need some guidance from my mother and the only chance I have is during my winter break since she's three hours away. Plus I'd like to stay home for the holidays a little longer.

No worries Cthulhux, I already have my room and currently 1 roomie. I kinda like
having a room under my name because I happen to have a special circumstance for
my room so its best if I keep my own room and see if other people need a last minute
bunking situation. Right now though, looks like very one is already shacked up so...

My band will be playing for opening and closing ceremonies. Other bands/musicians are A-Key-Kyo, Sachibell, and Nambie Pambiest

If you go to the mewcon.com website and click "Guests", they're all listed there with the exception of my band (that page should be up within a couple days).
