i wanna know who people are going as, im super curious!!! im going as dark mousy from dnangel, along with a few friends.... going as krad, toto, and one im gonna convince to go as daisuke~ if theres any other dnangel cosplayers im gonna wanna meet up somewhere ^^
im really looking forward to seeing everyone cosplay!

- Hunny-sempai from Ouran High School Host Club. On the day we have the panel I'll be normal, and on another day I'll be "toothache" Hunny, complete with a white cloth and an extremely pink cheek.
- Mackenzie from Touch Detective. Making her outfit is my senior project (which I'll be working on this summer...)

This will be my secon convention and i am really exsited!

I am going as the Dark Magician Girl (from Yugioh) and Super Sailor Moon! My friend is going as Sailor Neptune and Kagura (from inuyasha) and my other friend will be Sailor Venus and Sakura (from Naruto) and last but not least my Aunt is gonna go as a sailor scout (dunno which one yet) and maybe Magician Vakyra (sorry for spelling errors :roll: but she is another yugioh monster)

I think it's fairly obvious, but I'm going as Ichigo from Bleach. Not regular Ichigo though, Bankai Ichigo. I think Bankai Ichigo's costume is frickin' amazing and I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. I might also do an alternate cosplay where I combine Kyo(not Fruits Basket, the singer for Dir En Grey) with Ichigo and make IchiKyo. It all depends on whether I can get a job in time.

i find bankai ichigo to be very awesome, but personaly, i prefer hollow ichigo, hes badass XD

Yeah, there were a lot of Bleach cosplayers, but not nearly as many as freaking Naruto :x. I mean, I like Naruto to an extent, but I mean come on! It's sickening! I just went shopping at Fabrics for Less (on Sandy Blvd in portland -- east of Rheinlander...in the Vietnamese sector o' Sandy blvd...) and purchased the burgundy fabric to make "Cornelia" from Code Geass.... YEY!!! OK, I'm committed to that costume now. Well, more or less since my fabric stash also contains fabric to make "Ilfurita" (El Hazard), as well as various other characters.... My stash is taking over the spare room.... :shock:

Thank goodness I'll have a week off from work for some serious sewing time. We'll see how many costumes I churn out. Wahooooooo!

I plan on going as Yami Bakura from Yu-Gi-Oh! I cosplayed as him at Sakura Con. I had fans all over. Was told quite a few times that I was the best YB cosplayer they seen.

My friends and I are going as a Twilight Princess cosplay group. We've got a good amount of people so far. Link (from Ordon Village), Midna, Ilia, Zelda, Telma, the Postman, Beth, and maybe even Malo if he's in town. Oh, and a goat

But the goat's giving me trouble at the moment.

I'll probably go as Armor Alphonse for a day, too. My friend also wants to go as Shingo Mama for a day XD And another wants to be Yuna.

Unfortunately it looks like Bleach is the new Naruto when it comes to cosplay. It was only second TO Naruto at Sakuracon. Many, many people went as characters from Bleach.

Figle, did you go to Sakuracon? I think I might have seen you around.

Bah, indeed, it is just an opinion. It's good, if everyone hated VIII, there would be nobody to play it! I like it a lot, true, not as much as VII, but that is just because I played VII first and it totally broke me into the next gen. of rpg's. VIII is really good though. I diggg it, heh

heh, thanks! Yeah, I've got nothing really put together yet. This will be my first year as Barret, so I'm making everything for the first time. Right now I'm working on his gun-arm, which (all things going as planned) I should have done within the week. Then it is just a matter of getting myself in the right physical shape (lots of toning and a little tanning). I've got some of the clothing articles in the works, but yeah, nothing really done yet. As soon as I do have something done, though, I'll be sure to let you know! ^_^

Dude, complaining about Naruto cosplayers is sooooo 2004. Bleach is the new thing to be holier-than-thou about.
2004 was Naruto, 2005 was FMA, 2006 was Death Note (since the anime hadn't debuted dfans were trying to hard), this year it's Bleach and Host club.

You gotta be keep up with the trends when you complain about trendiness.

Ah, Naruto is alright. Some choices within the english version of the series I do not like. But really, the story and characters are very good, I think the only reason someone says they DON'T like it, is because it's been so over-promoted they're sick of seeing it. Bleach is cool too. =D I just hope people don't start hating it.

Naruto, FMA, and Ouran Highschool are all getting a little annoying because of the crazy amounts of people cosplaying them. Also any anime that appears on Adult Swim tends to get annoying after awhile... Because of crazy obsessive fans....but... that doesn't mean they're not awesome anime... *shrug* I just appreciate it when I see quality cosplayers from those series (like Ninja of the Night's Ed)....

I'm planning on going as Turk Vincent from FFVII by the way. ^_^

If I have any spare time, I'm going to try to get something together to go as Brandon Heat from gungrave (Pre-death, post-chaps)

Plus a secret group cosplay with some friends if we can get our act togther ^_^

I agree bleach is getting a tad overplayed but meh its bound to happen to any main stream anime... next year its going to prolly be D Gray man or something along those lines sinces its kinda like FMA.... but meh

I think I have said this before but I am going as a bleach Captain n stuff and also a butch yaoi boy I just found out about that one so yeah.... go me I guess?

I'm not I'm only cosplaying old school (from when I first watched anime) or anime repair guys when I'm at repair station.

And Chika-kun from Ouran High School Host Club. And before you make fun of me for cosplaying from Ouran... Chika-kun is an obscure character! He only appears in one episode and doesn't even wear the same uniform as everyone else. :3

I don't understand the hating on cosplayers from popular shows. They are following the what we are looking for in an Japanese Anime convention. I would prefer everyone picking one show and the entire con showing up as someone from it down to the most obscure char over the Harry Potters and other non Japanese/manga/video game cosplayers. But even then, the star wars/Harry Potter/star trek folks are here just like us having fun. We cosplayers are already considered weird and maybe a little crazy by "mainstream" people so I think we all should stick together instead of hating. OK I am coming down from my soap box now so back to work on your costumes people =).

Nothing wrong with cosplaying as popular characters from popular anime, it is only somewhat a bother to see so much of it in one place. I'm not abotu to yell at anyone for cosplaying naruto, because that is what that person is into, it is just a personal thing, like an itch that you can't quite scratch.

And also, Kumoricon isn't a "Japanese Anime" convention, it is a Japanese Culture convention, so don't think that manga and video games aren't included in the "cosplay worthy" category. I'd say (and not like I am anyone important, just a guy) that anything from Japan is just fine for cosplaying. I wouldn't be too surprised to see at least one Jedi/Harry Potter at the con, but I wouldn't really give them any respect either, since those things just do not fit at this particular con. That's just me, though, like I said, seeing a cosplayed character that doesn't really agree with an individual is just like having an itch. Not a big problem, just a personal thing.

Well first of all I included Manga and video games as apart of the con. I placed everything else i.e. Harry Potter and and star wars outside of that spectrum as far as appropriate. I mean look at my list of costumes...2 of them are from Japanese video games. I agree with you though that it does tend to bother me that people will go out of their way to do something outside of the realm of what the con is about. I made an analogy of this on the SC forum a year ago. I was talking to someone who wanted to go as Captain Kirk from Star Trek and I was like why would you do that since there are so many Trek and Scifi cons? I posted that even if I went through all the trouble of bulking up and putting together a Captain Planet cosplay...why would anyone respect me for that at Sakura Con? In the end though to each his/her own, but I am with you on not giving out the respect for doing it, but I will not go crazy on them or anything.

While I may not give praise or understand why there is a Darth Vader or a Harry Potter in and Anime/Game convention, I still give respect to work that went in to the costume and have no problem with the person wearing it. Afterall, we all come to have a good time.

But, anyways, there's my 2 cents. Back to the topic.

I've revised my costume list... again. My boyfriend only wants to do one costume so I had to drop Rinoa (he was doing Squall, darn, I'll do it another time) and we're still doing Guilty Gear X. But now I finally know what my third is, and what's going to replace my second.

SO here's the new costume list. Yay:
- Millia Rage: GGX
- Sheik: Zelda OoT (much <3)
- Re-l Mayer: Ergo Proxy

I am now very very much excited. more so than I was.
