I'm kind of dissapointed too. But I like Chow Yun-Fat (Master Roshi), and it may still be an interesting movie to watch.
Hey, at least they kept Master Roshi's hawaian-esque shirt!

I just saw a trailer for this. It's suppose to come out in March of 09. It looks like it has an interesting plot, and they're calling it Evolution. Either way, the trailer still gave me goose bumps! I'm excited to see how this movie turns out.

Hey, I was that optimistic originally. the trailer actually took me down a notch though.
I'm still going to see the film, if only in support of James Marsters having something to do with anime.

Actually, Dragonball's story went on so long that it actually comes almost all the way to the beginning of DBZ. There was a story of grown up (late teens I think) Goku going into the tournament and not recognizing Chichi since she was grown up, they fight, we laugh, good times. The storyline that introduced Piccolo did have the more "grown up" looking goku i think so it's pretty accurate.

I'd love to see a film with a little kid playing Goku, that'd be awesome. Kid Goku is goofy enough that the kid wouldn't have to be even that good an actor. Just mug for the camera, remember his lines, and punch at the right mark on the green screen.

I didn't have a negative thing to say about the film until I saw the character screen shots and the trailer. I base my scathing opinion of the film and lack of hope for it on those two things. I saw the trailer and, for me, there is nothing good looking in it. It looks awful to me, just awful, lol. This is just my opinion and is, like I said, based on what I saw of the trailer and characters and have read of the storyline. It doesn't sound like Dragon Ball to me. It sounds like "look another Hollywood martial arts movie", and about as nonsensical as Bulletproof Monk, lol.

Yeah I guess the preivew didn't seem like it would follow the normal story but I like to have a change of story some time. Its kinda nice to have a story that I have not seen before. Though I guess if it gets way off track then it wouldn't be so good.

That or a Spirit Bomb. I'm watching some of the movies now and it seems the Spirit Bomb is the finisher in a lot of them.
