SO you see teh poster and all the stuff we want this club to include! Alex and I have been thinking that maybe the Friday before Halloween there could be a Vanime first meeting/Halloween cosplay party to introduce prospective newbies to the environment of a club and to work out the details of a weekly club for us Vancouver area otaku.

I really think that introducing people to cosplaying as a serious hobby and getting some more people converted to the Glory of Elegant Gothic Lolita and Aristocrat would be GREAT!
Plus, educate the youngers in the fine art of J-Rock and Goth! Huzzah!

When- Otctober 29th, a friday.
Where- good question. still working that out. we will post that info as soon as we get it. i can tell you its going to be in vancouver, somewhere in/near cascade park. more than likely.

Oh! I wish that Eugene wasn't so far away! I need more Gothic Lolita's! There aren't many around here and I'm like a part-time EGL, haha! I don't do it every day because it's so much work, but I do love to do it!!!

I'm pretty much thinking it will be at my house. Gotta ask teh parentals, but I'll get back to you all with the details!!!

I'll do my best to be there and bring what limited anime I have. If someone could get ahold of Alice, we might even have more anime than we could shake a stick at. I don't know, we'll have to try.

I realize that the first meeting ought to be largely business, but I have a couple movies we might watch when we've gotten some work done... I was thinking maybe Nausicaa or some other Ghibli film would be nice. There's also the possibility of doing something with a halloween theme to it.

Anyway, i look forward to a first meeting, and if anyone should need a ride from the Salmon Creek area, contact me.

Oh, one other thing, I have an all-region dvd/divx player, so if there's anything we want to show that isn't out in the states yet it would be possible.

Mostly business, yes, but this is how it goes down:

Cosplay contest! Welcome one and all to the first Vanime and cosplay meeting and contest!!!

1st 2nd and 3rd place prizes will be awarded. I won't compete, so don't be all scared! Give us your best!!!

Food: I'm too damn poor to furnish food, so bring some soda and snacks, or whatever. Kinda like a potluck. I'll make cookies or something!

Be nice to one another, carpool and whatnot.

I'm thinkin' maybe we'll watch Vampire Hunter D or something Halloween themed, but who knows. DDR shall be played, maybe Silent Hill if you're all up for getting the piss scared outta you!

I'm thinkin 6 or 7 to 10? PM, duh. Cool?

I want to say THANK you SOOO much to everyone who came! I had SO much fun watching people DDR and just hanging out with everyone! We had SIXTEEN people you guys! Hooray! I think we're big enough to be a happy club! *high five*
