I, however, have some bad news...

I'm supposed to be getting some money from my financial aid. I just found out that I won't be getting the leftovers until (theoretically) the first day of the Fall quarter, maybe the second!

GRR!!! I WAS WANTING TO PAY FOR MY FABRICS WITHOUT ASKING OTHERS FOR HELP!!!

Old Navy has super cheap flip-flops of a variety of colors. Fred Meyers does, too.

I second this, I have two pairs of Old Navy flip flops (one in pink, one in purple) and they've held up SUPER well. Plus they're cheap!

I got my wig for Rikku today and started working on it. I need to do a little more work but here is a progress shot.

I am working on the weapon now and I just realized that she has a shield on the other arm that I am going to make as well. Now to figure out how to make it.

I am officially issuing a challenge.

I bought everything to make Stocking's sailor outfit- the blouse, skirt, and socks. I am going to finish sewing this outfit by tomorrow at midnight.
I'm going to basically make an entire cosplay outfit in under 2 days.

I challenge anyone to beat me. I'm leaving to go out of town on Thursday morning so Wednesday night is a very real deadline for me.

Anyone up for it?

I wont be able to. But I could get it done by Saturday. The way I want to attach it to the glove I need to buy and the paint I need to buy....I might be able to do it, if I can find some silver. I am making the round shield on the left and the orange starter gauntlet on the top right.

i got my fabric for my ninetales and my sister's vulpix and i'm hoping to get the fabric cut out so i can get started :3

Almost done with the skirt, just have to finish gathering it and sew it to the waistband!

But it turns out I need one (or two) more package of bias tape since the skirt used up both the packages I bought.

EDIT:
Need to sew the inside of the waistband down and I'm done!

EDIT V2:
Whoops forgot I need to sew two black bows to the front lol. Easy enough!

Double posting because I'm 1/3 of the way done in one night:

Tomorrow morning I'm going to the art of automobiles thing at the Portland Museum with my grandpa and I'm pretty sure we'll end up going to lunch, so I doubt I'll be home before 1 pm. I have other chores to do too, so I think at the very least I'll get the socks done tomorrow. I'm willing to stay up past midnight to finish the blouse, but I used up all my bias tape on the skirt so I need to buy more before I continue.

GOT MY SERGER TODAYYYYY!!! It is going to save me sooo much time with my cosplay. Thank god for shirring foot! And blind hemming foot!!! And overall finishing!!! Raaahhhh!

We Love Colors hasn't charged me the money for the socks, tights, and leggings I bought yet though... so kinda worried. And their order status page is pretty useless. Also ordered a test of the body paint I'm most likely going to use, so that should be here in about a week and I'll test it out.

Hopefully this weekend I can start cutting out pieces of the costume!

Happy Day!! Not only did my Vash Duster Jacket arrive but my very first wig arrived at the same time. It's short black with pony tail clip-ons so I can swing both ways with this wig.

Things are coming together nicely.

I've got a check-off list for both of my cosplays and I am seeing a lot of checks next to the items.

Wait so they don't take orders like a normal online shop? I need to get my body suit by the end of July but I haven't ordered it yet D:

I need to go back to Joann's to buy more bias tape and to get some blue fabric because I was stupid and didn't get any last time lol.

Oh also my wig order is in progress! I'm buying my new Stocking wig, a Stocking pigtail wig, and my wig for Lambdadelta. Then my Raven wig should be in the mail~

I actually got a reply from an inquiry about that and they don't charge you until they ship the item because they need to confirm that they can get it in the color you want. When you put things into your cart they have different colors next to each item, green means it can be shipped right away, yellow means it could take a few days, and red means it could take a while or they might be out. And by the order status page being useless I meant that when you go to the link they send you to "watch your order status" it really just shows your order information until it's shipped. No payment status or individual item status. As for getting your suit... It took them a week from the time I placed the order to when they shipped (Thursday) because I had some yellow dots in my order, and it should arrive today or Monday. So, only a 1-2 week process really. If you want your body suit before the end of July I would order mid July at the latest.

I just checked, and my leotard is in stock, whew. I'm going to order it when I've finished transferring more money into my PayPal.

I'm also getting a full body shaper that another superhero cosplayer suggested to me, that way I look all nice and smooth under my leotard. The only thing I really need to make myself is the cloak, but I need to get the resin gems commissioned so I can make the belt too.

I understand but you would be shocked how easy it is. All it involves is measuring one part resin one part hardener (if you have easy cast) pouring them together, putting a few drops of food coloring in, mix, and pour into a mold (which you can get a any craft store)

Depends on what you are casting. If it is small you could get the $15 easy cast and it last a long time (I mainly used it for painting on props to give them strength) I got the $30 big one and that was enough to make about three regular size pokeballs with a little left over.
