So, it looks like Pixar Studios is hosting an auction to raise funds to save the forest that is the inspiration for Miyazaki's Totoro. Artists from all over the world are donating art and raising funds to protect the landmark forest. I think it's nifty. This could very well have a lot to do with John Lasseter, who is a major head in Pixar and Studio Ghibli, I think. I know he has done several DVD introductions for US releases of Ghibli films, so he could very well be the driving factor connecting Ghibli and Pixar. That's pretty cool.
