OK, to explain something I didn't have time to earlier.

Arpeggios are a series of ascending nots followed by a series of decending notes that return to the starting note. This musical device is used in many of the pieces from the Final Fantasy games. In the Male vs Female thread sometimes there will be a series of posts that cause the number to climb up and then an equal number of posts that cause the number to drop continually until it is at the point it started at.
When I'm posting at work I don't get opportunities to explain things as often as I'd like.
there's not ALWAYS an explaination for my comments but if there is I want to at least make an effort.
Well, specifically it's a broken
chord with the notes played rapidly in sequence, not necessarily ascending then descending back to the root. For instance, an elementary piano arpeggio might be played:
C3 E3 G3 C4 G3 E3 C3, which would be a 4-note C major arpeggio returning to low-root.
However, a more complex arpeggio might be played:
A3 C3 E3 A4 C4 E4 A5 E4 C4 A4 C4 E4, which would be a 7-note repeating arpeggio in A minor ascending from low-root to high-root, falling to mid-root, and returning to mid-fifth.
Whereas a basic guitar arpeggio might be played:
E2 B2 E3 G#3 B4 E4
Which would be a simple E major ascending arpeggiated chord.
