Changes to future mini-events
« on: February 16, 2009, 05:16:51 pm »
Due to some information that has come to light since the dance, we will have to make some changes to our policies for future events.  For events where we have age-restrictions, you will not be admitted to the event without some form of ID, whether it is a school identification card or government issued ID.  If you do not have ID, you will be turned away at the door.  No exceptions.

We don't want to be this strict, but when people abuse the honor system we were using (just parental permission forms instead of ID), we are forced to take stricter measures.  There is a reason we set the age restrictions for events like the dance.. it's not us trying to be mean to people, it's us trying to make sure that the content is age-appropriate and that we don't have liability issues.  If something happens at an event, that could potentially affect the convention itself.

We try to offer a range of these mini-events to include as many interests as possible, but we can't please all the people all the time.  Some activities are simply not appropriate for certain age groups, whether that be under 14, under 18, or under 21.  An event that will appeal to the teenage crowd does not necessarily interest the over 21's. this is why we are trying to come up a variety of events to appeal to the different age groups.. we want something for everyone.

We are in the process of deciding some future events, and we will be applying this policy as required.  If you any questions, please feel free to post here.
