Going to go to GK on Monday (around 2pm) and, assuming they have Bubble Bobble in by then, I'm going to put a nice little placeholder high score on there. I'm aiming for 2.1Million. If anybody wants to come and top that or just watch or meet up, they're welcome to do so.

Also, Voodoo Doughnuts on me if I beat it 1-credit.

This topic is where I'm going to post every time I plan on going to Ground Kontrol and feel like being social at the same time. Check frequently for maximum damage.

I'm definitely aiming to topple your Bubble Bobble score. Time to get in practice on that game again (albeit this time on the arcade, not NES, version).

Ground Kontrol is located at 511 NW Couch Street in Portland. It's just inside Chinatown near 5th.

@ Jeff: I'll look forward to it. All of my friends suck at Bubble Bobble or don't play it at all, so I'd really like to see someone who can compete with me (or beat the game with me).

Unfortunately I won't be able to be there Monday. I've got work in Seattle.

But I'll stop in and check out your score, or perhaps we can meet up on the day of a meeting sometime.

(I know you need 2 players to get the true ending...)

Well, there is one level that is impossible to beat with 1 player (level 98 or 99 I think), but I don't know if Super Bubble Bobble requires 2 players to play/beat.

If I'm up in Seattle at all this summer (and I do want to try to get up there at least once), me, you, and dshwshr should all get together and play some Bubble Bobble.

I throw get-togethers and stuff all the time, but nobody's really come to any since the one in January with the Doughnuts and AAA's. If I have one of my StepMania cabinets ready before July 12th, I'll have a party with that and see if I can find some other cool stuff for everyone to play with. I'm also probably going to have a Communist Party sometime soon which you're coming to.

Going on Saturday all day, but I'll be playing MHF2 with a group of friends, so I might not actually be in GK the whole time. We like to stop by Backspace, Voodoo, and we occasionally loiter in the Pottery Barn up on 23rd. Let me know if you're coming. Also, if you want to try Monster Hunter Freedom 2, I might be bringing an extra copy, so just bring a PSP and you're set!

I checked it out one day and it was kinda a tiny little place, nice but not amazing like everyone says it is.
