Been a couple years since my last con and in getting ready for 2011 I need some new ideas! Seems like you stop watching anime for a year and decades of material have gone by already. I'm watching a ton of new anime to get ideas of who I could cosplay, but in the mean time, if you have any suggestions, toss them my way. ^_^

As far as interests, I don't put any limitations on the anime I enjoy. Fantasy, horror, monsters, historical drama, comedy, sci-fi...I can dig it all.

Some of my favorite anime are Azumanga Daioh, Akira, Comic Party, Claymore, Fullmetal Alchemist, Le Chevalier D'Eon, Ninja Nonsense. I also love Final Fantasy (as I'm sure is evident if you know me even a little bit).

I like big guy characters. Tall, hulking behemoths, monsters-of-men, because I'm a big guy. If the character is big in any way, or carries a big weapon, I'll no doubt love them and love to cosplay them, haha.

So yeah, any ideas or help will be appreciated. Thanks, forumsters.

EveofAbyss go as Briarios from Appleseed Ex Machina. I've always wanted to go as Deunan Knute but I've never had a Briarios to work with. If you go in 2012 let me know. I can work up some body armor. unfortunately I can't do Deunan this year, cause I have my cosplay already worked out. I plan on crossplaying Vash the Stampede on day one and Wolfwood on day 2. Also you could whip up a good Al Elric from FullMetal fairly easy using foamboard since his armor has a lot of flat edges.

Thanks for the suggestions, Drauska. I have always danced around the idea of doing Briarios. On one hand I'd love to because I like the character and it looks monumentally killer, but on the other hand, the armor has always terrified me (such a seemingly daunting task). But, maybe with enough time and work it could be done. I'll keep it in mind and be sure to let you know for next year if I think to undertake it. ^_^ Thanks again for the suggestions!

Cool EveofAbyss . If not I can always wrangle my 6 foot hulk of a nephue to do it. He likes anime enough but he never goes to the con. I've already started thinking of ways to make Briarios armor and Deunans tactical gear. Briarios might be a bit difficult but I think I can come up with some good armor.

i'm a female, (and i have a lot of tattoos an facial peircings)

* My fave games are ~paper mario, final fantasy, and anything old school nintendo 64 or older

*anime and manga i like is pretty much all sailor moon... i even have a sailor moon tattoo ^__^, but I love shugo chara tokyo mew mew, pretty cure, wedding peach, etc. all that girly shojo crap... mainly sailor moon though. also anything by hayao miyazaki totoro, ponyo, monanoke, nausicaa , etc.

* I want to cosplay as sailor saturn/hotaru minimoon or pluto or nausicaa of the valley of the wind... or anyone from alice in wonderland (but NOT the new movie.)

* I'm wanting to do the whole shebang! Wig accessories full garb! I have some sewing ability but really complex costumes might be too complicated. I also make cyberlox and dreads so i will most likely be able to make a hair piece.

(my hair color changes frequently)
(I am an ex/raver so i have a lot of old fur and spandex lying around that could be used for a costume)

The first character that comes to mind is Kagura from Speed Grapher. You've got her face and hair (at least in the bangs and shade) perfectly.

@zenneth: I think you could probably do Zack from FFVII. He has a ginormous weapon and if you grew out your bangs and spiked up the back of your hair you wouldn't need a wig (always a plus).

Otherwise, you could do Hei from Darker than Black, he has smaller but more intricate props/weapons.
And Jeracule Mihawk from One Piece has a gigantic sword, shorter hair and facial hair, but pretty cool dude.

I think your hair looks prettier when it's down.

And those special Sailor Moon uniforms that look really cute in 2D rarely look that good on real people because it's such an iconic look and there are mistakes that people make that result in having it look not so good on them. You could pull it off, just make sure you do it right.

Be the odd one out and be Rei Hino. I'm pretty sure if you do Usagi then you're get crap and Sailor Mars, as with all of the Sailors, is just overdone. But also if you want to get recognized more then just be Sailor Mars.

Oh trust me, I've seen my fair share of horrible SM cosplays >< *shivers* and I would definitely pay attention to every detail- skirt length, stitching, where it hits you, material, etc.

I have some knowledge of sewing so that isn't too much of an issue. However, I do have a limited budget.
So thrift stores and such would probably where I would gather my stuff for my concoction..I mean cosplays
and obviously, I'm okay with crossplaying.

Basically-Willing to sew, wear wigs...does crossplay..has issues with contacts (working on it) oh and I prefer male characters (although I am willing to see about girl characters..)

Oh and I'm short. Like...short. I'm 5'2 ish..if that helps at all.(oh meh gott...I am almost CHIBISIZED!!)

Stuff I like/am familiar with: I could go on forever but any suggestions from any anime/game are welcome
Random: I am wanting to try a crossplay this year. Preferably something that isn't too terribly revealing. But I also want male character suggestions please =)

I don't have any pictures up right now that I can post but I will try to get some up soon so people could get a better idea of what I look like

Jeble, you're a stick. Good god. I'm your height and have thirty pounds on you at least, and I can see my ribs clearly.

Anyways, I would think someone like Uryu Ishida would be a good match for you. He's long and lean, too, and he's a modest dresser. His school uniform would be easier than a Quincy outfit if you're worried about difficulty. Just make sure you iron and press your clothes to look extra nice

You might need his bracelet, too, for extra Quincy oomph.

Yeah, I get that a lot hahaha I have thought of Uryu but I dunno. I am not one for school uniforms, those are too. . . plain for me. His Quincy outfit though would be a good idea. Some other ideas would be great though, I have had Uryu in my "Maybe" pile for a while, just wanting to come up with others that would be interesting as well.

Well, it's something to think about then. I don't blame you if you want something a little more... creative? Not so done? When it comes to female characters you can cosplay, that's a little hard. Do you want frills or do you want something more tight fitting? Frills can go anywhere, but tight fitting but not revealing could be C.C. from Code Geass, for example. What type of female characters do you like? What personality or look?

Jeble, I dunno how familiar you are with CLAMP and their manga, but their characters tend to be on the skinny side, and there are plenty of them to choose from. Subaru, Fai and Yue all come to mind as characters with your body type (although you might be a bit tall for Subaru) with interesting, recognizable costumes that aren't school uniforms. There are lots of girls, too, since you mentioned you were interested in crossplay. Maybe something like Yuuko Ichihara?

Lychee - As for personality and look. Someone that is different, a strange personality is the best personality. In strange I guess I mean. . . someone who is quiet, or mostly quiet. Someone that is very dark I guess, those kinds of characters have always piqued (Not sure if I spelled that right) my interest. As for looks, someone that isn't too girlish, or too busty. Basically it has to look real in the shape of the body. The face really doesn't matter as much though, I say not too girlish because I don't know how well I could pull that off, I know my face in somewhat feminine but the makeup is what worries me, I don't know how well I can pull off a very feminine look. C.C. is a wonderful idea thank you, I will be looking more into that later and I still welcome more suggestions.

Chibachi - I am not at all familiar with their stuff, or maybe I am but I just don't remember. For the life of me I can't remember any names so I probably have. I will definitely be looking into those suggestions though, they already look interesting and I just did a quick google search for the ones you mentioned. Any other suggestions are greatly welcomed.

You can always try Haruko from FLCL, but she's is most certainly not the quiet type. She isn't someone you need to be hugely energetic for when it comes to poses, and her outfit would be pretty easy to throw together with exception to her red tunic dress. And if you own a guitar, bonus! For quiet characters, maybe Hellgirl? But that would require a school uniform. Seems to me most of the quiet ones I'm thinking of usually wear a school uniform.

You can always buy bra inserts if you want bosoms, too. They sell them at Joann's for around $25, and I think that's a high estimate.

Haha, well, I was originally going to say skinnyfat, but that's a weird term. Maybe "soft"?

Give it a few more months of working out, and then I can drop the matter entirely.
