Camping? Someone's backyard? Nearby campground?

I am coordinating a couple programming rooms at the con, and need to be able to not have to commute back to Eugene during it. If I come up by myself, I probably could find some floor space; but if I come up with my boyfriend, which I'm hoping to do, then, unless we find an acceptable cat-sitter, we may have to bring our cat with us. She's great and largely independent, but it might be easiest if we can set up our tent somewhere (which has a cat door). We have a car, so getting from campground or backyard to con will not be that cumbersome....

Please, does anyone either have a backyard we can camp in (and yes we can give you free rides to and from the con in trade and/or pay you), or know of a campground anywhere in or reasonably near to the Portland/ Vancouver, WA area where we could stay in a tent with a cat (either officially or on the DL)?

There are people who camp out in forest park in NW portland, though officially there is no camping allowed in the metro area.

No I don't consider it a safe place actually, but it is the whole hill on the nw part of portland.   Just go up hmm probally nw 23rd and then take a left somewhereish.

As I'll have a computer with me most likely, and as I'm a petite female, I only want to camp somewhere that feels safe, but thank you.
