all thats left on rinoa: arm warmers, paint on wings, get boots, alter shorts D: soooo close to being done....

i also cut the fabric out for Beryl last night D: so much purple....

I've officially decided on my cosplays for this year~
So here's the list. (=

Code Geass
   Euphemia (BallGown)
   C.C (BallGown)
   I already have sketches and basic patterns for these, I just need to get material. ^^ Knowing me I'll probably get roped into making more of this group for my friends. xP

Super Smash Bros Brawl
   Princess Peach
   Princess Daisy
   Once again already sketched. Just need to get sewing.

(Possible) Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
   Mion
   Shion
   Rika
   Satoko
   Rena
All angel mort versions of course. (= These are only a possiblity and will probably be /VERY/ last minute. xD
I've totally got con hype going and I wanna start sewing like right now. xD Oh, if only summer was here already xP

For Euphemia and C.c I was thinking of using Victorian style wedding boots seeing as the dresses are semi-victorian and I designed the back to look more victorian. Thoughts?

Just for the record, a new wig store opened in Tigard. It's by the Dollar Tree and Joann's on Highway 99. Looks pretty decent selection wise, but I know nothing about quality or price.

Got my HG smoke grenade all finished up for the tac outfit, and I must say it looks pretty darn good. Woop! I found the exact font they used on my computer for the text on it, then I copied it onto the grenade by hand. I'm insane. BUT IT LOOKS SO NICE. AND THE FONT IS ACCURATE.

Still waiting for emails. :/ The day I find a commissioner who's prompt with their emails is the day hell freezes over. Fml.

I guess this is kinda progress. Been looking at designs for a Fluttershy Gijinka from My Little Pony. I am currently kinda stuck between two designs and I don't really wanna make a new thread just for this so if any bronies, or even if you aren't, can give me some opinions, I would be grateful :>

So these are the two that I'm digging.

Middle one. I'm digging this one the most probably. I'm just worried about how it's going to look on me. Because I kind of have....fat legs and hips and I don't want to look like a big fat puffball.

Yellow Sundress, top right corner. I found this one today and I like it a lot too. I've worn a dress similar to it for another cosplay and I think it might flatter my body more.

I like both of them though and can't decide...so if anyone could offer some opinions of which one I should do would be choice.

Delicious, delicious Loki progress. alksdjfhalksjdfhaksjdf I am so in love with these horns also I got leather and dye for my belts, boots and skirt thing and I found a place to get really pretty 8th century Norse turtle brooches for my belts.

Started measuring myself to figure out how much fabric I'm gonna need. Hopefully next weekend I can take a break from studying for finals to go fabric shopping. And I'm babysitting this week, which should give me enough money to buy my Sailor Uranus wig.

Plus I found some button forms I can use for Lolita White Mokona. They are literally from the 1950s. XD

Yeah well I find it hilariously dashing :<

Also Loki is like 6'7" in the comics so his helmet makes him just shy of eight feet tall ffffffs if he tried to back through a doorway he'd probably get stuck in the doorframe.

RANT TIME.

Finally got an email back from my commissioner. He wants $80 to do the alterations. He's out of his mind. :/ I am NOT sinking another $80 into this costume. It's not MY fault the costume isn't wearable as it is. I am highly unamused. And mind you the $80 is to ALTER the unfitting pieces, not completely remake them. If he wants that much more money, he's remaking AT LEAST the jacket.

He needs to own up to HIS mistakes and not charge ME for it.

Am I being unreasonable here?

The commissioner isn't on eBay, he has his own website. If things get out of hand I did pay through paypal, so I could use that to my advantage if it comes to that. I'm hoping it doesn't.

I'm glad to hear I'm not out of line. I sent an email back saying I'm not paying the $80. I'll have to wait to see what he says.

They're sanded, with the first of many layers of fiberglass resin on them~ Might put a new layer on tomorrow, might not. They're looking fantastic so far though :3

I started on the top that goes under the corset, and it's already almost done.
I'm gonna start on the skirt tomorrow.

Just a question, I'm thinking of putting a small train on the dress but I'm not sure how well that would hold up to Portland/con weather. Has anyone dealt with that before?

So, yesterday I was with my mother and my niece. We stopped by at Payless ShoeSource to pick up some new sandals for my niece. (I got some new shoes out of it, too). Anyway, I found that Payless has this special shoe-ordering system that I think will be of use to my Sailor Neptune cosplay plans. I'm hoping to take Chan to one here in the next couple of days to get her opinion on the options.

well what i know WORKS for sure is using a hair dryer on low heat and power, and as you blow dry the area you want to have stay in place, use a bit of hair gel (very LITTLE) and then dry it with the blow dryer, then spray the hair spray on it, and then use the blow dryer on it as you hold it in place. IT WORKS! even for the most stubborn wigs! hope this helps.
