Okay guys, second warning. 4 pages of discussion of outfits barely skirts the line of being on-topic (you should have moved it to e-mail or PM).

This thread is for planning for the panel.. content, not shopping for a wardrobe. If I have to step in again, I will lock the thread.

wait do you this is a panel right? not a something going to be happining all hours of the con? while the later would be sweet i couldnt do it.

also i do believe some one told you that you would have to charge for this which is true but heres my idea

fund raiser? at the meet ups and partys we could come up with tiny thins to sell (something like hazu's scarfs, you know things anime fans would buy) and then use the money to see if we can anhiliat this charge to get into the cafe :3

if it is a panel do you guys aproxametly know what time? I am acumilating a packed schedual which isnt good because i do need to find time to have fun in the park and lobby, and actualy take at least one shift at my AA table

Well we can really chare or sell anything becuse of something about the hotel not likeing it -.-

Thats a good idea maybe we could sweet talk the hotel into alowing us to do that. But isnt Hazu useing that money to use for the con itself? o-o Or am I reading what you typed wrong? >_>

Well vampire hasnt done anything for the pannel yet and I guess we still have a while before the con to do that anyway. =/

well my talents consist of being able to fold a paper crane in about less than a minute.... besides that i dont think i have much that i could really sell....

My talents consist of copying any picture right down to the point and being very flexable and dissconeting my bones and folding myself. Thats it I cant really do anything XD
Hmmm maybe we should keep bugging vampire about makeing the pannel the sooner the better right?

I know how to make tiny comic books with out a printing press..... seriosly all i need is paper and scissors, dont even need any staples. oh and a copy machine to copy the actualy content... and i have that.

think you can sell anythin that the hotel cant provide....

so basicaly anything besides food, drink, and things from their gift shop.

yeah

the big way hotels get money from cons (and why they put up with us) is ussualy cause we fill almost every hotel room, and the fact that if theres nothing else besides ramune and pocky that is driven up in cost from uwaji's stand, then they will buy their over priced watar and cakes.

thats why they pretty much ban all food at cons.

Yeah, I'm going to reserve a panel as soon as possible but they aren't letting us for a little while. ^.^ And I don't think we can pick a specific time but I know I want it to last an hour. So we'll see.

Hello Darlings~!

We did a little panel similar to this, and it went...differently, hehe!

The hotel won't let you sell things in the panel. You can take admission, and include that into it, like the Ouran people did....To serve things that are hot (we wanted to at our Maid Training Panel last year...) it costs....so much. SO much. We ended up not being able to afford it.....

Even cold water costs a lot......

However!! The people that run the panels are so fabulous.....I can't say enough good about them. I wish you the very best of luck, pets~! If there is anything we can do for you, please don't hesitate to ask. ^_^

Ruriko: yeah it was lucky they let you sell your stuff in the venders hall... hotel people and their prices >.> didnt you get to sell your cupcakes because it was something only you guys could make or something like that? *good memory for random facts spoken on the bored.* hm maybe we could try a similar route, to you remeber how much they were going to cost you for the catoring?

i still like my fundraising idea but theres only so much we can do, i think the most we could do is maybe serve tea and coffee...i doubt that we would be able to cover food costs.

They worked really really really hard for us to get to sell things in the Vendor hall, but it was explicitly stated that you may NOT sell things during panels..... We were the ones that they had cater the Ouran panel. Each panel gets a little bit of money already, if you get a hold of who is working with the panels this year and approach them professionally, with a list of what you'd like, an how much you'd predict it would cost (or in the case of water/tea/treats, how much they would expect the hotel to charge..) they can help you work out something to help pay for it. There is a budget request form that you fill out along with your panel request form. No guarantee you'll get the money you ask for, but they're sweet people, and if you are serious about this panel, I see no reason why they wouldn't help you out!

A lot of people use this sort of thing to pay for prizes given away in their panels. *shrug* It is worth a shot!

We catered our own panel. We had already been approved to cater panels through this hotel, so we were allowed to bring our own to the Midnight Snacks panel.

And yes, that is why we were allowed, we were a business that sold things that the hotel did not sell, and the people that worked at the con were awesome and somehow managed to get us in. It was by a hairs' breadth, though, it seemed.

Worst case, we might try and work together. That would give you more time to prep with your maid personas, and you wouldn't have to rent a professional kitchen/deal with all of the tax la la la/food handlers cards/insurance that is required. @_@ And we are cheaper than the hotel (thus why we did the Ouran....That and we also really wanted to...Cause it's awesome, hehe). And it would be sweets from one group of maids sold by another, which is also pretty awesome, honestly. :3

In 07 the hotel charged a TON more than expected for the host club tea party. K-con learned that lesson the hard way. This is why there were tix for catered panels in 08.

I don't know who is in charge of panels this year though. (Was panels staff grunty in 08)
