If I dont though I think that as long as I have ID it should be fine for me to be out late and go to the 18 and up things.

Watching My little pony: Friendship is magic for the first time.
It's possibly one of the cutest shows i've ever seen.
Not as much as the original My Little Pony Tales might have been on the old Disney Channel.
The old Care Bears top the new CG ones too.

Now the new Thundercats coming up, they look like a welcome sight.

So, I was just hanging out with my two youngest nieces, ages 7 and 8.  I was thinking, "Man, it'd sure be fun to take them on a picnic to the park."

Then they proceeded to squish me on the couch repeatedly then pull my socks off.  I tried to fight back by sticking my feet in their face and threatening to make them smell my feet.  But that didn't deter them much, as my youngest niece stuck her nose right on my foot and then started tickling my feet all over.  Then, they pulled me off the couch.  And tried to fart on me.  :(  xD

Uhhhhhhhhh.. having second thoughts on that whole picnic thing...  ;)

DUMB LAWS!!!  ONE PER STATE!!!  I WANNA TEST THESE OUT!!!  (Not really, but it could be fun... maybe...)  (BTW, I am not, by any means, advising others to commit illegal acts, so don't do it).

Alabama - It is legal to drive the wrong way down a one-way street if you have a lantern attached to the front of your automobile.
Alaska - Owners of flamingos may not let their pet into barber shops.
Arizona - Donkeys cannot sleep in bathtubs.
Arkansas - A man can legally beat his wife, but not more than once a month.
California - It is a misdemeanor to shoot at any kind of game from a moving vehicle, unless the target is a whale.
Colorado - One may not mutilate a rock in a state park.
Connecticut - It is illegal for a man to kiss his wife on Sunday.
Delaware - It is illegal to fly over any body of water, unless one is carrying sufficient supplies of food and drink.
Florida - It is considered an offense to shower naked.
Georgia - It is illegal to say "Oh, Boy."

Hawai'i - Coins are not allowed to be placed in one's ears.
Idaho - You may not fish on a camel's back, or a giraffe's.
Illinois - Ice skating at the Riverside pond during the months of June and August is prohibited.
Indiana - Baths may not be taken between the months of October and March.
Check forgery can be punished with public flogging up to 100 stripes.
The value of Pi is 3.2, and not 3.1415.
It is illegal for barbers to threaten to cut off kid's ears.  (Sorry, they just had too many good ones...)
Iowa - A man with a moustache may never kiss a woman in public.
Kansas - The state game rule prohibits the use of mules to hunt ducks.
Kentucky - One may not dye a duckling blue and offer it for sale unless more than six are for sale at once.
Louisiana - Biting someone with your natural teeth is "simple assault," while biting someone with your false teeth is "aggravated assault."
Maine - To stroll down the street playing a violin is against the law.
Maryland - It's illegal to take a lion to the movies.

Massachusetts - An old ordinance declares goatees illegal unless you first pay a special license fee for the privilege of wearing one in public.
                       Quakers and witches are banned.
Bullets may not be used as currency.
An ordinance prohibits the use of space guns.  (More multiples...)
Michigan - It is against the law to serenade your girlfriend.
Minnesota - A person may not cross state lines with a duck atop his head.
Mississippi - It is unlawful to shave in the center of main street.
Missouri - It shall be unlawful to provide beer or other intoxicants to elephants.
Montana - It is a misdemeanor to show movies that depict acts of felonious crime.
Nebraska - It is Illegal to go whale fishing.
Nevada - Everyone walking the streets is required to wear a mask.
New Hampshire - If a person is caught raking the beaches, picking up litter, hauling away trash, building a bench for the park, or many other kind things without a permit, he/she may be fined $150 for ''maintaining the national forest without a permit''.
New Jersey - It is illegal to sell ice cream after 6pm, unless the customer has a note from his doctor.  (Dr. House...?)

New Mexico - You may not carry a lunchbox down Main Street.
New York - You may only water your lawn if the hose is held in your hand.
On a side note, It is illegal for a woman to be on the street wearing "body hugging clothing," but she may go topless in public, providing it is not being used as a business. :-\
North Carolina - Organizations may not hold their meetings while the members present are in costume.
North Dakota - One may be jailed for wearing a hat while dancing, or even for wearing a hat to a function where dancing is taking place.
Ohio - It is illegal for more than five women to live in a house.
Oklahoma - Oklahoma will not tolerate anyone taking a bite out of another's hamburger.
OREGON - Canned corn is not to be used as bait for fishing.
Juggling is strictly prohibited without a license.
It's against the law for a wedding ceremony to be performed at a skating rink.  (SCREW YOU, OREGON!  I'M GONNA DO THIS!!!)
Pennsylvania - Any motorist driving along a country road at night must stop every mile and send up a rocket signal, wait 10 minutes for the road to be cleared of livestock, and continue.
Rhode Island - It is considered an offense to throw pickle juice on a trolley.
South Carolina - It is perfectly legal to beat your wife on the court house steps on Sundays.
The drinking age on Furman University campus is 60 years old.

South Dakota - It is illegal to lie down and fall asleep in a cheese factory.
Tennessee - An ordinance forbids anyone to sing the song "It Ain't Goin' To Rain No Mo'."
Texas - It is illegal to dust any public building with a feather duster.
Utah - It is illegal to cause a catastrophe.
Vermont - All residents shall bathe every Saturday night.
Virginia - It is illegal to tickle women.
It is illegal to flip a coin in a restaurant to see who pays for a coffee.
WASHINGTON - It is illegal to pretend that one's parents are rich.
You cannot buy meat of any kind on Sunday.  (I can't even count how many times I've violated that one...)
No person may walk about in public if he or she has the common cold.
Women who sit on men's laps on buses or trains without placing a pillow between them face an automatic six-month jail term.
Persons may not wear a life jacket near the Spokane River.
West Virginia - It is illegal to snooze on a train.
No member of the clergy is allowed to tell jokes or humorous stories from the pulpit during a church service.
Wisconsin - It is illegal to play checkers in public.
Curious, if women are not allowed to wear anything red in public, what about when the Milwaukee Brewers are hosting the Cincinnati Reds, or the Green Bay Packers hosting the Washington Redskins?
Wyoming - You may not take a picture of a rabbit from January to April without an official permit.

In Gainesville, GA, the self-proclaimed "Chicken Capitol of the World" due to Georgia being the biggest global chicken processor, it is illegal to eat chicken with a fork. A 97-year old was arrested several years back for breaking this law. She sued and won the court case.

It's not me...it's someone I know who cosplays her. She's the best I've ever seen and I personally think it's rude to say they are all failtastic. A perfect wig for Nia's cloud hair is not easy. If that is really what makes a cosplay not a fail, then there are a lot of fails in the world...

If anyone can change your mind, I'd think it would be the person who is to the forums as Nia is to Gurren Lagann, ne? :) At least to me, cosplay is as much about being in-character as it is having the third button from the left be in the correct spot.

(F'rinstance, he may not look the part, but Big Chris is still the best Maito Gai ever.)

RAAAAGGGEEEE.... so somehow after not using my swimsuit since the beginning of the month (which also happened to be my first time using it) my suit now has a bunch of little marks all over it, which is ridiculous since it was completely dry before I put it away. With a beach trip coming up soon, and this being the first swimsuit I've found that fits me right in over a year, I'm really hoping that I can use some bleach and get the marks out. FML.

1) Oregon thunder = WEAK. You need to be in the eastern side of the Midwest.
Thunderstorms there crack the sky open with window-rattling ,tree busting, cloud-to-ground flash bangs.

2) This year's AMV contest is going to ROCK.
We have just set a new record for submissions.
The deadline has not yet passed and I have been getting d/l's in from 4 corners of the map.

After several rounds of bleach and washing I finally salvaged my swimsuit.... still not really sure how it got so marked up after one use, but either way it's mark-free now. Now I'm super excited for my beach trip coming up!!! =]

That, and OR/WA rain = weak, though less so in recent years with the weather patterns changing. You can't even see much farther than 30-40 feet in a real rainstorm. Literally.

The coastal Pacific Northwest has one of the most mild climates of anywhere in the US.  It only gets ridiculously hot 5-15 days a year, only gets ridiculously cold 3-10 days a year, and rains a modest amount at a modest rate over the course of 160-200 days out of the year.  It's because of the unique geography of the region: modest mountains on the West, serious mountains on the East, and a gigantic freshwater basin.  All of these factors act as climate control, in addition to being at a very comfortable latitude.  Personally I like only losing power once or twice a year, never having real droughts, and not having to live in fear of natural disasters besides the occasional gentle earthquake and the highly improbable possibility of nearby volcanic activity.

Touchee. :) I still miss whambangwhoosh thunderstorms sometimes, but I absolutely DON'T miss the hot, humid weather that spawned them.

I hate it when i don't want to be friends with someone anymore :\ I mean, i know it's for the best considering i have reletively good reasons why i don't want to be friends with that person anymore (Normally it has to do with us having less in common then i thought or them just not being as fun to be around(which can be various reasons) as i thought), but i still feel like a total A-hole when i ignore them, but i would feel worse if i just flat out told them i don't want to be friends with them anymore. It's even worse when they try to contact you and all you can really do is just ignore them. It's like being caught between a rock and a hard place.

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

That happens to me a lot.
Usually I ignore them for as long as I can, hoping they'll get the message and just leave me alone. Usually, though, that doesn't work, and I end up having to confront them and tell them that I really can't put up with them anymore.

Yeah, but that's because you're reppy.  ;)

(Seriously, some people are so thoughtful when it comes to relating to others that it's hard to believe they're real. Such as ^. I don't think I've known more than a dozen or two my entire life, and I'm old.)

Today I learned I am a more wicked person than reppy is. This is totally unsurprising.

Not wicked, just human.

There aren't too many who belong to the Newtype species H. reppicus...  ;)

Well folks it's official U.S. West coast taekwondo my school is coming back to Kumoricon and I just got word from my friend that Otaku 30 and older is going to happen again.  Things are looking up for me.

Sad news (for me): The Star Trek sequel won't start filming until January 2012 (two months ago it was going to be THIS September).
I DON'T KNOW HOW TO GO ON!!!  :'(

Has this ever happened to anyone else?
it has.
I hate taking *ignore* as a sign of "let's not be friends anymore" as much as I hate applying it. Sometimes you don't want to tell the person because you've been through so much together that they won't understand why even if you tell them, yet you feel like nothing will benefit from continuing down the same path together. I've never had to tell anyone, and I can only imagine how hard it is being the one to cut the bond. But if it came to someone severing the friendship they've had with me, regardless of how short or long, I'd rather be told face to face and given the reasons behind it if possible, even if I wouldn't understand why at the time, rather than beating around the bush and just blowing me off without closure. The friends that might call back, do so because they care so much to know if you're alright or not, because they don't take ignoring for an answer either. If you tell them straight up that you enjoyed the friendship you've had together, that it wasn't a waste of time, but that things won't work out in the future, they will eventually respect you for your honesty regardless of how painful it may seem at the time.

I only hope that I myself haven't forced anyone in this community, this family, to discard me as a valuable asset in their life, even if it's a small one.

I see a good day for me too, in fact. The sun is blazing, but not hot enough to keep me from enjoying it.

Good times at the park to be had. Also this is the last day until panic month (August) for the con.

Normally I just try and get some space from the person, and kind of have us naturally drift apart so that we can still remain on good terms and avoid any awkwardness. As I'm getting older though it is getting more common for me to just sit down and talk to the person about what issues I'm having because I've been in a situation where I've had friends just kind of abandon a friendship for no reason and it's a terrible feeling not knowing what you did to make them mad. That being said there are some situations though where there really isn't much option beyond simply avoiding the person.

There are a few guys I went to High School with that I was never really good friends with (or really friends with at all), but that all the sudden seem to be popping up everywhere, and to be honest they're the kind of people who just generally make me uncomfortable... so yeah in this situation sitting down and "talking" about why I don't want to be around them doesn't make as much sense as just avoiding at all costs.

Both of the ways you deal with it are super mature, I wish everyone did. I had a friend (who was much younger than me so I shouldn't be surprised really) who decided she didn't like me anymore so she just blocked me on facebook and refused to talk to me. Real classy.

I just got back from my 10 year high school reunion.  MAN!  What it a blast seeing my old classmates!  There was even two of our three foreign exchange students there (one of which is from Japan).  Tomorrow (well, later today) we'll be having a family picnic to finish the reunion weekend. ;D
My cosplay plans for 2022 (thus far): Vanir from Konosuba
