I think a better question would be "I there anyone who isn't willing to slaughter ten thousand babies to get this game if necessary?"

;o; My poor laptop barely handles Guild Wars.

Being able to handle Guild Wars is probably more than enough, and yes I would slaughter countless babies to get this game now. Well back to D2!

I'll need a new understanding of technology; this thing's 4 years old and completely unupgraded ;_;

But, I'm sure I'll find $4000 and some nifty toys at Fry's between now and a long time from now. :P

Blizzard, as they have a tendency of doing, have not put out a launch date.
Pretty much how they always are. Here is every Blizzard launch date: when it is done.

That being said, I cannot wait for this game..I loved both of the ones before it.

a lot of Diablo players don't expect this game until at least 2010 and the ones who don't want to wait that long are writing up an on-line petition about the game's release date. I hear none of the people on the "too much color" petition are on it though as they are more concerned with making the game's snapshots look more diabloish.

People are stupid; mist causes refraction of light during the daytime.  A powerful, raging river causes mist, a huge, terrifying bridge covered in dead bodies suggests there's a powerful, raging river below it.  Thus, huge, terrifying bridge covered in dead bodies = rainbow.  If they're too uncomfortable with their sexualities (or lack thereof) to tolerate a small amount of realism, they should try playing Katamari Damaci and see just how beastly a rainbow can be.

Yeah they are just complaining that it doesn't fit the Diablo goth atmosphere. They don't want it to be realistic, they want it to not change and that's what I can't stand. I don't like how it's hard for people to accept change and just want the same thing over and over, it's because most of us have been conformed to like the repetition.

Oh I found my D2 so now I can play it, I think I gave you my user name, just let me know if you need anything in the game, well except items cause I don't have those.

Yeah.  I know.  Hopefully, that's how seriously Blizzard is taking the petition.

I've got Diablo 2 working full blast now.  Hit me up at Gtalk (thatlatu@gmail.com) if you want to play for a bit.  If it says I'm away and playing Diablo 2, I've got an Assassin named Illica and a Paladin named Mazutec.  Probably going to rebuild my barbarian and necromancer soon. (they expired)

I got my Necro started and my Paladin and Necro up to 15 and 16 (respectively) yesterday.  I think I also got a few levels for my barbarian, but I've been having trouble making progress with him.  All the people who join the rooms I start are way too weak, and just make me die faster trying to protect them, and, at level 41 on Act 2, I find myself getting killed far too often due to improbabilities such as a big group of enemies getting lucky and hitting me all at the same time despite only having a 25% chance of hitting me before considering my 49% chance of blocking.  Kind of kills my morale, especially when I'm losing 100,000 gold any time I die.

how do you have 49% chance to block? I thought you wielded two swords? Also, if you're dieing in NM then you probably just need more defense. Barbs have the natural resistance skill.

Yeah, I've been putting my skill levels into Stone Skin and Shout.  My defense usually lingers around 1300 if I'm remembering to shout regularly. :/

I run a defensive set using a faster sword+concentrate for when I'm fighting high-damage opponents (especially ones with stun) and I have an offensive set for when I'm fighting little minions that I just want to kill quickly.
