again keep in mind that sakuracon has about 15000 people where kumoricon had about 6000 and it is also in a 7 story convention center. That is going to cost A LOT more to rent out than a hotel.

Also as the number of people go up the cost of insurance also goes up.

I'm sure there is a con that cost more than $60. There are some HUGE ones out there

yeah there are much larger ones in comparison. I will get to indy-con one day. I will. *determined face* but for now I'll just get to scon once and then go from there.

Comic con is $75 for all four days..and that is the prereg price. I'm thinking of going to either that or AX this year.

That being said..I can't wait for sakura-con..going to be fun. I've got my room reserved at the Sheraton as well. I saw some friends rooms there last year and liked them.

There are epic clips of the Avatar panels from CCon on youtube, they look hilarious and amazing. My dream is to cosplay Suki's tea shop dress from the finale and go to their Avatar panel *_*

My goal for this year is Sakuracon, Kumoricon, and Akicon.
Next year might be the year for something bigger.

@tofu: Yeah, the extra day does somewhat make up for the price. It think the only reason I'd go to comic con over AX is for all the Star Wars/Firefly costumers so I'll probably end up going to AX. If anyone ends up going we should hang out!

I think I'm going to try to have my Mal costume done by Sakura-con as well...need money to buy stuff for it.. <.<

I havent gotten a badge or reserved a hotel room.

I think that if anything I will just pay for one day so I can check out the dealers room and maybe go to a dance. The rest of the time I will just hang out in the park for free. Thats all I normally do and its such a waste to pay $60. to do so.

xD i usually stick to one cosplay per con. just because i hate having to travel with multiple costumes, and because it makes it easier when you're trying to find people/people are trying to find you and you dont always switch costumes.

I try to have one complicated or detailed costume per con. The other ones I'll wear if I wear them will be like normal clothes

I like to have a couple, inevidably I always wear one with horrible shoes, or somthing otherwise uncomfortable. So I can switch. I also bring many accessories "Cat Ears, Brain Slug (David's) etc" so I can just throw somthing together when I need too. I think I change my clothes 4+ times a day lol. But I rarely wear anything REALLY complicated.

for me, its one complicated, complete costume that i wear for most of the con. for the other time, i just bring interesting clothing and ears that i can switch into if needed. and i like to have different clothes for the dances. because going to a dance in cosplay can be a downright pain.

I'm bringing three cosplays to Sakuracon, possibly four. Five if you count the casual whateverism I'm doing Thursday night for the pre-reg line. Angeal is probably what I'm doing Friday, and I'm switching between Grave of Maria and Deke on Saturday if Maria gets broken/too hard to walk in or vice-versa. Valclav is for Sunday because that's A, Easter and B, the Trinity Blood photoshoot.

I suppose it's a good thing I'm staying at the Sheraton. Nothing but a crosswalk and a flight of stairs to get into the con center. Conquering the escalators, however... Crap. There's elevators that go up to the fourth floor, right?
