I went to adjust my glasses and then suddenly realized that I wasn't wearing any. Well that would explain why my vision is so blurry ::feels like a dork::

Reminds me of this one time I was riding my bike, talking on the phone to someone, and noticed that my left pocket was empty.  I started freaking out thinking I had dropped something while riding and was about to turn around and start looking for it, then I remembered that my phone goes in my left pocket.  It was in my hand. :P

I love what he does with the bassline on this.  Also, yes, ADORABLE.  If I encountered this guy in the real world, I would give myself to him entirely.

The amount of amazing basses this guy has is unbelievable.

Hey everyone, while travelling the Internet I came across this little gem. This is the intro and outro to a favorite series of mine. I used to watch this series on Nickelodeon way back in the 80's when the station was just getting off the ground though techincally the aeries itself is from the 70's. The series granted is for kids but you wouldn't think it was with the kind of subject matter they discussed. Here is the intro and outro for The Tomorrow People:

Yes of course in honor of others' stupidity to go and kill themselves.
Yeah I know, they were bullied pretty bad.
I get it.
It's so hard to move on from that kind of thing so the best decision is to DIE!
Indeed, I agree. Wear purple and give them a shred of honor in their death because they lived without dignity and killed themselves.
Hey now, I'm not saying it's a bad cause, I'm just saying "get over it" like everyone else does because bullying is considered "normal" in schools and no one does anything about it.
It's very sad that they went at such a young age, really sad, but there are people killing themselves everyday and not all are from bullying.
Yes, I am bullied but I aint gonna off myself over that. Sure I'm stupid/ugly/fat/useless/a cow but I wouldn't want people remembering me for a dumb decision (not that it wasn't thought about).
Yeah I'm for realsies on this. Sorry if anyone has any suicides in their lives (family, friends etc...) but honestly, would you want to be remembered that way?

It's not just bullying. It's for awareness of domestic violence, too. Just saying. Why do we have to make it about a certain situation. What about the people that are bullied and didn't commit suicide? This is awareness for them, too.

And you know what else is kind of sad? That we have to resort to physical proclamations in order to be aware of the problems in the world. Why can't we all just take notice of these things?

I know but on Facebook it's purple for "honor of those who were abused" or something along those lines. And yes there is "awareness" for them and a lot of other things, it's the "doing something about it" that we hardly see.

Everyone takes notice. They are aware. Everyone knows about these things but I guess everyone has problems they see bigger than this and perhaps feel they just don't care. I find that extremely pathetic. I see what your saying and I understand, it's just no one (as in someone with actual authority) really cares. I am sad about this.

You know what I love?

Questions that are difficult to answer tactfully.

For instance:

Mom, where do babies come from?
Why are jews so good at shapeshifting into insects?
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody is around to hear it, how do we know that our polling operations are accurate?  Are proper exemptions being made to account for wildlife interference?

et cetera.

I've been practicing my small talk lately and I seem to be getting better.  I'm usually so shy and feel like I never have anything to talk about with new people so it's quite exciting and fun when I can see someone I don't even know and just start talking to them. ^^

I've also been observing people that became my friends or customers that really seem to like me at work.  I've noticed a trend that pops up.  In almost all the cases, especially with customers, the people that really like me and always come in to say hi are the people that I took the time to notice something about.  For instance, this really super cute nerdy girl was in the store today ^///^ and it had been awhile since I saw her.  She seemed really happy to see me (!) and I spoke with her for a few minutes.  She also introduced me to her mom, who happened to be shopping with her.  How did I get to know her?  Well, I had seen her in the store a few times and one time I saw her she was wearing a Gryffindor jacket.  So I thought, "okay, cute girl, she's wearing something nerdy.. just say something about it to her."

People like it when you notice things about them, even if it it's not a big deal.  I'm sure we've all had an experience where someone noticed something unique about us and it brightened our day.  Yet, many of us (myself included) often feel too shy and timid to give other people that same joy.  To which I say, no more shall this be the case! ^^

(On a sort of embarrassing note .. as the girl was leaving, she says, "Bye, Derek!" -- and I realized .. I don't know her name. *dun dun dunnnn*)

Why are people calling you Derek?  ;)  Just kiddin', I know what you mean, haha.  But really, it's because we never did any sort of formal introductions and she just picked up my name from my name tag. ^^

Way to be bro! Now you just need to get her number or invite hre out to lunch or something. ;D  I really hate when I don't remember a name though...I have been caught witht that one a few times lol. As far as talking to people though...I don't usually have an issue with it. I love talking to people so I don't shy away no matter who it is...that's just me though.

I also was talking to this girl in my Calculus class that I thought was cute the other day. ^^  I noticed she was waiting outside the teacher's office (as was I), so I figured hey. . I should ask her if that's why she's there.  She said yes.  So I was curious if she had a question about a homework problem, like I did.  Nope, turns out she's a financial adviser for ASCC at the school. We bantered for a few more moments about various topics, then there was a slight dead space in the conversation.  So I realized, "Hey, perfect time to introduce myself."  I turned to directly face her, did my introduction, and looked her directly in the eye. ^^  She looked like she blushed a little but when I did it, too.  I kinda wanna ask her to hang out sometime. ^^  She seems like she could be kinda nerdy, too XD

In the past, I totally would have just completely avoided any conversation with her.  I may have noticed her standing where I was also standing before, but I probably would have just awkwardly smiled and made a "heh" sound or something while avoiding eye contact. ^^

I never remember to ask the names of the people I talk to in classes, and then once it reaches a certain point I feel too embarrassed to ask. So normally I just make up a nickname for them... people laugh and think I'm joking, little do they know it's all a ruse to keep me from looking stupid. XD

I'm so going to have to remember this. At my job you usually only see the same people for a day or two so people rarely learn each other's names, but then you make friends with certain people you see frequently and you can't remember if you've learned their names or not... Plus after three or four days of working together, it's awkward to ask someone their name. Hahaha.

Hhhmmm, I've never tried that before XD
I might have to use it sometime.

It works pretty darn well sometimes, there was a kid in my psych class my junior year of high school who I sat by and my friend and I talked to all the time. Then we realized after a month that we had no idea what his name was and the teacher would never call on him and we couldn't sneak a peak off of his papers. so one day I just turned at him and was like "You know you always struck me more as a Scott... or a Logan... maybe Scott Logan." He thought it was funny, and by the end of the year pretty much everyone in ur section of the class called him that. XD

Found out a year later his name is Michael when he started dating a friend of mine... still think Scott fits him better.

I hate to go off the path of the current conversation, but I am pretty 'grrrr' right now.
My winterbreak ends at the 2nd of January. Like, my school has school on the 2nd *dislike*
Next con: Kumoricon
Make sure to pop in to the Tiptoe Through the TARDIS panel this year.
It is going to be...

You know, I really hate to complain, but I keep getting reminded by everyone around me how lonely I am and it really sucks.
I miss 2010.
