AMV Contest Rules Update 15-Nov-04
« on: November 15, 2004, 06:23:02 pm »
An aspiring entrant wrote me about fansubs and subtitles, and I modified the rules to be clearer about these:

http://www.ados.com/~guy1656/KumoriCon/2005-AMV.htm

Quote:
"IF YOU USE FANSUBS or subtitled sources you are expected to remove non-relevant subtitles and crud like TV station logos. (Note: intentionally selected subtitles which work with the music lyrics or directly enhance the impact of your work are OK. You can also intentionally create your own subtitles or overlay graphics as part of your 'art' or 'message.')"

This applies to -all- categories, not just Action/Adventure.

Not really, forcing people to take that extra effort on their videos should make a lot of people rethink competing in the first place.
Then again, maybe it's just because I haven't read the OTHER standards for the contest.
