t about the children in Africa who are being forced to become soldiers (they are 6-12 years old when kidnapped).
There was a story in there about a boy who watched his brother be killed.
See, these guys want to get people to help and what they want to do is gather in some cities (its Portland for the Oregonians) and wait until a politician or a celebrity notices us.
Yeah it sounds weird coming from me but me and my friends are thinking about joining it. I just wanted to see if anyone else knew about it. We had heard about it from school.

Oh and the reason this guy kidnaps kids is to have soldiers for the war thats been going on in Uganda.

I guess they didn't mention what they do to young girls, eh? Yeah, that! But in some countries, such as Cote D'Ivoire, they took girls and made them soldiers too.

And let's not forget the Darfur region of the Sudan, of which the president has a warrant out for his arrest by the international community.

They look kind of like used rifle rounds to me.

Anyway, I'm all for ending genocide and civil conflict in 3rd world countries, but I don't like providing my support for such causes in such a detached manner.  If you feel passionate about an issue, learn how to write a letter, or even just make a phone call.  Politicians are aware of issues like this--rallying and demonstrating isn't the most effective way to get things done.  Want to end the genocide?  Want to fix the world?  Tell your political representatives (not just house representatives--tell all of the officials you've elected to represent your greater interests) that you'd like to see greater focus on resolving global conflicts.  Tell them that you'd like to see diplomatic initiatives.  Tell them you'd like to see more support for medical   and educational efforts in developing countries.  Tell them you'd like to see the U.S. supporting the development of a firm and effective legal system in these countries, so that they can eventually self-contain and eliminate these issues.  Don't fool yourself into thinking you're making a committed difference just by joining a mailing list and showing up at a protest.

If you can write a letter that is clear and effective, age is nothing.  You don't need to say, "Hi, my name is Agwoeiaja Dieowijwf.  I'm not old enough to vote, but I think my position on this matter is important!" if you write a letter.  A letter from a concerned citizen is a letter from a concerned citizen.  I wish someone had the balls to tell me to write a letter to my reps when I was 15.  It would have kept me from half-supporting issues.  I don't write long, hand-written letters in legible font unless I really mean what I say, so it would have pressured me to research issues, and go to greater lengths to become involved and passionate about issues like where our military efforts and tax dollars go.

My boy's brother is the same way except he primps. A lot. He's super smart, too. Got an internship at Harvard over the summer. To top it off, he works out like crazy at the gym. He's like a Bizarro Jock.

And I make my boyfriend to be worse than he is. He's really nice, but he does hate crying and likes to annoy me with his self-praising. He's not serious about that, just partial to getting my goat. I wouldn't date him if he was as horrible as my post below. Haha. I was going for dramatic effect. Sorry.

Seriously, though, Latvia from Hetalia baffled me to no end. Why would Latvia be the baby of the group? They have wild boars in that country. Wild boars! And harsh winters and starvation when it was a part of the Soviet Union!

And my GOD they have good food. Ugh. His mom's amazing.

Well I will suggest that to a good writer. Me and the rest of my class have issues with writing letters for our job shadows....not sure how great it would be for us to write a senator or someone like that.

Seriously, though, you should see some of the messes I have to clean up, and I have to do it a few times nearly every day.  Remember that.  If you go hang out with your schoolmates at a Taco Bell, smack them around for me if they act like chimps, okay?

Thankfully no.  Rap drives me nuts.  Now that I have this to prepare for, I shall say, "I'm sorry, but I don't speak Swahili.  Could you translate that into English for me, please?"

We clean up at our Taco Bell. Our school cafeteria too. At least my group of friends do. The students around here can get banned from a certain area if we're being unruly and causing messes, so we always remember to clean up after ourselves so we can still have the option of going off campus to Taco Bell/McDonald's/Big Lots/WinCo/etc for lunch.

Perhaps so.  I remember when I was a wee lad my grandpa once yelled at me for knocking over a glass of water; I was 6 or 7 at the time.  To this day, I hate leaving a mess at a public restaurant.  I would even clean up garbage left behind by some lazy ox at McDonald's from time to time.

When I'm walking around stores and I see something that's not right (like a sweater hanging off a hanger in a clothing store, or a pack of gum that's in the wrong place) I just HAVE to fix it. It gets so bad that sometimes I'll wander away from my mom when she's talking... xD
