Author Topic: Pre-con Party for LGBTQQIPA Youth (Read 7062 times)

So, I go to this youth center called SMYRC (Sexual Minority Youth Resource Center). The last friday of every month is Open Mic Night. I talked to everyone there, and I got permission to throw a Pre-con Party here on the friday before kumoricon, August 29th.

This party will be for Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Trans, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Pan-sexual, A-sexual youth ages 14-23 that are attending the con.

It will be held at SMYRC, located 2100 Belmont Ave. in Portland. You can get there on the 15 if you're using tri-met ^^

I will be supplying snacks, including pocky bowls and ramune. I talked them into starting the party an hour before Open Mic Night, at 7:00, to play party games (glomp circle, redlight greenlight: death note style, etc) and dance.

I need to stress this, because it is really important. Please.
NO DRUGS OR ALCOHOL WHATSOEVER!!!

Open Mic night is going to be open for us to perform, so if you have a skit that you're going to be doing at the con and want to practice, this would be the time ^^ I'm going to also do the Lucky Star Dance and Hare Hare Yukai. Feel free to join.

An update for everyone.

If anyone could contribute by bringing pocky to share for everyone, that would be great. ^^ I'll get as much as I can, but I'm anticipating to be a little strapped for cash at that point. I'll try and get all my party shopping done this month and save con nessecities for august ^^

LGBTQQIPA... whoah, and I though the abbreviation couldn't get any longer. O_o That uses four more terms than the LGBTA group at the University of Oregon.

How exactly do you say that abbreviation out loud?... It needs more vowels, so it can be rearranged into yet another mangled acronym!

I'm sure RemSavarem would be excited to hear about this, though she herself isn't within your age range.

They probably say "Us" and "We", with the capitalization of course.

It's gonna start at 7:00, then Open Mic Night is at 8:00, then ends around 10:00. SMYRC itself closes at 11:00 on that friday.

I was wondering if a couple of people would like to help me out with a "boot to the head" skit for open mic night that night. ^^ I thought it would get a laugh outta the regulars there and the con-goer's alike. we would be making a few changes, since smyrc doesn't glorify alchohol ^^;;; for anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about, here's a link
