Would anyone be interested in meeting at the Water Front in Portland for a cosplay picnic some time during the summer? We could all meet up and everyone could bring one food item (or drink) and we would eat in the grass have fun and cosplay. If that gets too boring there is all of Portland at our disposal so we could wonder around there.

I'm not too sure on a date right now but I think sometime during the weekend would be the best. I was kind of thinking Julyish too. The only problem that I can see are summer jobs. A lot of jobs (mine included) don't have regular hours. Most of the time you wont know when you are working till a week in advance. Also the fact that it is going to be summer and some people are going to go on vacation.

If people are interested feel free to PM me or respond with possible times. I want to get a head count as well as the food that people are planing on bringing.

PS: this could be a good time to get good photos done (I desperately need some for each one of my costumes)

I'm game.
As of now, I don't have a job, but July's 2 months away, and I could have one by then.
But other then that, I'm free, and I'm up to bringing whatever food or drink people want.

I don't have a job yet either but I need to get one. I can just see me planing this whole thing and the week before it my boss say hay can you work on this day at this time. also there is the problem that I would already have to request time off for the two vacations that I am going on and for the con. Well I am not even going to take a job that wont give me all three off.

However, back to the picnic I think it would be lots of fun, even if there is just a small crowed going.

Hokkaayyyy I should be uber game for this, I am gonna get a small summer job with the nearby Boy's and Girl's club. ^_^ When it happens, I will have weekends off -nods-

If it's a picnic, then sandwiches sound good. :-O
Cake would be a good dessert, too.
And for drinks: water, ice tea, Odwalla, and, I guess soda, too.

Oh, I would love to go! When in July!? I should be free that month, except for maybe the first weekend...

I could make cupcakes! Chips are good too! XD Maybe a few of us could tackle sandwhiches? Like, mini ones? xD >.> More time to get meh cosplay. XD Uh, would this be during the weekend? X.X Mom's schedual is hectic because she's gone 5 days a week.

So, maybe our main focus right now should be on the date, and exact location[for the stupid people like me who live no where near Portland XD]. Then, maybe the food, and who's cosplaying who so we can sort of get an idea of just which characters are going to be picnicing.

Ohh I can't wait for this summer it's going to be awesome and hopefully our froup will get our Gijinka pokemon outfits done in time for the picnic.

omg I know, sad I can't make it to the meet up at the waterfront. But last minute homework and final tests have me going crazy.

But I will try my hardest to make to the picnic, and hey maybe it could also be in our show(if it's all right with everyone, I don't want to be rude and just film people). Because we want to get footage of cosplayers and it be alot of fun just to film what we do lol.

I was thinking about noon. We would meet at the fountain and move to a grassy area around there. We can also go to the Saturday Market after we eat and get everything cleaned up, or before it doesn't matter to me.

Now if any conflicts come up just let me know. I will make sure that I can get that day off if not we can always move it to that Friday or Sunday. The time is not set in stone. It is simply a suggestion at this point. As for food I am going to make a list and everyone can tell me what they want to bring. If you want to bring extra just let me know and I'll add it to the list.

Food:
Sandwiches (someone suggested little triangles, also what kind?)
Chips
cupcakes Me and saya-chan14
cookies
fruit (watermelon or a fruit cocktail type thing)
cheese and crackers (?)
soybeans (?)
strawberry shortcakes (?)
pie
cheesecake

Drinks:
tea saya-chan14
soda
water
juice
mocktails (?)

That is just a list to start with. I am planning on bringing the cupcakes. If you want to bring sweets let me know but for cake lets try something a little different, for example if I am bringing cupcakes and you want to bring cake you could make coffee cake or some other type of cake.

Also lets make this a pg-13 event so please no alcohol. I suggested mocktails so you could get the taste without the buzz.

I was the one who suggested the sanwhiches actually. XD I would suggest tuna, tuna salad or something with fish. XD Maybe turkey, ham, ect. The works. Maybe have a small station set up where you could pick a topping or something...I don't know if I want to do that, but if I come, I'll definetly bring pop. Me coming currently is not set in stone yet, so don't sign me up yet!
