well i'm not sure if i'll be able to go to the staff meeting cuz it's at one of the staff's house. so if it's in portland i can go to that, and it's from 1-4pm so i can make it around 4 ;~;

That's fine ^^; Hell, I'm probably not even going to make it down to the elevators by exactly 12:30 anyway...

Also, i just thought i'd mention this. I know i said to help me choose more games to do for this, but i'm afraid that we might not be able to fit more than the white elephant and the photoshoot in to less than three hours. I was at the Vocaloid meetup last weekend and only about 7-8 people were playing the white elephant and it took us about 20-30 minutes to play that. With 30+ people, i'm guessing it'll take a little more than an hour ^^; That along with the photoshoot (which normally at meetups takes about an hour to an hour and a half), along with the antics of all the crazy Otakus. We wouldn't have time to do more than that.

Another thing. If it's pouring down rain outside (and i'm talking about the actually-getting-people-soaking-wet raining), then we won't be able to do the photoshoot outside unless someone has any ideas of covered areas by Lloyd center. If we can't find anything then we'll just have to take pictures in the mall.

Saki, for the White Elephant, just have it so people pull numbers out of a hat and then they go up in order to choose a gift. No stealing or such. It'll go much faster, and if people want to trade, they can.

there is a much faster way you guys to white elephant

"Another variation is to leave all the gifts wrapped until the end. Stealing is still allowed (up to w/e number, i say 1), but must be done while the gifts are still wrapped. No stealing after the wrapping comes off."

so we all pick a gift, and then if you want you unwrap it, then you keep it.
if you don't want to keep it, and you think someone else might have a better gift, then take it once and open it. then you get to keep it.

i think this way, we get a little fun and it's not that long of a game.

also "Participants draw numbers from a hat to determine their gift choice order, starting with one, up to the total number of participants." that's how the game actually does work so yea.

Also, i'm sorry but i really don't want to do the stealing things at all ^^; It just ends up getting too confusing (like at the Vocaloid meetup...just think of that with 40 people...) and if people can trade, they can get whatever they want. Besides, most of these gifts are going to be joke gifts so it won't really be a huge deal :p

@saki: lolol yea there is ONE version i know that in elementary school ppl could say "freeze" and they can keep it, but opening a present also means it's "dead" and can't be traded anymore. meaning you end up with that one gift

so yea.

besides, the real point of the "stealing" is trying to get a better gift on the "look" of the way the present is wrapped. like if one present looks really big and long (pfthaha) then you might think it's a poster or something, versus something that is square and thinner, might be a book. that's why i kinda like being able to do the "stealing" or else there IS no point to white elephant at all

I guess we could try the stealing rule as long as a present can only be stolen once...I just want to see exactly how many people are going to be doing this before i decide anything though (just to make sure it doesn't get to hectic).

Also, it might be better if you wait and give me a present at a cosplay meetup next year. That way it would save on shipping and time or anything else like that ^^
