I made it to South Dakota on my "Road Trip to Iowa". I got to go to Mt. Rushmore for the first time with was pretty awesome. We also found a Flintstones Campground/Theme park. It was pretty interesting. I'll be making it to Iowa tomorrow though. I'm excited to get out of the car.

Well from the looks of it, I'm not going to be able to make a new cosplay for Kumoricon this year. I don't have enough money to pay for Kumoricon AND a new cosplay. I probably will just improve my Wario cosplay from last year, make a better mustache, get something better than tape to hold it to my face, and get padding/foam in the helmet so it wont shift on my head as much.

RAWR...I'm mad and sad...I like really want a new computer because I want/NEED to play this game coming out in September..(Aion) it looks really amazing but my computer barely plays WoW...i would quit WoW for it even!

Why do people do secret cosplays? If it's a secret, then you must be planning on surprising people with it, yes? But doesn't it have to be a well-known character then? I mean, it would be pretty pointless to try and surprise everyone by cosplaying that guy in the background who was buying some chips in the convenience store at the gas station.

On the other hand, if you did a popular character, your super secret cosplay would already be competing against like 6 other of the same characters there.

Just out of curiosity...

Well...i think instead of buying my Axel cosplay I'll either not do it..or try and make it myself...that would save about two hundred dollars..but that's not nearly enough for a computer >,<

This is why I cosplayed as Wario last year: He's a well known character, but not a lot of people want to cosplay as him, especially his Warioware/Smash Bros. outfit.

Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of stuff like that where I can just choose to not spend money; I've already done that to a significant extent.  At best, I can opt to play DDR at home now instead of at the arcade.  It's something, I guess. :P

Getting a mid-1980's Westfalia Vannagon is pretty much my top priority in my life right now, because that's pretty much going to be my home for 3-6 years, and I have to get it before my dad moves to Pennsylvania because I won't be able to live in his basement at that point. :P

Student housing would be the next option down the line, which I could tolerate, but that would require me to finish up at CCC and move on to a 4-year with dorms.

So essentially, I would be saving up $800 to drop on a new computer for Diablo 3, but I've now got a $2000+ expense between me and that deficit. :P

I've also calculated (which is also most likely wrong) if i start working tomorrow at a job i was offered for 2 hours a day (i could also go over those hours) working for a little over minimum wage..i could have about 1000 dollars (or more) by the end of summer...which the game is also released in september. I could also do other little jobs around the park which my grandparents manage..so i should probably just start working >,<

There's a pretty significant collection of people who play Magic: The Gathering in the community center though.  I don't know if they're there much in the Summer, but Fall, Winter, and Spring they are.  Most of them are also into anime.  Might be a good place to start hanging out if you're just looking to find people who share some interests.
