Uwajimaya Sakura Festival 2009
« on: March 30, 2009, 10:15:37 pm »
Kumoricon will have an exhibitor table at the Uwajimaya Sakura Festival 2009, on Saturday, April 25, at the Beaverton location. We have increased our space and will have a larger table this year, and we'll be selling registrations. This is one of our most popular outreach events!

This is a great volunteer opportunity to help out Kumoricon by manning the table, helping with registrations, and answering questions. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact publicity@kumoricon.org or reply in this thread.

Location:

Beaverton Uwajimaya
10500 SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy
Beaverton, OR 97005

Directions (Uwajimaya website)
Store information (Uwajimaya website)

If they don't sell batteries, Uwajimaya is in the middle of many blocks of stores, I'm sure there's a convenience store somewhere nearby.

I'll be Ranka Lee from Macross Frontier if my wig comes in time. If not...then I'll figure something out. xD;

...Hopefully, it comes in time though. P:

Ah, well good luck! Where'd you order it from?

And on the bright side, it's not hard to cosplay for Uwajimaya stuff, haha. Nekomimi and you're good.

Ah, I didn't know that... Sorry, I'll only be saturday though.

@Silence- Bodyline has some decent lolita stuff. Not totally sure about jackets... But their shipping is fast. I got a package from them 3 days after I placed the order! And normal cardigans and short jackets work pretty well with lolita... Try looking around some local stores~

Yes, we will be there. ^_^

One change from the information in the original post (which has now been edited): We won't be able to print badges on the spot, however, we will still be taking registrations at the table, and as usual, you can choose between mail-out and will call.

To my knowledge, the event is only Saturday. That is when we're scheduled to be there. The Uwajimaya Festival Japan usually held in September is two days.

EDIT: I read the earlier posts in this thread saying it will be more days... perhaps the exhibitors are only on Saturday? Anyway, Saturday, Apr. 25 is the day we're scheduled for.

Even if the event is more than just Saturday I don't see us being there on Sunday, considering the general meeting is that day.

I'm thinking about going out there.

No prob :P The prices seem low, but the shipping is usually about the price of the item you buy xD; Well, depending on how much/what you order. It still totals pretty fair though!  Have fun oUo
