Here is a quick picture of my claw. I am just about finished with Darc. There is one small thing left that will not take very long to do. But the scales are painted. I think I am going to try them all on tomorrow and see how they look. In this picture they are not attached to my hand and arm at all, my hand is just in the fingers of the glove. When I wear the costume the edges will be stuck down and it will be more form fitting.

For my maid dress for Konata, my mom's going to buy some black fabric and a zipper to extend the dress a bit, since it doesn't fit and it's going to be impossible to fix the back of it.

But I got ALMOST all the fabric and supply I would need for both of my cosplays!
I still need a few things, but I'm waiting to go to mill end depot to get those last things.

So I decided to do something really mellow this year, given last year's cosplay was so involved. I had planned on doing Fuko from Clannad:

..but in trying to convince my hubby to cosplay, he chose Takizawa. This naturally led me to Saki. We can now cosplay from the same series for the first time!

I can now legitimately post on this thread.. so late, I know! XD

Saki:
Bought the hat, pink turtle-neck, and green jacket. Already had the white scarf and jeans.
Found a wig online; just need to order it.
Need to take in the green jacket (too big

Will be going again to Goodwill in search of: red coat/jacket, boots, pink dress, red sneakers, red purse.

Also looking for a brown husky for Angelica (any suggestions?) and will need to make wings.

Takizawa:
Already have white/black shirt, jeans, and black shoes... possibly the suit.
Found a wig; just need to order it.
Will be going back to Goodwill for the green jacket.
In search of an old flip phone that I'll modify in the likeness of the Selecaos' - that'll be the hardest part!

My mom and I are planning to "reconstruct" on my maid dress for Konata, since there's no way I'm going to fit into it perfectly by the time the con starts. When we have time, we're going to buy black fabric and a zipper and "extend" the waist of the dress a bit.

A part of me wants to say "Yes" just because it's how I would've done it. However, it's a pretty dark shade of green, so unless you were looking to do white or light green question marks, I would skip placing them on the jacket.

In other news, I cut out my mask and am working on painting it, and I carved a large ? for my staff.
Tomorrow I'm probably gonna wonder to my costume shop to get a bowler and monocal (for Anti-Cosmo). May also get green tights and fishnet for my genderbent Riddler~

This is a thing that's happening. My original Day 3 plan was discarded because it was going to be boiling hot and also because I marathoned Gravity Falls and realized I have half a Dipper cosplay already.

Nearly done painting the polka dot pants for my Gamzee cosplay. I picked up a sweet wig today for about 12 bucks, but I'm worried it's too short. :T
As well I've got the horns all shaped and what-not, I just need to sand 'em a bit and paint them. I'm surprised I could get all of this together so quickly actually. Also, I found a costume shop with that Ben Nye Creme Liner stuff that I'll need. I think "cadaver grey" looks like it'll be the perfect color, and they have white as well. Not sure if they have any darker greys, though. I'll be picking that up in about a week. Other than that, I just need the arm socks and t-shirt.

On the subject of the horns, anyone know how I can keep them attached? Like, I know a headband should work, but how do I connect them to the headband? They don't have wooden dowels in the center as suggested by that one tutorial, so I can't exactly drill screws into them. :F
