J-Rock vendor booth?
« on: September 07, 2008, 05:03:46 pm »
Does anyone remember that vendor booth that was at Kumoricon 2007? It had like a TON of pics and stuff or popular j-rock and visual kei bands and stuff. I was really looking forward to seeing them this year. ;.; where were they? Does anyone know who ran the booth or anything? I want them back! D: Hopefully they'll be at kumori 2009?

Yeah, I hope they come back next year, too =/

I was hoping to score some An Cafe posters, and some CDs I haven't been able to find at Uwajimaya >.<

the dealers room was kinda 'meh' overall, though =/ There was a lot of new merchandise I was looking forward to, but couldn't find...

i did notice this one dealer had what i think he called "j-rock jewelry"
now i hae seen real j-rock jewelry and it was spendy and shiny

there stuff looked like neclaces that you could buy at dollar tree only it was attached to abase that had a pic of a japanese singer

thing that tipped me off was the picture, when i looked at the back i could see it was printed by home printer or when you get pics developed at wall greens

sad cuz first i was like "gackt necklace!!!.....wait a sec....sadness"

If it's the one I'm thinking about, they're always at Sakuracon, so give that a shot.  There's always 2 or 3 J-rock/Visual Kei related booths there.

Yeah, I know that booth you're talking about. I chilled and talked Moi Dix Mois with the guy who ran it last year, and he was really cool. I was saving all my money for that booth this year and was sad when I didn't see it, so then I spent it on other stuff, but still....no j-rocks for mez.

I was pretty disappointed at its absence as well.  Was hoping to pick up some Moi dix Mos or MUCC.  Oh well, hopefully they'll be around next year, ne?

(In fact, I don't think I saw any music CDs for sale anywhere.  Did I miss it?  I'd love to pick up some soundtracks for my favorite animes.)

Yeah, as far as I could tell there weren't any music/soundtracks available at all this year. A sad deficit, but yes, hopefully next year there will be more.

There was only about maybe 5 different cds, which mostly consisted of Gackt. lol

Is this booth run by a guy who dresses in an EGL... dress? If it's the booth that I think everyone's talking about, I think the vendor is Digital Discs. There are alot of reasons why he wasn't there- maybe he didn't get his contract in on time before the Exhibitor's Hall sold out. Or maybe he decided not to go to Kumori Con. There are alot of other cons on Labor Day Weekend.

Yup, that's the one I am thinking of anyway. Thanks for the input and you make a good point, there is a whole lot going on that weekend. I can certainly understand there are a lot of reasons any vendor could have been unable to have a booth at the con.
