I hope to bring Richea to Kumori. Maybe even to sakura. I have to get her petticoat worked on as that seemed to be the only thing giving me real issues (aside from the wrong kind of tights underneath that also aided in tripping me).

Well, I'd probably go more for a general tales of panel rather than a tales of the abyss panel ... so we'd have to find a way to incorporate all of the tales games.

But that's definitely a start! We'd have to be mindful of spoilers since I know not everybody has beaten (insert game here) whereas everybody else has. If I'm the one organizing things regarding the panel, I could always put in the panel description that there will be spoilers involved, haha, but I don't know if there's any unanimous decision regarding that just yet or whatnot.

In any case, we have an entire year to plan for a panel. C: Plenty of time to figure out what we want to do with it. Brainstorming is always a good thing, though.

As there are a lot of Tales games that haven't been localized, I can imagine there are quite a few that not a lot of people have played. I've personally played and beaten only Abyss, Symphonia, and Vesperia, but I have the games for and have general knowledge of Phantasia, Destiny, Eternia, and The World.

As for unlocalized games, I have read the translated script and have played a little of the game for Hearts (which is one of my favorite Tales games without a doubt), I'm playing the translation patch for Innocence, and I know where to find a script for Tales of the Tempest in addition to having the game and being able to play it.

I've unfortunately only seen clips of Graces and Xillia. : ( Hoping to be able to import Xillia at the least at some point in the next year or so.

As there ARE a lot of people who only know the localized Tales games at Kumoricon (or, that's the assumption I'm going on), it'd be pretty obvious to focus on the ones that have been brought over from Japan primarily. I personally would like to incorporate the more obscure games in there somewhere, though, seeing as one of my favorite games of the series is only in Japan and doesn't look like it'll be brought over at all.

edit: I know the girl who runs the Tales of panel every year at Metrocon, and she gave me some ideas.

- She usually runs the panel for 2 hours (which is about the time limit I was thinking since this is pretty huge). During that time ...
- Discussion of Tales games, starting with localized/popular ones and going to the more obscure and unlocalized ones. She usually has a powerpoint for this.
- Hands on playtime with some of the tales games ... I don't know how possible this will be at Kumoricon. If I had my own car, I'd be able to bring a TV myself for this, and I don't know if Kcon will allow me to request use of a TV. If I could possibly secure a television, I'd totally bring my Tales games and my consoles and let people have some hands-on time.
- Screening of Tales OVAs/Movies/Anime episodes. This IS possible to do, even if we only get a projector. I have pretty much all of the OVAs and Animes that have been made out of this series on my external hard drive (and in the case of the Phantasia OVA, I have that on DVD), and I have no issue whatsoever with showing off a few of them if there's interest in that.
- Raffle off one or two figurines during the panel. I ... don't know if I'll have the money to invest in figurines to be raffled off, to be honest, but if I have the means to afford just one, I may be able to do that.

We don't have to do everything exactly like Metrocon's Tales of Panel, since this is Kumoricon and we can add on to things or take away things as we see fit. C: But I thought these suggestions from Taisa were pretty darn awesome.

Also, she recommends having an assistant who knows the series well enough to help out with things. If I end up getting the panel together, would anybody want to help out?

That all sounds great actually ! I do have a Ion figurine that i wouldn't mind tossing > > ... I may know a place for Tales stuff as well.
But I love the ideas <3 Metrocon seems soo coool - I LOVE ITTTT . Kumoricon doesn't have anything with Tales which makes me sad.
I SEE A BRIGHT FUTUUURE ~ more people to get into this c; one of each character.

I'm not entirely certain, but I believe that some projectors have input jacks that would work for the audio/visual plugs for a gaming system. I'm willing to volunteer to bring my dearly beloved Gamecube and some controllers. I only have the Tales of Symphonia game though, as well as episodes of the animation for that series, if you'd like me to bring them, too.

Well, anything that could help would be wonderful. =D I'm a giant Tales nerd, so I do have a lot of consoles and games that I could offer up for a little bit if we can find a way to have some hands-on playtime. I'd say considering the timeframe that we have, though, we'd have to choose between either a screening of the animations or hands-on playtime, because those are the two things that would take up the most time. Two hours goes by really quickly. C:

There are pros and cons to both, though. I may have to do some checking with some of the other staffers sometime down the road about some of these; the Tales of the Abyss anime and the Tales of Vesperia movie in particular. I know that the TotA anime has plans of being released stateside, and the ToV movie is set to be released in early 2012, dubbed (or that's what wiki says), so there actually may be some conflicts regarding that.

Buuuut in any case, we have a lot of time to figure things out, so. C: we'll come up with something.

edit: also, I reeeeally want to see people cosplaying from Tales of Hearts. ;; That's one of my favorite tales games. I'd cosplay from it, but my favorite character's outfit is one that I wouldn't wear well at all ...

@ Gwar - that's totally fine! ^^ Thank you for adding me! I'm pretty shy and feel odd being the only Tales of Hearts xD But oh well right? ^_^

I'm planning to get a dressform actually in January and that'll help me modify the skirt pattern for Richea, so I can make a new one that'll fit much better. Still not sure on the base, if it should be a petticoat or what... I'm thinking a petticoat attached to the skirt itself, and probably a 3 tier one...
