Kumoricon 2018 is a short light rail ride from Portland International Airport (PDX). The MAX Red Line train stops at the airport front door and serves the Oregon Convention Center transit stop, as well as the DoubleTree by Hilton convention hotel. Tickets can be purchased at any light rail stop in either direction. Trains run every 15 minutes for most of the day (see Red Line schedule).

Both the Oregon Convention Center and the DoubleTree by Hilton convention hotel are conveniently located at MAX light rail stops servicing three lines—the Red, Green, and Blue Lines. In addition, the Yellow Line stops two blocks away from the Oregon Convention Center. With its central location, you can reach Kumoricon's front door with just a single train trip from many places in the Portland metro area.

Amtrak offers convenient train trips from many stops along the I-5 and I-84 corridors including Seattle, Tacoma, Vancouver Canada, Salem, Eugene, and Spokane, as well as many smaller cities along these routes. Amtrak routes stop at Union Station in downtown Portland, a very short MAX light rail trip from the Oregon Convention Center.
