Next year's musical venue?
« on: September 09, 2007, 09:21:02 pm »
Okay haha it's a little early to be asking something like this, and nothing is probably for sure, but does anyone have an inkling about what next years music venue is going to be? Just wondering so I can listen to them ahead of time and be an annoying groupie next year >:3

sorry if I'm jumping the gun.

(but not really)
Someday...I'll get around to you.

Weeeell, all I can guess is that there is a good chance A-Key Kyo may be coming back. Two years in a row give a good chance of their return for a third. I don't know any others though.

Sorry Jaz, while we might be able to afford a Japanese voice actor or manga-ka we aren't ready for the logistics of a Japanese musical guest. Even if he just flew in and hung out for a day.

.....although it would be cool if he MCed the karaoke contests.

I think we should try and get MOVE. They did all of the music for Initial D

They actually came to Sakuracon this year, the anime convention up in Seattle. ^__^;; That was so freakin' awesome, they are so incredible in concert.

As an FYI the Gaming crew may possibly host a Battle of the Bands using Rock Band as a platform in Live Events.

Yah, I knew that. That's why I thought it would be cool if they came to us

And they would cost about triple last year's relations budget. Just for the band...
(I can list the expenses if you'd like, but you probably wouldn't...)

If we wanted a smaller band, Camino would be a bit less expensive, although they like to eat steak... lots of steak... for every meal...

(and yes, we're a bit on the small side for m.o.v.e )

additional: m.o.v.e only did some of the music from Initial D. The original intro and ending, the second season intro, and a few more. There's a LOT of other music that was done by other artists.

I love that you felt the need to specify what Sakuracon is ^^ that is so cute.  They are our sister con, I guess I am just used to assuming people know what it is.

Hmm.. I am not sure who I want at the con.  I like bands that do anime covers like A Key Kyo does

Is there a specific sound you are looking for?  I'm new, so I apologize if I am asking a stupid question, but I know a few pretty good local bands.  Thought maybe I could help :)
