oooh that is a good idea. I'll do mine. Well this is the one that i am spending the most time on. I left a few things out but let me know what you think.
And here is a reference picture

I added the wrist guard and I am doing the collar as well. I also plan on getting red contacts but is there anything else that needs help (the picture makes me look chunky but by the time the con goes around I will have abs, I have them now but it is hard to see in this pic). Anything that needs improving?  and sorry for the large picture but it allows you to get a closer look at the costume.

Awesome! I think when you add the shoulder armor and collar it will look just like it! I love the claws
You did a very good job on that! Something to improve on is the sting in the front. It should be longer looking...
I think and probably thicker. That's my 2 cents if you care ^_^ I'll put mine up soon.

Yeah my mom was saying that she has something that might work. I also have the rest of the arm armor done but it is just not on the glove. I am going to attach elastic to it so I can slide it on and off when I want (it's very uncomfortable). As for the string I'll try to get it so it looks more like a bow instead of just hanging there, it is already glued to the belt so it would be a hassle to try to take if off.

I really appreciate your input. Albel is my favorite character and I want it to look great.

No problem! I'll post mine as soon as possible but I seem to be having problems with the arm part and the leg warms...
It might be a hassle for me also...

I cant wait to see it. I'll try to get the shoulder armor together and get a picture up. I think what I am going to use for it is the padding that comes in bras and swimsuits.

Nope, most commercial craft stores (if not all of them) don't carry Wonderflex. It's a professional propmaking tool, not just a little dinky arts and crafts tool.

If I could get to Photobucket on this computer, I could give you guys a costume to critique... But alas.

I would just say more frill on the shorts. I know you were talking about that earlier but that is the only problem that I see

okay cool i'll add some fur at the ends to make it match. I also did'nt know if I should change the top or cut the shorts up more on the side.
Thanks for the input ^_^

I think the rest of it looks great. If you want to make the sides of the shorts shorter then go ahead but they look fine the way they are and I would be horribly self conscious. Then again you have already worn X-2 rikku so I don't think you would have a problem

Yeah that is what I would suggest. I'm sure the wig would help a lot too. You hair wasn't bad for it, it was just missing the bangs.

Thanks ^_^ I think a wig would be easier for me becuase my hair is natural wavy so I'd have to straighten it for an hour which I would rather just put a wig on.lol and it's fun to style wigs ;D

How about I'll post my Haruhi and Temari o_O
I had the Temari one like some time ago for Halloween but I didn't make it XD
My Mommy did! o_o and how about in in progress picture of my rin?

I think everything looks great but you need fluffy on the shorts, and I would recommend waiting to cut it also!

Yeah well I wont be getting a picture up tonight. The shoulder armor is too small but I got a good idea how to make it. Baseball helmets, and a saw. I'll look into it tomorrow. I'm thinking the idea is going to work.

!!!!! Ack. So pretty! And, wow. What camera do you use? o.0 But, the only advice is makes the shirt just a little more baggy[in the first picture, but maybe it's the pose......], and the ribbons in the hair have more....oomph! But, beautiful cosplay. *_*

I think it looks great. You did a good job! The only problem that I see is the collar comes up a little high. If would be a big hassle to change it now, Even with it people will know who you are cosplaying as and it looks fantastic.

oh well then it looks great.

as for my costume I don't think I am going to make the shoulder armor. It's too much work and I am busy enough as it is. I have no idea where to even begin. Also there is a cloak that I have and the shoulder armor makes it look bad. Other than the lack of armor is there anything else that I need to work on?

WOW!!! My first time was last year and it hardly compares to that!! HOLY CRAP YOUR GOOD!! Just one suggestion for being a boy, you might want to bind yourself. I found that an obi works quite well. You dont have to but it would give ya more of a boy look, and the outfit is fantastic with or without binding yourself. GREAT JOB!!

I cut my aerith dress into a v-neck (In the Befor pic I'm not wearing my cuffs cuz that was when I got the wig so yeah I left the cuffs in the drawer on purpose lol) (In the after pic I'm not wearing my wig or bracelets lol I didnt see the need to cuz I was just taking a pic to showcase the dress)

Yeah, thumbs up on the dress. It does look really good, and it also looks very comfortable and easy to wear, so to speak. It doesn't look like you'll have to worry about feeling smothered in it, the fabric looks like it could breathe pretty easily, which is always important when you're in a hot or packed conspace heh.

It does breath!! lol thanks ^_^ the dress also doesnt have the slit open thing at the bottom of it like aerith does. I would like it but also I realize that I'm more comfortable and less self conscious without it lol. the ribbon I split at the end I'm wondering if I should just make the ribbon straigt all the way down.

so this
  v
  l
  l
  l

Instead of this

  v
  l
  l

what do ya think?

Nah, I know. But the ribbon will catch the wind and flow more if it is split at the end. ^_^

Well, you know...if you leave it open like this:

  v

  l

 ^

The tails of the ribbon will catch the breeze, I would assume. Maybe I'm misreading things though, heh. Whatever, lol

On my super secret cosplay it has 3 zippers that go like this
V
l
l
l
^
So it's pretty convenient to get out of.
I found them here at work and there heavy duty so it's sometimes a hassle but i think it was worth it XD
The ribbon really looks like a zipper from the picture to be honest ><
Or it looks like it could be XD Now that I take a closer look. Did you use like a 5'8 ribbon, it looks like  1'4, or 1'8.

Okay, sorry....you said ribbon I immediately was thinking of the hair ribbon, not the ribbon down the front of the dress. Sorry, sorry, lol, I went in the wrong direction. Yes, the ribbon on the front, I'd say make it straight. If you aren't going to do the split down the center of the dress, then the split in the ribbon would only look....kind of wrong, I guess. I'd say straight is the best way to go for that. ^_^ And sorry about the confusion, lol

You probably should have sewed it on. Glue isn't the best thing in the world XD
But Sewing with ribbons is hard! I've had to sew on so many ribbons to like sailor fuku collars and i think i have one coming up
that has like 3 side by side. I'll have to use the small ribbons and use a fine sewing machine.
It still looks good either way. I found that jewerly glue is much tougher then fabric glue.
Personally i think fabric glue sucks but it's effective XD

I find that glue works really well with ribbons you just can't get a lot in one place because then it bleeds through and gives it a wet look. As long as you don't use too much it should look fine.

My boots were actually my Larxene boots, oddly enough. The running gag that night was that Konan was a transfer from the OrgXIII. And the cloak was a present, I didn't make it. Wish I could say I had, though!

The origami lotus was oddly fun to make.

btw, all shoes from naruto suck. There's no easy way to deal with them.
As for the slit, only do it if you'd feel comfortable.

I feel comfortable enough. My other costume is much more reveling. The slit on the sarong goes all the way up to my hip o.o

But it is good to know about the shoes. The problem with those ones is that they wern't staying on. The flip flops I was using with them are really comfotable but since my foot kept sliding back it was giving me blisters. I have the socks over the shoes and I am going to try the socks uder the shoes next time.

@_@ So...I am debating whether or not to wear this to Kumoricon or not. I wore it to Sakuracon, but it got ruined and my fix-ups arent that great this time around. Should I just go ahead and wear it or should I retire it? I know it has a few quirks.

That's one of the best costumes for that character I've seen. Try and fix it up with the use of Fabric Stitch to secure threads and be careful of how you move incase something gets pulled at. My biggest problem with my Kairi's skirt at SakuraCon was the pleats moving from my sitting on them and the knots would undo. I almost had a pleat come undone during the con x.x

Oh yes, I totally destroyed it at Sakuracon, but I fixed it just recently. Dont expect it to hold up for too long, but I'm sure wearing it one day wont hurt it any.

The biggest thing that I think needs the work is the ear headband thingy. The white paint is a little choppy and needs to be more of a smooth line.

Yea, If I have time, I'm gonna restitch everything and I'm gonna try and get ahold of some foam and just remake the headband all together. Its really crappy cuz its made out of cardboard.
And the fabric is sparkly, so the butt of the suit has no sparkles from sitting too much. I hope thats not too noticable.

Restitch if you can, glue it maybe at the knots and where there's a lot of pulling from wearing it naturally. And see if you can't redo the headband- either making a new one or touching up that one with white out or paint =3 It still looks great.

I don't know why it took me so long, but I think some feedback on my Barret Wallace could be useful. I made it last year, but I'm wearing it again this year, with nothing at all changed, so I'm using a photo from last year. (Like I said, nothing has changed, except I'm a slightly better shape).

So, anyone see something that could be worked on? ^_^

That is a very good costume.....if you are anything like me then you want someone to tell you what you can improve on rather than telling you that it is good so lets see........are you going to do the shoulder armor? ok, so this isnt me, its my sister but i did make the costume.

she hasent decided if she wants to wear it again this year. it needs some touching up near the feet, and i didnt have time to do the green detailing on the arms and legs (if you look close you can see it on the ears...also she put them on upside down).

i guess im kinda wondering if its worth the time to fancy it up a bit.

Oh Em Gee, I totally remember her from last year! We stood around and talked about the finer points of Avatar cosplay!

She was cool. Her costume was plenty cool too! You did a wonderful job. Maybe you should try putting the green on, and make sure she puts her ears on right-side up this time?

That is a very good costume.....if you are anything like me then you want someone to tell you what you can improve on rather than telling you that it is good so lets see........are you going to do the shoulder armor? A sword might also be good.....O.O you could make a Sheik and transform randomly (I guess that is a little late as it gets really close to con x.x)

Oh the armor is already made my amazing wonderful friend made it for me. And I've been trying to figure out how to make the sword I did find a bow and arrow at the dollar store but its just not the same...Haha and if I turn into shiek at random then I'd have to run away from link all the time, and hes just too beautiful to run away from ^^

ok then I am out of ideas to improve it. I think it looks fantastic. For my sword I used one I carved a long time ago.....that of course would take a lot of time to do but there are tutorials on how to make them but I have no idea where they are....i just remember looking at one.

Alright I got my wig for Hikaru Hitachiin today and styled it a little. The rest of the costume isn't done but maybe I'll wear his date outfit to the zoo or car wash or something. Anyways I wanted to hear everyones opinion about how I styled it.

The wig is a little darker than I wanted it to be but I guess it is more like what their real hair color would be. It looks more natural.

I dunno... I think the twin's hair is more of a strawberry brown but flashes tend to kill wigs colors, making them look too light or too dark.

But the styling you've done so far looks great!

It is a very dark wig. its an auburn brown color. it could be a little lighter but I still like the cut and the color. But the picture does make it look much darker than it really is.

I edited my wig a little, not sure if you can tell but yeah... the bangs are a little better and I straightend the ends a little.. I also updated the ribbon...what do ya think of me as tifa? is there anything I need to edit further? (I dont think I can do much else with the wig though)

I'd say you could try to get gloves, because AC Tifa has black gloves. You make a really good Tifa though, so there isn't much that you need to improve on, that I can see, heh

Awsome job on that costume!!!! I'd totally be just like I was when I saw that episode "Oh so cooool!" Anyone else reminded of Yoh with Hikaru's headphones? XD; Maybe it's just me.
Hmmm for the wig, looks like Hikaru's got a bunch of the bangs that hang under the rest towards his ear- like he pushes that bunch behind his ear and the other bunch gets puffy? I wonder if there's a way to make that pretty accurate in a wig --- but that's cause I like to nitpick at wigs.

As for Tifa... Personally I'd try for a red ribbon, with the tails of the bow being a bit longer maybe?

Did I say I got my Roxas wig yet? XD Well I took some pictures in the school boy costume I'm thinking of doing. I'm thinking of wearing the girls costume there and changing out before the afternoon. (Ignore the cat please XD)

Good =3 Was trying to help~ I saw the pic and got to thinking about how I would pull back the parts of the hair and how the rest would get puffy... @.@ Understanding how hair moves is important with wigs!

Thanks =3 No wig head, but the wig seems to be fine on top of my lamp, so long as I don't turn it on that is.

MUCH better before. The golden circles do look a tad sloppy around the edges. Maybe glue on a thin gold ribbon, or bias tape, around the edges to make it look more like a solid circle? Or put hot glue around it to bring it out more 3D-like and paint the glue gold/yellow to match.

The wig is a little darker than I wanted it to be but I guess it is more like what their real hair color would be. It looks more natural.

Just clean up the stray hairs a bit, and it'll look fantastic. I know nothing about wig styling, though, so I can't tell how easy/difficult a task that will be. The shape of the wig looks great. If you went as is, you'd still have a quality hairstyle.

Right on, I think you did a great job.  I instantly recognized the character before even reading it, so that's definitely a good thing.  Looks natural too, which is pretty awesome.

Also love the date outfit!!

There's a great wig store in Beaverton if you have access to it. It's called Wells Wigs unlimited. It's off of Allen Blvd. near the Safeway in the corner of the strip mall. They've got quite a selection for a small shop. You might be able to find something there. I was just there today for a wig hair cap.

Here's the website. I think it's a chain store rather than a local one: http://www.wigsunlimited.com/

*coughcough* Yeah, I'm painting it alright. It's kind of a mottled khaki now. Thanks, though. The idea is very appreciated.

I was worried about that with my Roxas wig cause it's so short in the back. Since I don't have a wig cap, I'll be making use of clips to hold my hair up into place =3 But really short wigs cover hair nicely.

Yes, but does your hair reach your-mid back and have thickness comparable the crust of the earth? I'm surprised I even got it under the wig as it is.

Cloudy Tifa Cosplay
Game Tifa
SO I've been kinda dreading putting this up, cause I don't know how people react to original costumes. This costume took an Advent Children Cloud costume and turned it into a hybrid between Tifa's game costume and Ac costume. Not pictured is the long fighting glove I've made to look like the one in the character picture, and the fact that I've cropped the shirt to touch on my ribs.

Looks awsome~

Yeah I've worn a wig when my hair reached my butt, and I have really thick hair too. I cut it a bit ago so I'm growing it out again, so it's about to my middle shoulders.

I was considering bringing my sewing machine to the con to help people with tears, I think I'll see about bringing it.

But, you know, a lot of dry cleaners can take things in pretty quick.

It looks like a good dart in the back could help, but I really wouldn't know. I'm the "wing it" type of seamstress (if you can even call me that).

But the zipper won't shrink along with it.

I'd fix it for you if you could somehow get to me, Chihiro. It only takes a few minutes.

that would be absolutley fantastic of you... however i am not sure how i can get it to you so close before the con, im thinking ill ask the drycleaners what they can do, hopefully bring in the back for me so it fits nice and tight like it should.

if it turns out they cant do what i want then maybe we can work something out if you would still be willing >.<

Which is always a good thing =3

Is it just me or do my posts in this thread keep magically disappearing? ???

Anyway.. I suggested if you can't fix it, safety pin it up and try to pin it to your bra also. That way it doesn't fall that far down in the back either.

Okay, I'm trying to get as much done as possible on Ashitaka, but it's hard to cut plywood when all you have is a handsaw, an exacto knife, and sandpaper. Especially curves. I don't know how I'm going to get the middle of the ring out.

Anyway, here's what I've got so far.

Outfit in progress:

Hood down, tunic close up, hood and wig, wig 1, wig 2, unfinished sword, straw rain cloak
San wig 1, wig 2

Sorry for any wrinkles, I haven't ironed anything since I got home from AE.

Shot of me in the outfit from Anime Evolution this past weekend:

Things that I know need to be worked on:

- Paint the sword and wrap the grip
- Re-wrap the grip of the bow with dark fabric
- Finish my red pouch (needs to be hemmed)
- Fix the armcovers (they were just pinned to a tank top underneath the tunic; they need ties across the chest)
- Stiffen the face cover of the hood
- Trim the wig a little
- Layer the straw on the cloak somewhat so it's not all the same length
- Make the quiver and chaps (maybe, if I've got time)
- Make the small jeweled dagger

Anything else?

I don't have my full costume assembled just yet, but I'm doing Link from Twilight Princess, who is a scrounge and an item whore, so details matter. :)  Hence, I'd like to post some images of the leatherwork and other stuff that has been finished, on display but not worn.

(warning, big images)

Whatcha think?

Edit: Here's some superfluous descriptions of the items if you have any trouble figuring out what's what.

alright tonight me and Kenzie are turnin the great blue into it its final stage as a river chocobo! AND IT IS RETIRING AFTER WORDS cause it takes like an hour and a half to put on counting make up and hair. (done by my wonderful friend Kenzie) so tonight shall be epic

the great blue gets a makeover, and now its going to be harder to put on cause of the added chocobo tail.... and my make up will be a lot more extreme....

ah well

oh i picked up me wigs today :3 pictures shall be posted shortly!

Thank you~! ^^ I'm really pleased with how it's turning out, though I understand why hardly anyone cosplays him now. Lots of pieces.
We'll see if I can get that compression shirt dyed in time, 'cause I wanna do shirtless Ashitaka if at all possible.

Cute! But I just gotta ask, do you have a belt that goes around your waist for your Kairi? Because her two loopy belts don't attach directly to her dress. If you don't you can borrow my belt for the con!

AWSOME Ashitaka!! I can't believe you made the hood cover and the hay shawl too~ That's totally awsome! Are you going to try and make a bow and quiver of arrows too? ^^

Radien: Awsome Link stuff so far. That chain mail looks hella heavy oO;

Awsome Kairi wig~

Anyone have tips on black shorts for Aqua? I just realized the ones I'm wearing for Yuna's songstress costume are pretty short.
http://i34.tinypic.com/abjbjk.jpg <- that's the costume...
But I'm not sure about shorts... At best, I was thinking of looking at Ross before I leave for the convention and see if I could find anything. x_x
Cause I kid you not, the black shorts for Yuna's costume are really short - designed to be under her lace skirt... Not really meant to be worn just them- and I don't want to be breaking any kind of con rules about covering up. Not that that'd be a problem--- the shirt's got a skirt in the back and the sides have two long pieces of fabric too. And there's knee high socks too... x_x So just try and wing it, or... ?

spankie=  an underwear like thing under short skirts or sort shorts. can come in boy short form or granny panitys style. (One of the few things i learned from cheerleading)

and yea i have a belt its just with the purse on the vanity right now that couldnt be seen in the picture, but yeah you can see my kairiand a part of my Mel in that pic (whicsh is still being hemmed) and the chocobo is now off to the side as we spray painted the feathers blue

Oh I dunno where to buy those, but those are too short I'd think for Aqua's... The shorts I have for Yuna are a bit longer than spankies. But Aqua's shorts look longer to me Oo;

I do actually have a bow (originally part of my Kagome costume), I just need to re-wrap the grip in new fabric. And I'll be picking up the suede for the quiver tomorrow...the boots used up too much of what I bought and I don't quite have enough. I need to get a few dowels and some brown feathers too, so I can make the arrows.

I love Ashitaka, he's one of my all-time favorite characters, and I want to make sure I do him justice. I'm really excited because one of my friends is doing San with me. We'll be wearing them Sunday.

Yeah imagine how Link runs in chain mail in the games Oo; No wonder we always cheat and ride Epona whenever we can! ;D

Personally I'd like to wear one of my costumes all 3 days but I've got other ones I want to show. And I did wear my Kairi one all 3 days, but it wasn't as fun as getting to change it up.

x.x Just woke up myself. I'm trying to think of how I can fix my friend's white mage shirt still... Cut a slit down from the neck and maybe a eye/hook or snap somewhere in there... Or just hem it and leave it....

I would want to wear a costume all three days but seeing how easily things come off I realized that it was a bad idea. My Temari and Hikaru are the best made and Albel looks great but I need to find a better way to keep the armor attached to the clothing. Hot glue isn't really working out too well.

Hot glue, in my experience as an artbook Trinity Blood cosplayer, does not keep armor on very well. Use E6000 or automotive silicone. Of course, the automotive silicone won't come off no matter what and holds for ten years or more... It can be a good choice, but not if you want to take the armor off and wash the costume.

OK, so at AE I premered my Kaede costume...only the boots were so painful that I had to switch to my gym shoes the other two days. Problem is Kaede doesn't wear gym shoes, she wears boots, and I spent 40 bucks on those and I don't want them to go to waste.

The big issue was that it was wearing against my ankles and I was starting to develop blisters. How can I fix that and still keep the boots?

Wear thick socks and put athletic tape around the socks. Might be a pain to remove at the end of the day, but that should protect your ankles nicely.

@ nikkiolie: Yeah, automotive silicone has give. It's silicone, after all. It has some stretch, but not so much that you can pull and it'll stretch away like gum. It's fun to squeeze once it's dry, though.

DUDE. Your timing on this comment couldn't have been any better. I'm in love with silicone at the moment. It's how I fastened my tentacles to my scuba mask. Also, I'm using it to make barnacles. It works great. It's soft, but pretty shapeable. When it's dry, it can move around without having to break or tear. It helps my tentacles stay on but still maintain just a little swing. Plus it didn't melt any of my materials.

And, it's cheap! Really cheap. But the caulking gun at the Dollar Tree, and one tube of paintable silicone caulking at Home Depot cost no more than $3. It cures in a day, and you can get a lot of milage out of one tube. I've only used one tube for my entire scuba mask and barnacles on the crab limbs.

I responded. I said Both costumes looked great. There is only just pieces of your costume to show though not the whole thing. I would never wear chain mail because it would be so heavy so you are brave.

Sorry, I didn't recognize that you were responding to me without a quote. Yeah, it's only part of the costume, that's why I thought you were referring to somebody else. :)  By the way, I went and picked up the rest of the costume tonight (minus the undershirt and pants). I'll take some pictures if/when I have time.

Chain mail really isn't all that big a deal, really. Unlike weapon props, it is weighted quite evenly over the very center of your body.  Link's chain mail is quarter-sleeve, too (think T-shirt length), which is about 3x easier to wear than half-sleeve and 10x easier to wear than full-sleeve. ;)

Also, people worry too much about it pinching. It really isn't that big a deal. Besides, Link's costume doesn't allow it to really touch skin anywhere on his body.

I didn't see your post until just now, but that really is stunning. Is that real chainmail I saw? That's awesome. I can't give any suggestions or critiques, it just looks too good. Great work and I can't wait to see the finished costume all assembled.

Yep, it's real! And it'll be real fun to wear, if a workout. I don't know what I'd do with suggestions. o_o The leatherwork is mostly beyond my spectrum of skills. I did make two or three useful suggestions to the person I commissioned them from, though...

dude 18 pounds? O_- seriosly going to cutdown on movement. awsome costume though....

It goes jingle-jangle, though. :D I don't think it'll be worse than having the sword and shield on my back, to be honest. Those weigh 15-18 pounds as well, but unlike the chain mail, they'll be bouncing around and knocking into things. :P

I would want to wear a costume all three days but seeing how easily things come off I realized that it was a bad idea. My Temari and Hikaru are the best made and Albel looks great but I need to find a better way to keep the armor attached to the clothing. Hot glue isn't really working out too well.

Personally, I think it'd be more appropriate to attach some straps. Sure, they may end up attaching to your body in ways that aren't visible in the game or the art, but think of it as added realism. Besides, straps are cool. :)

I'm also in favor of costumes that will last longer than 1-3 days before needing major repairs... hot glue doesn't usually help with that endeavor. It's a great quick fix, but rarely a permanent one.

This whole description was pretty priceless to read. Welcome to the weird and wonderful world of cosplay. <3

dude 18 pounds? O_- seriosly going to cutdown on movement. awsome costume though....

It goes jingle-jangle, though. :D I don't think it'll be worse than having the sword and shield on my back, to be honest. Those weigh 15-18 pounds as well, but unlike the chain mail, they'll be bouncing around and knocking into things. :P

stilll....  thats heavy... well guess im a weakling xD i dont like lugging around heavy things... cept my nephiew Gabe... i always give in when he asks for a piggy back x.x

So I can look AND listen for you Radien xD Nice!

I'm for cosplays that can last several cons without needing repairs. If it needs repair work then it probably wasn't made that well >< That's one reason why I'm using a white shirt for my Roxas costume that I already had on hand- and wore actually at Sakura Con.

Yeah, you should be able to hear a "ka-chink" or a "ka-jangle." ;)

Street clothes that can be used for certain costumes sure are handy.

Raiden, stay in one spot for a while so I can find you and take pictures, please.

If you see me anytime during the day, I will likely be in costume. I spent too much on this cosplay NOT to wear it as much as possible. :P

That's how I am with my costume. I think you and I might be boiling in our costumes. Chain link? That sounds hot! Epic, nonethless. I'm sensing that water will be very important during this con.

It's not the chain mail that'll make it hot... it's the shirt, T-shirt, leather tunic, wig, leather hat, gloves, vambracers, shin boots, and pants. ;) Chain mail will probably only make me hot by making me tired, so if I avoid running around too fast, it won't be as much of a problem. That's also why I'm wearing the T-shirt: better to get that sweaty and change T-shirts daily than to mess up the costume I'm wearing over it.

Davy Jones, on the other hand, couldn't be anything but stifling, I imagine, with all of the rubber and synthetics and makeup. Yours sounds like it will be pretty amazing. I'll definitely hunt you down. (but not kill you; I'm saving that for the Kraken...)

My Roxas cosplay has no sleeves, neither does Yuna.... But Aqua's got sort of sleeves.... I think the cosplay I'll be hottest in will be Diva: puffy shirt + puffy jacket + puffy skirt XDD I'll probably look like a colorful Jack Sparrow run away (from the movies I mean). It's that kind of nice English type.

I wish I could meet some other Trickster online cosplayers T-T But oh well. To be some of the first is still fun.

You totally got my hopes up there for a second and smashed them flat. Haha. I'm hoping there will be a Jack Sparrow there. That'd be awesome. Either way, any costume that looks like that era is cool with me. Those times were stylish.

http://i37.tinypic.com/s312de.png Here's a chibi of the costume I'm wearing. Cept with this costume you can have any hair color, and it can be the Red version (Primadonna) or the Green version (Diva). T-T I'll have to look for a red ribbon for the hair, since I can't find a green one bleh.

You have to go up to the Jack Sparrow and say "Do you fear death?"

That would be great XD

Anyway I got a nasty bruise on my arm and it's going to show up in my pictures >_<

I'm happy that Temari has longs sleeves but Albel and Hikaru have short sleeves.....actually they have no sleeves >_>

Looks very cool~ Is that a wig? Looks like the bangs of it could be styled a bit more for your cheeks, but that's about all I can nit-pick at. Maybe pull the hat a little farther onto the head too?

I'm in mini skirts for two of my costumes, and wind + cold nights coming early at like 5pm... Yeaaaah >>; I'd just rather not be an ice cube. I'll probably be stuck wearing a hoodie >< Even though the winter coat could at least go over my costumes with their own jackets and what not - and my winter coat goes to my knees <3 Confirmed warmth mwahahahaha!!! *loves her coat*

And 67 at dark is cold, and if I remember right, Portland's in a valley-type area so it gets wind too.

*shrug* that's the only thing I get annoyed about with people who bash the yaoi/yuri and other such cosplayers. What's more different than them and just having fun? -_- Really... But let's not get into that..

I think yaoi crossplay is more silly than anything. You see, first of all, the guys are generally so effeminate that the girls don't like seeing guys cosplay them. Secondly, most of said girls are actually straight, and yet they're bipassing the actual males. Lastly, as melchizidek astutely points out in his signature, it's two girls in those costumes... so yaoi crossplay is actually yuri. ;)

When it comes right down to it, though, most fetishes are actually kinda funny, because of how far they get "sidetracked." hehe.

I kinda know what you mean. I'm wearing a mini skirt for two out of the three days and a open stomach shirt and a skirt that shows off one of my legs >_>

Bare midriff and thighs, no body hair below the neck, thigh-high stockings, a sarong/loin cloth, no pants, long tight cloth gloves, possible mascara....

Yeah, there's really no two ways about it: Albel wears drag. ;)

So, Ashi-spam! :D

It's done! Or at 95%!
I got more linen-look rayon so I can finish the arm covers. Gotta go wash it along with the rest of my cosplay laundry. And boots need to be taken in at the toes, they're still too big around the foot. And I'd like to do the small dagger before I leave. Luckily fimo dough bakes super-quick.

Other than that, I think I've just got a few small nitpicky things to tweak. But I'm so proud of how it looks. I can't wait for Sunday.
(Well, yes I can, because the Cardcaptor Sakura stuff still needs a lot of work, but I think my Tomoyo will be willing to help me out with that.)

I don't mind yaoi when it's called for. In Star Ocean 3 there definitely were some possible yaoi pairings. Of course, it's always just potential and "hinted" at, but when it's an obviously intentional hint, I say it counts as legit.

I'm not sure about Cliff and Albel.  Never saw their paired storyline. Fayt and Albel definitely do have that hinting in one possible plotline. My sister stumbled across it unintentionally and showed them to me... she was quite amused at what Albel considers a "friend," since he basically treats everyone like crap. ;)

Okay, enough OT for me...

Kumi-chan:
