SO LETS ALL BE EMBARRASSED TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In this sad sad subcommunity of ours we are faced with the plight of eternal loneliness faced well on both sides. Even tho we don't have to be alone we are all alone. This can be fixed by something. What we need is a singles mixer...

Ya thats what we need. A singles mixer. Hmmm.....

Possilbe places: We need public places such as a mall or some such. so theres clackamas, pioneer rich people intimidateing square thingy, lloyd center, washington square thingy.

Possible dates: sometime before saku con, maybe sometime after. I dont want to interfere with anything otherwise planned but weve got about three weekends to do things in (this the one after or the one after)

Rules: Cosplay necessary of course
and something to identify age classifications. Wear your badges from last k con if you have them or do something else to identify your age, id will be checked as we do not want to spread pedo bear clones.

Hmmm.... still kind of a rough idea stage. input people?

(oh right speaking of inputting people i know a few girls i can tag along to this)

AND EVEN IF YOURE NOT SINGLE OR NOT LOOKING ITS A KEWL WAY TO HANG OUT!!! ^_^

oh come on people. you aren't even replying. its saddening. Someone help me make this idea more concrete. i need to know what works with other people too ya know. Now im bringing fangirls and im trying to organize something to help people out and have fun with at the same time. Is anyone for this at all or is it just a bad idea? (i know i just posted it but i see you viewing...)

I wouldn't be too concerned by the fact that people aren't responding near-instantaneously. This site gets maybe a few hundred hits per day. I've made topics before that haven't gotten responses until 3 months after I posted them. Don't get all wound up about it. If people are interested, then they'll probably talk about it. If not, don't make a fool of yourself by double-posting.

It's alright, just try to cool your jets and let things run their own course. I don't cosplay personally, so I probably won't come to this, but it's certainly a novel idea.

The only problem with things like this is you end up with 500+ dudes and 3 girls. I hope it works out better than that though.

indeed that is problematic. I know at least 5 to probably ten depending upon when we do this girls that'll come to this just because I asked them. And theyre not all they type youd expect at something like this. Thats the only reason i can offer something like this.

(and sorry about doubleposting last night, between excessive school stress, sickness issue, and random nosebleeds (like 3) I was in a bit of a weired mood...)

I'm married, so probably not something you'll find me at. But I've actually been to/hosted a few costume hook up parties before in my day. (Almost sad to admit)

Were it me, I'd make it an 18 and over affair... or a 21 + (If it really is a mixer) and host it at someones house. Getting a bunch of single people together is awkard, then add in the fact that everyone one is in costume....and then put that in a public place... doubt there would be a lot of takers.

Course finding someone crazy enough to host this shindig might be hard too....but yeah, good luck. I hope it happens. I would have totally went to it five years or so ago

My guess is the opposite. xD More girls usually show up to these things than guys.

And if the age classification thing went on, I might consider it. xD Probably more of a hangout, or who knows what might happen.

I would, but there are probably no guys my age. I'd have fun going to this, I would turn purple (I blush purple), and probably freak and hold on to someone, but I'm desperate, all the guys are know are butt wads, and I'm done being turned down!

So I think I'll come if a few guys 13 or 14 show up. Hell, I'll come anyways to support people in their embarrassed-ness!

If Miroku showed up, he'd have to borrow Sango's Hiraikotsu as a tower shield to ward off the slaps each time he asked the question. Just for kicks, if I could find the right blue robe, I could pull him off.

By the way, the science behind it is to encourage pro-creation, since in their time wars were many and chances of surviving, few.

Which is probably not what a singles mixer is like at all, but the media has corrupted my view of such events.

When you say ID will be checked, does that mean you have made the decision to make it 18+ (21+?)?

No I believe it's so that you can be put into the right age range (under 18, 18 and over etc.) so you don't get grouped with someone too young or old. Meaning I walk around wearing a tag saying Jason, Age: 21, I can ask out someone 18 or older, but not 17 and below. Kids get to talk to kids and older kids get to talk to older kids. Safe and simple, ne?

21+ is going to be a back breaker. Why not have a minors area that the younger people can talk it up at. otherwise I'd rather keep it 18+. If it's 21+ then why not just have it at a pub or something? Though you still will have a smaller crowd than if you let everyone come, but have them wear badges with their name and age listed.
